Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 6: THE YOUNG MASTER IS QUITE TROUBLESOME.

Ariana was busy researching the SUN real estate project on her computer, gathering as much information as she could.

Lucas came over, placing a hand on her shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze.

"Stop it, I'm busy," she said, brushing him off playfully.

Lucas glanced at the screen, "Nathan Lang, SUN project."

Ariana shot him a look, "Oh, you know about this?"

"Got any plans?"

"This project is selling fully furnished homes, I want to land this deal. It could earn us billions."

Lucas smirked and squeezed himself onto Ariana's chair.

The chair was spacious, but with two people, it was a tight fit, Ariana nudged him, but he simply pulled her onto his lap.

"What do you need all that money for?"

"To buy my freedom."

"What?" Lucas thought he misheard her.

He started bouncing his leg, causing Ariana to bob up and down.

"I want to earn a billion to repay the Summer Family for raising me."

Lucas knew a bit about the feud between Ariana and the Summer family, since she didn't bring it up, he didn't press for details.

"Is the Summer family even worth it? Aren't you giving them too much credit?" he asked.

Ariana looked at Lucas with utmost seriousness, "It's not about them being worthy, it's about me being valuable. I am worth it."

Lucas was taken aback, in that moment, the determination and brilliance in Ariana's eyes shone like dazzling sunlight.

Yes, she was worth it.

Because she believed in her own value, she was willing to earn so much for the Summer family.

Lucas smiled, playfully lifting Ariana's chin with his finger. "You're really something."

"Stop messing around," Ariana said, turning her attention back to her computer.

But Lucas continued to tease her, his movements unpredictable, making Ariana's mind wander.

Unbidden images flashed through her mind.

"Quit it, Lucas, you're distracting me from my work."

Lucas leaned in close to Ariana's neck, whispering, "I love interrupting your work."

His warm breath on her neck made Ariana feel a rush of heat.

Seizing the moment, Lucas gently held the back of Ariana's head and kissed her lips.

Ariana was swept away by the kiss, eventually surrendering to it.

They moved from the study to the bedroom, where Ariana lay on the bed feeling completely relaxed.

This young man was certainly fierce.

But she enjoyed every bit of it.

Having lost track of time, she had to work late into the night.

Summer Family

Dinner was shared by the family of three along with Simon, at the table, Claire excitedly shared her plans with everyone.

When Claire mentioned her goal to secure the SUN's big contract, everyone was taken aback.

"The SUN project is huge, with high demands, Many companies are eyeing it, is Summer really capable of handling it?" Charles questioned with concern.

"Dad, don't you trust me?" Claire pouted. "I just joined Summer Decors and I need to prove myself, I don't want my sister to look down on me."

Claire said, feeling wronged, "Mr. Liu initially offered me the position of design director, but my sister embarrassed me in front of everyone, she brought up my education and how I grew up in the village."

"I just want to prove myself, Mr. Liu said whoever lands this order will be the new design director."

"How could Ariana be so mean! we agreed not to bring up the past! I'm calling Patrick Liu right now!" Charles fumed, reaching for his phone.

"Dad, my sister's been at Summer Decors longer than I have, it's understandable she wants to be the director. I don't blame her, besides, if I want to be the director, I need to prove my skills and earn everyone's respect."

Fiona, hearing Claire's words, felt proud. "Claire has really matured. Give her a chance."

Charles smiled and said, "Alright, Claire, just do your best."

"Don't worry, Dad, Mom, I'll work hard, I actually have a plan. I found out that the CEO of SUN, known as the Crown Prince of the capital, Lucas, is right here in our town!" Claire said confidently.

"As long as I can win over Lucas, getting that contract will be a piece of cake!"

Claire was full of confidence, but Simon remained silent.

The Firestone family from the capital was the top elite, the wealthiest in the country and even ranked internationally. Lucas was the ninth grandson of Vincent Firestone, the richest man and had been expected to achieve greatness since birth.

Compared to the Firestone family, both the Summer and Sheen families were insignificant.

How could they possibly connect with the Firestones?

After dinner, Claire reluctantly saw Simon out and he shared his concerns with her.

"It's not that easy, the Firestones aren't easy to approach."

Claire pouted immediately, "Simon, do you think only my sister can do it and I can't? In your heart, I'm still not as good as her."

Simon quickly tried to comfort the young lady, "of course not, Claire. You're overthinking it, I just wanted to remind you not to underestimate this task."

As he spoke, Simon gently pulled Claire into a hug and gave her a soft peck on the lips.

Claire finally broke into a smile through her tears, "I found out that tomorrow, Lucas will be at the Royal Racecourse, if we can meet him before the bidding and build a good relationship, getting this deal won't be too hard."

Simon hesitated a bit.

"This information is exclusive, we need to seize this opportunity."

Claire tugged on Simon's arm playfully, "Simon, just think about it, if we land this deal, the renovation materials will definitely come from your family business, it's a huge deal for both our families!"

Simon felt tempted.

In the Sheen family, he was insignificant, his two older brothers were born to his father's first wife, while his mother came from an ordinary background, In the grand Sheen family, he was overlooked and unappreciated.

The family business was naturally out of his reach.

Initially, it was his marriage to Ariana that gave him some standing in the Sheen family.

He was determined to hold onto the Summer family's influence.

But fate had other plans. When the news broke that Ariana wasn't the biological daughter of the Summer family, Simon was thrown into a panic.

So, when he noticed the Summer family growing increasingly cold towards Ariana, Simon shifted his focus to Claire.

If he could secure a big deal, the Sheen family would surely see him in a new light.

"Great, my grandfather has a membership card for the Royal Racecourse, we can go there."

"That's wonderful! I love you so much, Simon!" Claire hugged Simon's neck and gave him a peck, "together, we can definitely succeed!"

The next day, Claire took an assistant and with the membership card Simon had arranged for her, headed to the Royal Racecourse.

She truly hadn't expected to run into Ariana here.
