Chapter 1 - The boy who spoke to fire

In the land of Dravara, dragons ruled the skies. They soared over mountains, rivers, and forests, their shadows casting fear below. Some dragons were red like fire, some black like the void, and some had scales that shimmered like silver stars. People stayed in their villages, behind stone walls, whispering tales of burning homes and lost lives.

But one boy saw things differently.

His name was Kael. He lived near the Misty Mountains, where dragons were seen more often. While others hid, Kael climbed hills and watched the skies, dreaming of wings and wind. His heart beat not with fear, but with hope. He felt something pull him toward the dragons, as if he belonged to their world.

One foggy morning, Kael wandered into the forest and heard a strange sound. It was soft, like a cry. He followed it and found a young dragon caught in a hunter's trap. Its wing was torn, its eyes wild with pain. Most people would have run. But Kael moved closer.

"I'm not here to hurt you," he whispered.

The dragon growled, but didn't attack. Kael used a sharp rock to break the trap and wrapped the wing with cloth. It was slow work, but he stayed. He sang softly. The dragon watched him the whole time.

That day changed everything.

The dragon returned days later—healed, stronger, and not alone. Others followed. Old dragons, young ones, even rare breeds with glowing eyes and icy breath. They circled Kael's home, waiting. He wasn't just a boy anymore. He was becoming something more.

The villagers noticed. Some were amazed. Some were scared. And some grew jealous. Whispers spread like wind. "Why him?" "What if he turns on us?"

Kael didn't care. He had found purpose. He learned their language—not with words, but feelings. He flew for the first time on the back of a great blue dragon whose wings made thunder. The sky was no longer a dream. It was home.

He made friends too. A boy who taught him how to fight. A girl who crafted armor from dragon scales. And one friend who always stayed silent—but listened well. Together, they trained, explored, and protected the dragons.

Kael also found love. A girl with fire in her eyes and courage in her soul. She wasn't afraid of dragons or danger. She believed in Kael when others doubted. She stood with him on mountaintops and in battle. With her, Kael felt stronger.

But peace never lasts forever.

One day, a friend began to act strange. He asked too many questions. He disappeared for days. Another friend began spreading lies. Kael didn't see it at first. He trusted them.

Until it was too late.

A trap was set. Not for dragons, but for Kael himself. His enemies used his own friends against him. And in the middle of it all, the dragons were caught in danger again.

Kael had to make a choice—fight for what was right, or protect his heart from breaking.

Because in a world full of dragons, fire wasn't the only thing that could burn.
