Chapter 1 - Chapter One: Cyber Click Games

Mid-city... 9:46pm...

"I am very suspicious about this new game teenagers have been blabbing about." Kora said.

"You mean the Cyber Click Games?" Sandra inquired.

 "Of course."

They were walking back home, ignoring the bustling streets and noisy people.

"I have been playing the game. I believe DC made rte game. It features their characters but I also see other interesting characters. Tye most interesting game from my own perspective is Aces Up." Sandra explained making Kora sigh.

"You too. Aren't you too old for games?" Kora said with a bored look on her face.

"Age is just a number." Sandra replied.

"Well, it isn't."

"Cyber Click Games are indulging. You need to try it out. There are so many games that..."

"That's enough, Sandra. I don't want to hear anymore about your Cyber Click Games." Kora rolled her eyes.

Their walk became quiet and Sandra got herself indulged in the internet.

"Oh my goodness!" Sandra exclaimed and Kora sighed.

"What happened?" Kora asked, visibly bored.

"Teenage footballers went unconscious at the local football match." Sandra said and that piqued Kora's interest.

 "All of them?"

"All of them. It's quite shocking and it says here that the police are still investigating on what might have been the cause. It also said that seven of them slipped into a coma while the others are yet to wake up." Sandra informed.

"That is indeed shocking, hard to believe and mysterious. Are you sure the news is true?" Kora said. She hated fake news and scamming more than cats and that was what made her avoid the Cyber Click Games.

"Of course it is true." Sandra rolled her eyes.

"They might have been poisoned or something."

"Poisoned can't be an option or they would be dead already. It is probably something else. Let's leave it for the police to solve." Kora concluded, not wanting to take the discussion any further.

They took a turn into the lonely street of McWayne. The twitching street lights added to the isolated ambiance to the quiet street.

The noisy sound of clanking metal resonated throughout the noiseless streets. Kora and Sandra turned, taking notice of the fallen metal trash can on the other side of the street.

"Are you sure one of those crazy criminals are not on the lose?" Sandra assumed. She always thought things weirdly and Kora was a very good friend to still be able to keep up with Sandra.

"That cannot be possible. Apricot was arrested five months ago according to the news, she hasn't made an attempt to escape."

"Yet. She hasn't made an attempt to escape yet. That should be very suspicious, don't you think?"

"Yeah, it is." Kora replied and they both didn't notice the silhouette that moved on the roof tops silently.

"If I had been a detective, I would have done a pretty good job at cases." Sandra bragged and Kora rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, you...argh..." Kora gurgled when a razor card cut through her throat.

Sandra gasped as she saw the drops of her skin. She was shaken seeing so much blood pool out from Kora's throat. She looked forward and found a young girl dressed in a black and white suit. Her face was painted white and the sign of ace was painted on her eyes with the color of black. she looked exactly like the fictional game character, Ace in Aces Up.

"Ace..." Sandra said out in shock.

"Oh...so you know who I am. This is a good game I see here. I'll spare you...for now." Ace winked and jumped on a roof, disappearing in the darkness of the night, leaving Sandra to Kora's dead body.

The next day... Mid-City Police Department...

Dustin Stallone entered the office where his colleague, Clementine Walton was. She was going through a file and she barely noticed the new presence in the office.

"Did you hear the news this morning?" Dustin asked.
