One day I came back home after hanging out with friends, only to be greeted by absolute silence. I was roaming around the house wondering where my parents are, at first I didn't worry all too much.
Its fine, sometimes Mom and Dad come a bit late from work, they're World Hunters after all!
I thought with glowing eyes...
"World Hunters"... people that posses special abilities and use them for our prosperity!
How could I not be proud? Both my parents are very cool and important, and heroes and all that stuff!
Yeah, that's how easy it is to sway a Childs mind. I was once a fanatic of those "World Hunters"...
I also had a lot of friends when I thought that. But now everyone thinks I'm a weirdo for hating "World Hunters". After all it's any persons dream to become a World Hunter, even the most low class ones make enough money to live a somewhat luxurious life.
Not only money but also the prestige and acknowledgement that comes with it...
Selfish bastards that would throw away everything for the sake of a quick buck.
These people just invade other's home and then complain when they retaliate with the same thing... How ignorant!
How could I ever be so foolish to worship those damn...
Anyway let's stop complaining. It's almost time for my "awakening". Since my parents were both World Hunters, I should at least awaken something right?
"Ohhh! Look who it is, if it isn't Mister angry at the world Donavan?" - A very annoying sound pierced my ears... a pipsqueak came to annoy me again.
"Get ready already and stop day-dreaming. Some people are actually excited to awaken their talents." - The pipsqueak changed the tone of his voice to a more serious one.
"Leave my room David..." - I throw the pipsqueak a side-eye.
David has been the most annoying of all the bastards in this orphanage. You can't really say he's a bully, or well, he's very bad at being one.
"Ho-ho look at that!" David exclaimed sarcastically, "Looks like I have been too lax on you recently, it's all because of that awakening, got me too excited... don't you worry, after I awaken as a [Black Ranker] I will be sure to... educate you."
I smirk in pipsqueaks face, sure he will.
After that David leaves, and I follow shortly after. Let's get this over with quickly.
We arrive at Ravenwood's Temple. The most majestic and glorious building in the entire city, well of course, how else could it be. Of course a place specifically for World Hunters would be so majestic.
"Welcome everybody." A woman in black and white clothing walked up to the pedestal with a tablet.
"Awakening is a process in which your talent and will are evaluated by the gods that oversee us." The woman continues to patiently explain, "If a god deems you worthy, you will receive a Class and Job, as well as a Ranker System."
David raises his hand and shouts out "What exactly is the Ranker System?"
The woman rests her finger on her chin, "As you may know, there are 8 Levels to worlds... White, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Purple and the highest one, Black."
David nods quickly, clearly excited.
"And a Ranker System decides which Level of Worlds you are most suitable to clear. With a higher Level Ranker System, you will become exponentially more powerful than the ones with a weaker Ranker System. Basically, [Green Rankers] are getting twice as much stronger as [Blue Rankers], and so on."
I roll my eyes, can we just get over this quickly so I can go finish the thing I was making?
As if the woman heard me, she turned to me, "Why don't we start with you, young man?"
I stand up and walk towards the tablet, I lay my hand on the tablet and nothing happens for quite some time.
"Well I guess not" I shrug and the room fills with giggles. Suddenly a bright light starts radiating from the tablet, and slowly creeps up my arms, and into my body.
A hologram appears above the tablet...

The room was filled with giggles again, Green Ranker? Production Class? Hilarious!
David had that unpleasant grin on his face that can't be quite described with words, only with punches.
But I didn't care about that, I wasn't intending to conquer worlds anyway. I would've been fine even if I didn't awaken at all.
People were putting their hands on the tablet, some awakened, some didn't. Some awakened as Yellow Rankers, others as Blue Rankers. Nothing interesting...
A bright light suddenly enveloped the entire hall... it was David's turn.
"Hoh?" The woman was surprised.

Class: [Mage]
Job: [Dark Flames Mage(Unique)]
The woman started clapping, "Not only are you [Red Ranker], but also you awakened your Job immediately... how exciting~!"
David threw me a glance, as if seeking confirmation that I was envious of him... my mistake was being surprised. He took that as a signal of weakness.
By the end of this day, I knew, that my somewhat peaceful life was gonna become much, much more difficult.
