The sky above Eldharyn cracked like shattered glass.
Lightning tore across the heavens, raging through thunderclouds that pressed down like judgment. In the center of the sacred field—where seven towering pillars stood—a lone figure knelt.
His body was battered.
His black cloak was torn.
Blood dripped from the corner of his lips onto the glowing runes beneath him.
Kaen Valcarys.
The Last Sovereign. The undefeated ruler. A living legend.
And yet, here he was—on his knees, surrounded by those who once vowed to fight beside him.
Seven figures.
Seven traitors.
They were leaders of the realm. Brothers. Friends. Students.
Now... executioners.
Kaen let out a low, bitter laugh.
"Lucien... you even wore your ceremonial robes," he rasped. "So holy. So pure. You stain this place more than my blood ever could."
Lucien, High Priest of the Light Order, looked down but said nothing.
Della of Salveron Mountain—a sworn loyalist—turned her gaze away.
Kaen's burning red eyes scanned them all. "You think the world will be safe without me? That peace will follow my death?"
"Kaen," Vahr stepped forward. His voice was heavy. "You've become too strong. Too dangerous. No one should wield that much power."
"No one?" Kaen smirked coldly. "If not me, then who? You? Lucien? Some trembling child who's never held a sword?"
No answer.
Only silence.
The magic circle beneath him began to glow brighter.
A forbidden soul-sealing ritual—one that could only be cast once in a millennium.
"I won't die quietly," Kaen whispered.
From his back, dark flames rose. Spectral shapes formed—souls—spirits of those he had reaped with his cursed power. They screamed and circled him in fury, creating a maelstrom of spiritual fire.
"He's activating the Soul Reaver!" Della cried out, backing away.
"Complete the seal! Now!" Lucien roared.
Too late.
Kaen drove his sword into the ground, eyes wide with fury. Reality trembled.
And then... the Void opened beneath him.
A swirling abyss, blacker than death, devouring light and silence alike. A realm where even gods are forgotten.
Kaen Valcarys sacrificed his body. But not his soul.
He vanished into the Void, dragging the spirits of the fallen with him. And before he disappeared—
He spoke.
> "I will return.
And when I do... the world will fall with you."
---
For fifteen years, the world forgot his name.
But now, the Void has opened a path. A new vessel. A second life. No glory. No throne. Just memory, scars, and one purpose:
> Vengeance.
Death.
Judgment.
The Void Reaver has returned.
And this time, no one will survive to betray him again.
