My command echoed across the moonlit rooftop, a declaration of war born from desperation. "Let's end this. Together."
For a moment, the high-tier Nomu paused, as if its intelligent brain was processing the new variables that had suddenly appeared on its battlefield. It saw the newly arrived young heroes—a boy radiating green energy, another boy whose body was half-frozen, and a red-haired boy grinning with sharp teeth. Then it looked at us—a wounded dragon in human form, a legendary assassin with a cursed sword, and a young hero with spiral energy beginning to return. Its bird-like face twisted, and it let out a low growl that sounded like laughter. It saw us not as a threat, but as a bigger feast.
I didn't give it time to enjoy the moment. I had to seize the initiative. I had to turn this chaos into a coordinated orchestra.
"Todoroki!" I yelled through the communicator, my voice sharp and authoritative. "Don't let it move freely! I don't care how, freeze the ground, create walls, make this arena an icy hell for it!"
"Iida, Kirishima!" I continued. "You are our front line! Distract it! Make it focus on you! Kirishima, you are its fortress, withstand its blows! Iida, use your speed to attack its joints and immediately retreat! Don't let it catch you!"
"Midoriya! You are our hammer! You have the strongest punching power among us! I know your arms are shattered, so use your legs! Wait for the opening we create, then hit it with all you've got!"
"Ryukyu-san! Nejire-senpai!" I turned to them. "We need an attack from above! Don't let it focus on us on the ground! Apply pressure from the air!"
Finally, I looked at Akame, who already understood her role before I even spoke. "Akame! You are our scalpel! You're the only one who can inflict permanent damage on it! Find any vital points, tendons, or joints you can reach! Every scratch from you will slow its regeneration!"
"Don't order me around," Bakugo growled, having just landed near Kirishima's group. But even though his mouth refused, his body moved, small explosions already ready in his hands. He understood the logic.
"GREAT PLAN! LET'S DO IT!" Kirishima yelled with spirit.
And so, our symphony of destruction began.
Todoroki was the first to move. With a stomp of his foot, a giant wave of ice crept across the rooftop's surface, creating a thick, uneven, and slippery layer of ice. Sharp ice spikes emerged randomly, turning the flat roof into a treacherous field for anyone without perfect footing. The Nomu growled as its feet slipped slightly, its incredible mobility now slightly hampered.
"MY TURN!" Kirishima roared. He charged forward in his Unbreakable form, becoming an unstoppable human projectile. The Nomu, distracted by the ice, raised one of its four arms to block Kirishima's attack. There was a loud clash, and Kirishima managed to withstand the blow, though he was pushed back several meters.
As the Nomu focused on Kirishima, Iida sprang into action. The engines in his calves roared, and he shot forward in the blink of an eye, delivering a series of quick and powerful Recipro Extend kicks to the back of the Nomu's knees before darting back to safety. The Nomu screamed in anger, one of its legs buckling slightly.
From above, Ryukyu dove down like a dragon hawk. She no longer tried to clash with strength directly. Instead, she used her wings to create powerful gusts of wind, further disrupting the Nomu's balance on the ice. At her side, Nejire, who had gathered a little energy, fired a small but fast Nejire Pike, aiming for the Nomu's eyes to distract it further.
In the midst of all that chaos, Akame became a ghost. She disappeared from sight, then reappeared right behind the busy Nomu. Her Murasame sword slashed with lightning speed. She didn't aim for the chest or head. She aimed for the Achilles tendon in one of the Nomu's heels. She managed to make a small scratch. The purple curse marks began to spread, albeit very slowly, fought off by the Nomu's super-regeneration. But it was enough. The Nomu's leg weakened slightly.
I saw it. The opening that our incredible teamwork had created.
"MIDORIYA, NOW!" I yelled.
Midoriya, who had been waiting patiently, leaped from behind Todoroki's ice wall. "DETROIT SMASH!" he roared, channeling 8% of One For All into his kick. His kick landed squarely on the Nomu's chest, in the same spot where my chest armor had once been shattered. The Nomu was thrown backward, finally falling to one knee.
Seeing his mighty opponent kneel, Bakugo couldn't resist. "DIE, YOU DAMN MONSTER!" He launched his AP Shot, a concentrated explosion that hit the Nomu's shoulder, creating a small, smoking hole.
But this Nomu was no ordinary monster. Even after taking a combined attack from so many people, it began to rise again. Its wounds began to close, though slower than before. It roared, a roar filled with pure rage, and began to spin its four arms like propellers, creating a storm of blows that forced all of us to retreat.
"It... it's still getting up!" Uraraka exclaimed in horror over the communicator.
I knew we couldn't keep this up. We had wounded it, but we had also spent a lot of energy. We only had one more chance for a final combined attack before we were all exhausted.
I focused, feeling the last remnants of energy within me. I didn't have enough power for a full manifestation. But I didn't need it. I just needed one thing. I remembered my fight against Todoroki, my weapon.
"EVERYONE, LISTEN UP!" I yelled, my voice becoming the center of attention amidst the storm. "WE'RE ENDING THIS NOW! I'LL OPEN THE WAY! WHEN I GIVE THE COMMAND, UNLEASH EVERYTHING YOU HAVE ON THE SAME SPOT!"
I looked at the raging Nomu. I took a deep breath. 'Not just a sword blade,' I thought, communicating with my dragon. 'Give me a spear. Give me Neuntote. Even if it's just the tip.'
I screamed as my last energy was drained, channeling it into my right arm. The pain was immense, but I endured it. The armor on my arm didn't just form a blade; it continued to lengthen, thin, and harden, forming a jet-black spearhead that looked brutal and deadly, almost a meter long.
"Akame!" I yelled. She understood without me having to explain. She shot forward, not to attack, but to be the final distraction, forcing the Nomu to focus on her.
As the Nomu swung its four arms at Akame, I saw my final opening. I charged forward. I held nothing back. With all my remaining strength, I plunged the Incursio spearhead straight into the Nomu's chest, at the same point Midoriya had attacked.
My created armor pierced its thick skin. I kept pushing, feeling the resistance of its dense muscles, until it was finally embedded deep in its chest. The Nomu roared in pain and anger, one of its arms slamming into my back and sending me flying.
"NOW!" I yelled as I flew through the air.
That was the signal.
From all directions, the ultimate attacks came. Todoroki unleashed his most powerful Flashfreeze Heatwave. Bakugo fired a Howitzer Impact from above. Nejire, with a final cry, released her remaining energy in a single, dazzling Nejire Flood. Iida and Kirishima attacked from the sides. And Midoriya, leaping from an ice wall, delivered one last Smash kick.
All those attacks were no longer scattered. They were all focused on one point: on my Incursio spear still embedded in the Nomu's chest, acting as a lightning rod for all their attacks.
BOOM!
The resulting explosion was the end of everything. A ball of white, blue, and orange light completely engulfed the Nomu. So much energy was released that the roof we were standing on trembled violently. I myself was lying on the ground, my vision blurry, my weapon manifestation disintegrating into dust.
When the light subsided, there was nothing left of the high-tier Nomu. Only a blackened crater where it had stood.
A total silence enveloped the roof, broken only by the sound of our ragged, desperate breaths. We had done it. We had defeated the impossible creature.
I tried to get up, but my body refused. Darkness began to creep in at the edges of my vision. I saw my friends, my new allies, slowly gathering around me. I saw Ryukyu land, her face filled with relief. I saw Akame standing in the distance, her sword already sheathed.
We had won.
As I finally surrendered to the darkness, my last thought was about how strange it all was. Here, on the rooftop of the world, a team consisting of heroes, an assassin, and a monster, had worked together to defeat a greater evil. Maybe... maybe there was still hope.
