After we took some time to recover from the fall, the girl began to look around. Her eyes then drifted upwards.
"We fell from a really high place... It's a miracle we're alive," she spoke with some trepidation, feeling a sense of guilt.
"It's my fault... If only I watched where I was going..."
Indeed. If only.
Of course, what came out of my mouth was: "Don't worry about it. We're alive, that's all that matters."
I gave her a friendly smile.
She was surprised at my lack of care, despite her almost killing the both of us.
She smiled back sincerely.
We both lingered there for a moment, surrounded by golden petals and the soft silence. The cavern was dim, lit only by the faint rays from the hole far above.
She brushed some hair behind her ear and extended her hand towards me. "Um… I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Frisk."
I took her hand and she helped me stand up.
"Kira," I replied simply.
She nodded once, carving the name into her head.
"It's nice to meet you! Even if our circumstances are kinda… weird," she spoke happily. She had a friendly and easy-going personality.
I briefly glanced up at the gaping hole in the ceiling. "Yeah, weird is putting it lightly. We should try finding a way out of here. However, I don't thinking climbing back is an option..."
Of course, I knew the game and how to get out so I wasn't too worried.
Frisk of course was thinking up a solution.
After a moment, she said, "Hey! Over there, look! There's an entrance!"
I followed her finger and saw it. A carved stone archway tucked between two rock pillars.
It was definitely man-made. Correction. Monster-made.
She took a few steps toward it, dragging me along as we were still holding hands.
She's quite bold, I mused. Or perhaps just clueless.
She then looked back at me with a hopeful smile. "That might lead us out!"
I nodded.
However, as we were so close, that was when I managed to get a better look at Frisk and I saw something strange pop up.
A blue panel appeared in front of my face.
[Frisk's Profile]
HP: 20/20
LV: 1
EXP: 0/10
Soul: Determination
Abilities: Regression
I was startled at first, before I realized it was probably my system.
My cheat!
It seems it allows me to view the stats of others.
I wonder if I can see my stats as well.
Immediately after I thought of that, the panel changed.
[Kira's Profile]
HP: 20/20
LV: 1
EXP: 0/10
Soul: Obsession
Abilities: Danger Magnet
I read my stats and frowned slightly.
Danger Magnet?
Was this why my luck was so shitty?
I wanted to see the description of it to find out, and as expected, the system revealed some text.
Info: Danger Magnet is a product of your soul. Not only are dangerous and unfortunate events more inclined to happen to you and your surroundings, dangerous and evil-aligned people of the opposite sex are also more likely to view you fondly.
!!!
Fuck!
No wonder!
This was the reason for all my tragedies!
"Are you okay?" Frisk asked, her head tilted slightly as she noticed that something was wrong with me.
I blinked and realized I'd been staring into space like an idiot.
"Yeah," I lied.
"I was just… processing some stuff."
She smiled, oblivious. "Same. This place is pretty weird. But I feel like we'll be okay if we stick together."
My eyes narrowed slightly.
You might regret saying that once you find out about my shitty ability.
Still, I nodded and smiled back. "Yeah. Sticking together sounds like a good idea."
She turned, still leading me by the hand, and we walked toward the stone archway.
We passed beneath the stone archway, and the moment we did, the air felt... different. Like something was watching us.
Frisk let go of my hand to walk a bit ahead, her steps cautious but curious.
That's when I saw it.
A single golden flower in the center of the path, resting innocently in the dim light on a small patch of grass.
Frisk paused. "A flower?" she muttered, stepping closer.
And then—
"Howdy!"
We both flinched as the flower suddenly spoke. Despite me knowing the plot, a flower randomly talking was still quite shocking.
"I'm Flowey! Flowey the Flower!" it greeted, cheerful and chirpy like a cartoon mascot. Its smile was wide and unblinking, giving an unnervingly friendly impression.
Frisk took a step back instinctively.
"You two are new to the Underground, aren'tcha?" Flowey spoke. "Golly, you must be so confused! Someone ought to teach you how things work around here!"
It smiled wider, if that was even possible.
"I guess little old me will have to do!"
Before either of us could respond, time suddenly froze and a sudden "ding" echoed in my head.
A new panel appeared.

I stopped breathing for a moment.

That word alone made my heart tremble.
My hand instinctively clenched.
Revive Chara?
Was this suppose to be a choice?
"Revive."
I then tapped the [Genocide] option without hesitation.
Sorry monsters. But I want to see my girlfriend again.
Even though she might be a bit of a psychopath...
I'm into that shit!
