They say Don Angel was formerly a movie star before he entered into a life of crime and rose to become one of the most powerful crime boss in Zone 13, or in fact all of K-city. Now he was the leader of the Yellowsaber gang.
Vincent and Arch, like many others, worked for him. They didn't hold any official position in his gang and were more like freelancers, carrying out whatever meager task they were given.
Most of the time it was easy jobs like unloading heavy trucks of Alcohol and beverages, other times it was running simple errands.
And their paychecks were just as inconsistent. They would receive certain wages once they finished up the task, and these wages were just barely enough to take them into the next day.
Vincent knew he couldn't complain, there were days when he got paid for barely doing anything so it did come with its upside.
There was hardly any other thing he could do for money in this city. He tried applying for other jobs but since he had a criminal record it was far too difficult.
'But all of that is about to change,' he thought to himself as he pushed open the door.
Inside was a handsome man with brown hair, sitting comfortably on a couch with two beauties sitting beside him and one of his hands carelessly resting on her breast.
There were two other men standing behind him, Vincent could immediately recognize the two men that acted as Angel's bodyguard, Scarface and Crazy Jay.
Although they were not as big as the guards he met outside, they were far more intimidating. Everyone in Zone 13 had at least heard one or two stories about them, and it always ended with someone dying.
But that wasn't the only person he recognized,
The girl with bright pink hair sitting on the left also looked familiar but it was his first time seeing her at the bar, she blushed slightly as the boss squeezed harder on her big boobs.
"Oh, you two are finally here," the boss said with a prideful grin.
"Y-yeah," Vincent stuttered, he still couldn't believe the boss sent for the both of them himself.
He wasn't even sure the boss had ever noticed him before this, they lived in two different worlds afterall and you can tell that just by their clothes alone.
Angel wore an expensive yellow suit, with an imported Italian shoe, while Vincent wore his usual hoodie and slides. There was no need for even comparing, it could easily be described as comparing a king to a slave.
Still Vincent couldn't help it since the man was barely a few years older than him.
"Forgive me pretty ladies but you would have to excuse us, we want to talk business,"
The girls hoped to their feet while the boss escorted them out, smacking her ass before closing the door.
He walked back and poured a glass of drink before speaking to them,
"Have a seat," he said with a friendly smile.
Vincent was confused as to what was happening but he obeyed, sitting on the chair opposite him.
"What are your names?" The boss asked,
"I'm Vincent, and he is Archie," Vincent answered for both of them, Arch was too shaken up to even say a word. But who could blame him, they were speaking to the boss himself.
"Okay, perfect," he nodded. "I called you both here because I have a job for you,"
Vincent heaved a sigh of relief, he turned to Arch and smiled, who also responded with a smile.
On their way here they had brainstormed possible reasons why the boss would request for them and most of them didn't end well.
Finding out it was actually for a job made it a whole lot of relief wash over them. Infact this was good news, if the boss requested for them it meant this was probably a very important job.
Vincent thought his time had finally come. If he carried out whatever task he was given, he was sure that his life would never remain the same.
Arch spoke without hiding his excitement "Just tell us whatever it is boss we would make sure to carry it o-"
"Wait," Vincent interrupted, "what kind of job is it, we wouldn't have to do anything dangerous right?"
"Of course not, and I'm even willing to pay you both $5,000… each," the boss said.
Vincent's eyes widened, "$5,000?!"
"Yes, $5,000."
Vincent couldn't believe it, with that amount he could choose to live like a king for more than a month. This was really a blessed day.
He imagined all the things he could do with that money. A hopeful grin tore across his face, maybe this was the win he had been praying for, maybe his time had finally come.
"What do we have to do?" He asked eagerly.
"Nothing much, all you have to do is take these bags to the abandoned train station and give it to my associate," the boss pulled out two black bags and placed them on the table.
Besides it he also place two stacks of $100 bills,
"This is $2500, you can consider it an advance and when you both return I'll complete the payment,"
Vincent was slow to move, picking up the clean bills of cash in front of him. It wasn't his first time holding this kind of money but it was the first time it all belonged to him. It was almost unbelievable.
Even with money in his hands he still questioned reality,
'am I in a dream?'
His hands trembled for a few seconds before he remembered that this wasn't even all the money he would receive.
'There is another half when the job is done'
With that resolve he picked up the bag and hung it across his shoulder. He was followed by Arch almost immediately.
"Good, and it goes without saying but if any of you open these bags, I'll kill you," the boss added indifferently as his bright golden eyes stared coldly at Vincent.
It was like that of a tiger prepared to taste blood, shooting fear into every part of Vincent's body.
