One month after the unofficial Mitsuya-Yotsuba meeting, Yuzo was summoned by Gen upon receiving a letter from the Yotsuba (disguised as from FLT). Expecting FLT-related preparations, Yuzo was stunned by Gen's opening words.
"FLT's second-largest shareholder?" Yuzo asked.
"Yes," Gen confirmed.
"Not a dream, right?"
"I wish it were a tall tale," Gen said, rubbing his temples.
Yuzo couldn't comprehend it, nor could Gen. He hadn't aimed high, never asked for FLT shares. The Yotsuba's involvement was clear, with Maya's sister, Miya, as FLT's top shareholder. Maya's mention of FLT during their meeting suggested prior coordination with Miya.
"Why me, not you?" Yuzo asked.
"Your identity's hidden until high school, so I'm the legal owner," Gen explained.
About 33% of FLT's shares a third of the total was an insane deal. Gen noted that Mitsuya's existing contracts with FLT for their shadow business made this less disruptive.
"How'd you convince other shareholders?" Yuzo asked.
"I'd ask Maya that. Since you won't inherit Mitsuya, they might want you for Yotsuba," Gen said.
"That's absurd," Yuzo muttered.
Miya likely orchestrated this to pull Yuzo in, tied to her and Honami's treatment kept secret, though her rejuvenation raised eyebrows.
"You'll join CAD Development's Third Division, where Tatsuya's involved, posing as the development director's son," Gen said.
Gen shared intel on Third Division, courtesy of Mitsuya's shadow business. Talented engineers like Ushiyama Kinji were sidelined there, likely due to Tatsuya's influence over his father.
"What's my role?" Yuzo asked.
"You're a magic engineer in Third Division. Head to FLT tomorrow; they're expecting you," Gen replied.
Shareholder status was secondary; Yuzo's main role was as an FLT magic engineer, working remotely to avoid rumors. He'd receive a salary and benefits. No objections, but Kazama's orders to avoid Tatsuya's group posed issues.
"Tatsuya and I aren't supposed to meet," Yuzo said.
"If you do?" Gen asked.
"I'll pin it on them," Yuzo smirked.
Kazama's restriction, likely tied to Okinawa, canceled Yuzo's Nine Schools plan with Miyuki. Planning an apology letter, Yuzo decided to bring a gift to Third Division.
If needed, he'd shift blame to Kazama not out of spite, but his orders cost Yuzo the event.
Using the Tokyo Ueyama residence due to distance from the main estate and his Mitsuya name, Yuzo visited FLT as a "proxy for a shareholder relative." Miya and Yubicin held most shares, with Mitsuya and others owning the rest.
At FLT's reception, Yuzo was led to the president's office. The president, a Yotsuba appointee, knew his role.
"I'm Nagano Yuzo, though my real name's withheld due to family tradition," Yuzo said.
"I've heard of your skills. You're joining Third Division. Here's the contract," the president said, handing over documents naming Yuzo as magic engineer "Ueyama Koto."
Better than being restricted as Nagano Yuzo. He signed after reviewing.
"Head to Third Division now?" the president asked.
"That's the plan," Yuzo replied.
"I'll inform the supervisor," the president said, mentioning Tatsuya's involvement.
Tatsuya's father, an FLT executive, likely faced Tatsuya's pressure. In the original story, his mistress's ambition stole Tatsuya's Taurus Silver credit. Yuzo expected similar here.
Knowing instant trust was tough, Yuzo entered Third Division and met Ushiyama, the new supervisor.
"You the kid visiting?" Ushiyama asked.
"Nagano Yuzo, or Mitsuya Yuzo off-record," Yuzo said.
Honesty suited Ushiyama's craftsman nature. He was surprised but quickly engaged.
"Youngsters these days impressive, like the young master," Ushiyama said.
"Flattery appreciated. I have a request," Yuzo said, handing over design papers.
Ushiyama's hands trembled not from fear, but excitement. The designs were for Yuzo's exclusive gun-shaped devices, "Valkyrie" and "Odin," inspired by Norse mythology.
"You designed these?" Ushiyama asked.
"Hard to believe?" Yuzo replied.
"No, your eyes show seriousness. These are decades ahead—beyond my level," Ushiyama said.
The designs, though basic, were refined. Ushiyama saw them as a foundation for Tatsuya's cartridge-storage gun device.
"The young master requested a similar device with a Loop Cast System. Can we use your designs?" Ushiyama asked.
"Go ahead. I'm asking you to build mine, and I'm joining Third Division," Yuzo said.
As remote magic engineer Ueyama Koto and Mitsuya proxy, Yuzo secured his role. He set anti-eavesdropping magic on his desk and left.
Post-Okinawa, Tatsuya, at the Izu villa, leveraged his father's FLT position. Miya, now called "Mother," approved his request for a CAD to protect Miyuki, her softened demeanor puzzling him.
Tatsuya's plan required advanced tech. Recalling Yuzo's Okinawa magic, he noted a technique copying activation sequences for rapid re-casting. Unable to replicate it fully, Tatsuya developed the Loop Cast System, enabling repeated magic within a magician's capacity.
Ushiyama's call about a Trident prototype built in three days shocked Tatsuya. Doubting but trusting Ushiyama's integrity, he visited FLT alone.
"Here's the prototype," Ushiyama said, showing a rugged gun-shaped CAD with cartridge storage.
Tatsuya adjusted it swiftly, finding it the most responsive CAD he'd used. The Loop Cast System worked flawlessly, its quality undeniable.
"Impressive, Ushiyama-san," Tatsuya said.
"Not my doing. A genius engineer, Ueyama Koto, your age, joined us remotely. His designs enabled this," Ushiyama said.
Ueyama Koto was new to Tatsuya. The Trident's feel matched Sanada's CAD and Okinawa's Third Eye Zero, hinting at Yuzo.
Ushiyama shared Yuzo's designs for two gun devices needing programs. Recognizing similarities to Sanada's Okinawa CAD, Tatsuya was certain. He sat at Ueyama's desk, emailing: "You're Yuzo, right?"
A reply came: "As expected of Miyuki's brother." Yuzo's private number followed. Tatsuya called, connecting instantly.
"Been a while, Tatsuya," Yuzo said.
"How'd you know?" Tatsuya asked.
"Video call camera," Yuzo explained.
"I heard you're in Third Division. Can you help?" Yuzo asked.
"Sure, but those devices are high-end, full of black-box tech," Tatsuya said.
"They're approved by Sanada. In return, I'll handle Trident's hardware," Yuzo offered.
Tatsuya agreed to program the devices, recognizing Yuzo's world-class skill.
"Let's team up. Taurus Silver?" Yuzo suggested.
"Your name's not in it," Tatsuya noted.
"Too complicated otherwise," Yuzo said.
With Ushiyama as supervisor, the Taurus Silver Project launched, debuting Silver Horn and Force Silver devices alongside the Loop Cast System, cementing FLT's global magic engineering status.
