Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Teyvat Continent

Looking at the torn tent fabric in his hand, Bai Mo didn't throw it away but instead packed it back up. Even if it was trash, it might still come in handy someday.

Standing up, he surveyed his surroundings. He seemed to be near a mountainous area, with continuous highlands to the west and relatively flatter terrain to the east, consisting of rolling hills. After some thought, Bai Mo decided to head east, hoping to find a river along the way. Following a river might lead him to a settlement.

With his long sword now in hand, Bai Mo remained on high alert. After all, this was an unfamiliar world where anything could happen, so he couldn't afford to let his guard down.

After walking for about ten minutes, Bai Mo came across a grove of trees. He noticed something red growing on one of them—were these apples? Apples from another world?

After some consideration, he picked all dozen or so "apples" from the tree. Even though he wasn't sure if they were poisonous, this was the first type of ingredient he'd discovered in this world, so he decided to keep them.

Besides the apples, Bai Mo also found yellow raspberries, brightly colored berries, and flowers emitting a sweet fragrance in the wild.

Are these all ingredients from another world? They look amazing!

While Bai Mo was busy gathering ingredients, he didn't notice a few sneaky figures observing him from a distance.

"Boss, what do you think? Does he look like a fat sheep?"

"Not really," the one called "boss" replied. "I've never seen a fat sheep so interested in Sunsettias and raspberries. He's been collecting all sorts of stuff like that."

"That guy's even picking Sweet Flowers. Maybe he's a chef?"

"A chef?" The boss glanced at Bai Mo's sturdy build and shook his head. "Doesn't look like it. His head isn't big, and his neck isn't thick—doesn't seem like a cook."

"Then he must be loaded!" a lackey chimed in excitedly. "Boss, look at the clothes he's wearing and the sword at his waist. He's clearly not some ordinary guy!"

"Are you stupid? If even you can tell he's not ordinary, why would we go throw our lives away?"

"Boss, there are five of us and only one of him. Plus, he doesn't have a Vision. The advantage is ours!"

"That's true. You go first and test the waters. We'll ambush him from behind."

"Uh… Boss…" The lackey looked uneasy. "I'm not good with words. Maybe someone else should—"

"Do you need me to help you?"

"N-no, I'm good!"

After packing the gathered ingredients into a makeshift backpack made from the tent fabric, Bai Mo suddenly drew his sword and turned toward a certain direction.

"Ah… hey there, friend! I'm just a traveler passing by. What are you doing wandering around here alone?"

Wait, aren't you alone too?

Seeing the nervous-looking man, Bai Mo noted that this world also spoke in a language similar to his native tongue (Donghua). At least communication wouldn't be an issue.

"Who are you?"

"Huh? I just told you—I'm a traveler passing through. What about you? Why are you alone in Cuijue Slope? There are lots of Treasure Hoarders and Hilichurls here. Aren't you scared?"

Treasure Hoarders? Hilichurls?

No way…

Did I end up in Teyvat?

Hearing these familiar terms, Bai Mo studied the man before him and asked, "How far is Liyue Harbor from here?"

"That's quite a distance. Head southeast until you hit the main road, then go south. It'll take about three or four days to get there."

Damn, that far?

Guess this really is the real world. Unlike in the game, where you could cross Teyvat in a day, that's impossible here.

I wonder if this world has teleport waypoints.

To gather more information, Bai Mo decided to engage with this unexpected passerby and ask some questions.

"Ahem… hey, bro, want some fruit?"

Bai Mo pulled out an apple, a few raspberries, and some fruits resembling wax apples—probably Sunsettias from the game.

The man didn't hesitate and took them, eating casually. He had watched Bai Mo gather these earlier, so he wasn't worried about poison.

Meanwhile, Bai Mo was grateful for the free poison tester.

"Bro, you're traveling alone too. Where are you headed?"

"Cough… I, uh, I'm visiting family in Qingce Village. What about you?"

"Oh, I'm lost. I was originally going to Liyue Harbor to meet a relative. He said he became one of the Liyue Qixing and wanted me to work under him."

Bai Mo's tall tale made the man freeze mid-bite.

"Gulp—" He swallowed hard. "Y-you mean the Liyue Qixing?"

"Yeah. Pretty famous, right? He even asked me to come back from abroad."

Is this guy bragging?

Everyone in Teyvat knows the Liyue Qixing—the administrators of Liyue under the rule of Rex Lapis, the Geo Archon Morax!

Damn, if our boss robbed this guy, would we even have a place left in Liyue?

Instantly, the man's attitude changed. "Ahem… bro, which of the Qixing is your relative? The Tianxuan or the Tianshu?"

"I think it was the Tianxuan or the Tianshu… I can't remember."

"Bro, how about I escort you to Liyue Harbor? I know this area like the back of my hand!"

Of course he did—he'd been robbing people here for years.

"No need to trouble you, bro. Just point me in the right direction. I'm not weak—I can take on ten guys at once!"

Take on ten?!

Good thing we didn't attack. There are only five of us!
