Chapter 2 - A mysterious girl appear

Emily's body slowly returned to her human form, and she grabbed onto Adam, kissing him as they fell from the sky. They continued their passionate kiss, descending as the last rays of sunlight pierced through the clouds.

Her phoenix wings spread behind her shoulders, wrapping around them as they spun like a shooting star under the night sky. Emily smiled at Adam, her wings spreading apart, gliding through the air as Adam held tight. Emily slowly descended, her fiery glow disappearing as their feet touched the ground.

"That was very daring of you. I could have fallen to my death," Adam said, his face still in shock from Emily's maneuver in the sky.

"I have centuries of experience flying. I wouldn't let anything happen to you," Emily replied, hugging Adam and lifting both her legs as Adam grab on to them. Adam, struggling with her weight, stumbled, trying to keep them from falling.

"You better not drop me until we reach the restaurant!" Emily commanded, pinching Adam's face.

"You keep forgetting I'm still just a human here. This is torture," Adam groaned, struggling to reach the restaurant.

Just a few more steps, and Adam was blocked by a girl standing directly in his way. Emily looked at the girl, then dropped to her feet, wondering why this girl was blocking them.

The girl, wearing glasses and with messy hair, started tearing up as she looked at them. She shouted, "How can you do this to me?!" She threw a ring at Adam and quickly ran off into the dark streets.

Both Adam and Emily were confused by what had just happened. "Who is that girl? Do you know her?!" Emily asked, wondering if it was one of Adam's love interests.

Adam, still confused and exhausted from carrying Emily, replied, "I don't think I know her at all. Stop looking at me. I didn't know her."

Emily picked up the ring from the ground. She realized this ring looked eerily familiar. As she tried to remember where she had seen it, Adam looked at the ring and instantly remembered. It was one of the belongings he was given back during his stay in the hospital.

"This ring is similar to the ring I wore when I woke up from the coma," Adam told Emily.

Emily, still unsure what it meant, looked at Adam silently.

"If I knew who she was, I would have told you, Emily. It's just a ring that's similar to the one I wore in my coma," Adam quickly defended himself from Emily's silent accusations.

Emily knew Adam was telling the truth, but she still wasn't happy about the situation. Emily smacked the ring on Adam's chest as she stormed off into the restaurant. Adam, holding the ring, quickly put it in his pocket and chased after Emily.

As they sat down, Emily's mood hadn't improved from the earlier interaction. Adam contemplated how to cheer Emily up and make sure she didn't misunderstand. "You know, your face looks really cute even when you're jealous!" Adam tried to break the ice.

"Jealous? Seriously?! You really think I would be jealous of you over that? Did you forget what you did with Lyra?" Emily escalated the situation.

"Wait! Why bring Lyra into the picture? You agreed to the situation before you left. Now you're bringing it up. That's unfair," Adam replied.

"It's fine, I have lived for centuries, so you should know how many guys I've met," Emily spoke with a hint of vengeance.

Adam suddenly realized the implication of Emily's words and hadn't considered her time living through multiple rebirths. "Wait?! So you had a husband before me?" Adam's jealousy and curiosity crept in.

Before Emily could answer, the waiter came to take their order. The interruption put the tension on hold, and both of them quickly chose their food, giving the waiter a courteous smile.

Adam glanced at Emily, still curious and jealous, wanting to ask about her past. Emily put her hand up, stopping Adam from talking. "Let's put the question on hold. We are on a date, and it's better we don't talk about this, or it will ruin the mood."

Adam had no choice but to hold back his questioning of her past.

Emily's hand moved, touching Adam's. "I'm willing to drop the subject, and I remember what you said about doing whatever you want," Emily said, giving him a seductive look.

Adam, enticed by her seduction, willingly dropped the subject. "I do. I have something in mind," Adam said, his mind suddenly taking a sinister turn toward what he wanted.

Emily smiled and bit her lips. "I can't wait!" she whispered, rubbing her foot on Adam's thigh.

Adam struggled to control his face from flushing red in public. He grabbed her hand to stop her, afraid of getting hard in public. An awkward silence settled between them as they stared at each other before their food arrived at the table.
