Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Uchiha Seimei

Chapter 1: Uchiha Seimei

Inside the room.

Seimei slowly regained consciousness, his gaze sweeping across the surroundings, his eyes filled with confusion.

'Where is this?'

The moment that thought surfaced, a flood of fragmented memories rushed into his mind.

'Ninja… Konoha… Uchiha…'

Seimei quickly sorted through the memories in his mind. A string of familiar yet foreign terms helped him gradually understand his current situation.

Without a doubt, he had transmigrated.

According to the memories in his head, the original owner of this body shared his name, but was a member of the Uchiha clan in Konoha.

Uchiha Seimei had just turned ten this year and was currently in the fourth year at the ninja academy.

The reason he was able to seize this body was also quite simple—earlier this afternoon, after school, the original owner suddenly received news that his parents had died in battle.

Overcome with grief, he collapsed and died on the spot.

And that was when Seimei took over as the new master of this body.

But that wasn't the important part.

What mattered was that this world was none other than the famed ninja world, and even more critically, it was during the Third Great Ninja War.

There was no better word to describe this era than: human life was as cheap as grass.

It wasn't just the commoners—even elite ninja were struggling to survive each day amidst the chaos.

This only made Seimei feel even less secure.

Even in Konoha, the strongest hidden village, safety was never guaranteed.

And on top of that, the original owner belonged to the ill-fated Uchiha clan. After the war would come the clan's massacre—it was truly a case of misfortune piling on misfortune.

"Sigh! I thought dying from overwork was miserable enough. Turns out I still had to go through this mess."

Seimei felt utterly speechless.

What's that?

You mention supernatural powers?

Please! Seimei had already checked—despite the original owner suffering such a huge emotional blow, he still hadn't awakened the Sharingan.

There was no other way to describe this talent—it was garbage.

As for chakra?

Well, there was some.

But so what?

In the end, the ninja world was all about bloodlines. The closer your bloodline was to Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, the greater your potential ceiling.

Otherwise, at best, you'd shine briefly like Maito Gai, only to fade into obscurity.

Seimei had no intention of saving the world.

He had a clear understanding of who he was.

Perhaps he had some ability, but only a little. To imagine he could carve out a unique path like Orochimaru? That was practically impossible.

"If only I had a cheat ability…"

After thinking for a long while with no good ideas, Seimei could only mutter helplessly.

But the moment his words fell, a faint blue translucent panel appeared in his field of vision.

[Name: Uchiha Seimei

Age: 10

Constitution: 5

Spirit: 7

Chakra: 60 (125)

Bloodline: Sharingan – Unawakened (51/100)

Skills: None]

"This is… a system panel?!"

Seimei instantly sat upright, the gloom in his mind vanishing completely.

He was never someone who gave up easily. It was just that the situation earlier had seemed unsolvable, leading to inevitable frustration.

But now…

Even though he didn't yet know what the panel could do, at least there was a shred of hope, wasn't there?

His eyes moved across the panel. Name and age were basic info, not worth mentioning.

What caught his attention were constitution and spirit…

The former represented his physical potential.

This included—but was not limited to—his body's recovery speed, neural reaction rate, muscle density, bone strength, and everything related to the physical body.

The latter represented his mental potential.

For ordinary people, both these values averaged around 3. If you surpassed 3, you had the qualifications to become a ninja.

His constitution was at 5, and spirit at 7. It seemed pretty good—until you looked closer.

At this age, a 5 in constitution was indeed decent among civilian students. But don't forget, the original owner had inherited the superior bloodline of the Uchiha clan. This was simply too low.

As for spirit…

7 was certainly not low, but Seimei suspected this was due to his arrival increasing the value. Otherwise, it would've likely been just 5.

Otherwise, how could the original owner have failed to awaken the Sharingan?

It couldn't be said that the original owner lacked feelings for his parents—that would be nonsense.

He had literally died from grief after learning of their deaths. Could there be any truer emotional bond than that?

And yet, even then, the Sharingan awakening level was barely over halfway. This only proved one thing—the aptitude of this body was truly terrible. There was no other explanation.

But now, this problem was his to deal with.

After thinking for a while, Seimei couldn't come up with a good solution, so he temporarily set it aside.

He looked toward the skills section—completely empty.

Logically speaking, after inheriting the original owner's memories, he should have at least a few basic techniques. But the panel showed nothing at all.

Uchiha Seimei's talent might've been poor, but he still knew the three basic ninjutsu. This left Seimei puzzled.

If not for the chakra flowing through his body's meridians, he would've suspected the memories were fake.

'Uh, maybe it's because I haven't performed them personally?'

With this thought in mind, Seimei stood up and, following the memories in his mind, began gathering chakra while forming the "Ram–Snake–Tiger" hand seals slowly, aiming to perform the Clone Technique.

However, after expending chakra, nothing happened.

Wait—

Seimei's eyes sharpened as he looked at the skills section of the panel. There, the previously blank space distorted, and finally a line of text appeared—Clone Technique: lv0 (1/100)!

"So it really was because I hadn't used it personally…"

Muttering softly as he looked at the newly appeared skill, Seimei then turned his gaze to the level and numbers following it.

If he guessed correctly, that number represented proficiency.

With that thought in mind, Seimei gathered chakra again and performed the Clone Technique just as before.

As expected, he failed again.

But Seimei showed no trace of impatience on his face.

Why? Because the number had changed—from lv0 (1/100) to lv0 (3/100).

That confirmed it. This was a proficiency-based system.

Why had it increased by two points this time?

Seimei figured it must've been related to the memories in his head.

At this point, it was like reclaiming previously owned power, so the proficiency growth wasn't consistent.

Verifying this would be simple.

Seimei took a deep breath to calm his agitated mind. Then he tried to vividly recall how the original owner practiced the Clone Technique and began imitating it.

A few seconds later, a puff of chakra smoke appeared—but quickly dissipated.

The Clone Technique failed again.

But the proficiency increased by three points—Clone Technique: lv0 (6/100)!

Clearly, his guess was correct.

With this, he could quickly convert everything the original owner had into usable strength, hiding any abnormalities in himself.

After all, the ninja world was full of techniques that read minds or manipulated souls. If he slipped up, Seimei didn't think he could escape an interrogation from the ANBU.

Even if it was unlikely that ANBU would notice him, it was always better to be cautious.
