Chapter 1: Huh! I have family now

Roan was the kind of boy the world forgot.

In the halls of his school, he walked like a shadow—avoided, overlooked, then hunted. Bruises beneath his sleeves, blood dried beneath his fingernails. The laughter of others rang in his ears more cruelly than silence.

He didn't know his father. His mother drank until dawn. His home was a box filled with rot.

And every day, he was reminded: you are nothing.

Until something inside him finally broke.

It was raining the day he brought the knife to school.

He wasn't thinking clearly. Or maybe he was thinking too clearly—for the first time in his life. His eyes didn't tremble. His steps didn't waver. The four who had cornered him behind the gym—laughing, pushing, like always—they didn't even see the glint of steel until it was too late.

One by one, they fell.

Not like in movies. There was no glory in it. Just chaos. Screams. Blood soaking into the wet dirt. And at the end, Roan stood there, panting, bleeding himself, finally free… and utterly alone.

He staggered out into the street, hand pressed against his side where one of them had stabbed back in a last, panicked strike.

And when he fell, he smiled.

The world faded.

And that was how Roan died—not as a coward, not as a monster—but as a boy who tried to fight the chains around his soul, even if it cost him everything.

---

But death was not the end.

It was a beginning.

---

A soft warmth.

The scent of lilac and something sweet.

Roan opened his eyes—slowly, blinking against a gentle light—and found himself cradled in arms far warmer than anything he'd ever known.

His limbs were tiny. His body felt weightless. He couldn't speak, only look, as a face leaned over him…

Her hair flowed like silk, a deep royal purple, cascading down to her waist. Her violet eyes shimmered with tears as they stared into his.

"My little star…" she whispered, voice trembling. "My Roan…"

And he knew.

This was not Earth.

This was not the broken life he left behind.

He had been reborn.

A new world, one bathed in magic and color, in softness and strength. And in this new life, he had a mother who held him like he was the most precious thing in all existence.

Her name was Lyria Elion—and she was beautiful in the way dusk is beautiful: quiet, regal, and tinged with mystery.

Then another face appeared—brighter, louder, full of laughter.

A young girl, maybe five years older than him, leaned over and giggled, her large rose-pink eyes wide with wonder.

"Is that really my baby brother?" she gasped. "He's so tiny! Like a fuzzy tomato!"

Her hair was a wild mane of vibrant pink, tied with flower-shaped clips, bouncing with every word.

"Be gentle, Selene," Lyria smiled, her voice like soft wind over calm waters.

Roan blinked.

Mother.

Sister.

Warmth.

Home.

Everything he never had before.

He couldn't form words, but something deep in his soul cried—not out of grief, but a strange, overwhelming joy.

---

Days passed. Then weeks. Then months.

He learned to crawl, then to walk. And all the while, he remembered.

He remembered the broken world he came from. The pain. The rage. The freedom bought in blood.

But this world was different.

The skies were brighter. Magic hummed in the air like distant music. His sister taught him how to chase butterflies. His mother sang lullabies that made the stars seem closer.

And on the night of his fifth birthday, everything changed.

---

That night, Roan stood on the balcony, staring up at twin moons above the Elion estate.

Suddenly, the world grew quiet.

Then, in the back of his mind, something stirred.
