"Elsa" I heard the voice of fake friends I had to put up with in school. "How are you",Dana asked. "How I've always been",I replied. "Happy resumption aye",she said. What's there to be happy about? Just another few months of school workload while dealing with wolves I call friends at school,I thought while offering her the barest decency of a smile. She soon walked away, finding something else that peaked her curiosity.
I'm actually not one to be bullied,I guess that's why they're hellbent on destroying me with lies and gossips. And no,I'm not playing the victim here,I mean what I said.
Hi,I'm Elsa,you can say I'm the next school queen but I'm a queen already. Those motherfuckers I mentioned,just vile snakes. And me,I always get my ways. One time,in middle school,a boy tried to embarrass me and I poured pepper into his water bottle,I knew it wouldn't kill him or harm him but I wanted him to back off and let him know who the fuck he's dealing with. That didn't end up well for me tho as I was called into the principal's office,I almost got suspended,almost. The tension at home that night was thick, everybody named me spoilt but they don't understand.
The school bell rang,it's the start of the senior year of high school and I'm coming in hotter this time, uniform ironed perfectly and bag neatly hung over my shoulders,the definition of elegant. With a cold face,I walked through the hallway,not caring to look at the faces of people around,then I got to my classroom. Faces seemed unfamiliar obviously from puberty's touch,they looked different. Not all of them are snakes,I have my close friends too,I walked up to them to say hi. "Hey, guys" I said. "Hi beautiful,they replied". Yeah,they are guys. My male friends are the only one keeping me sane in this goddamn school,no,I'm not a pick me if that's what you're thinking,we've been friends for more than five years now so they get my predicament,before I could say something else tho,the teacher walked inside so I just shook their hands and took my seat.
"As you all know,this is the start of senior year,hence,the need to choose student heads". I could feel the excitement In my classmates bodies,all hungry for power. In my school,there were prefects and the head of the prefects were the prefects head but instead of using the term 'prefects',we also call them 'student heads' whichever works for you. The teacher continued "I need you all to move into the hall right now,so the crowning ceremony can begin",he didn't need to say it twice before most of them rose up like lightning went through their seats,clearly eager to get to the hall. "Fools",I thought I'm my mind.
The hall was filled with all the students of the school, the priest held a paper in which the names of the prefects were written. Even the junior students where excited but me,I didn't even know how I feel. "As you all know,new students head are elected every year,to ease the staffs and help control the matters concerning the school,here with me are the names,come forward as soon as you hear your name",the school priest as straight forward as ever said. He called out a bunch of names with their titles,Dana of course got a post,that bitch,I detest her. I rolled my eyes as her name was called and then only the post of the prefects heads were left.
The priest proceeded to name Lucas,the school golden boy as the male prefect head. That was expected,he's my friend after all,so I clapped,"go boy",I shouted. I don't mind acting like a fan girl for my guys,maybe only this once,I don't think I'll be doing that again. And then the priest spoke again to announce the name of the new female school head,then I heard my name,"Elsa Davies. For once that day, different emotions ran through me.
