Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Birth and Decisions of a Candidate Leader

On the continent Vangelia, there are 17 main races.

1. Humans: The most adaptive species. Weak in physical aspects or magic, but possess unlimited potential. Skilled in learning and developing technology/systems.

2. Elves: Long-lived beings with a close connection to nature and magic.

High Elf: Noble elves, masters of pure magic and ancient knowledge.

Dark Elf: Shadow elves, skilled in dark magic and illusions.

Wood Elf: Forest dwellers, united with nature, experts in archery and healing.

3. Dwarf: A short but agile race, experts in weapon forging, mechanical technology, and defense. They live in mountains and highly value honor and tradition.

4. Orc: Large and muscular, physically strong, known as fierce warriors. In this world, Orcs can have complex or primitive cultures depending on their region.

5. Beastkin (Human-Animal): Humans with animalistic features such as ears, tails, or fangs. Their abilities and traits depend on the inherited animal type (e.g., wolf, tiger, bat, cat, owl).

6. Dryad (Tree Spirit): Spiritual beings living in ancient trees. They possess powers of healing, plant growth, and nature magic. Vulnerable outside forested areas.

7. Sylphid (Wind Creature): Humanoid wind entities. Fast, agile, and skilled in illusions and wind element control. Often used as spies or messengers.

8. Swampdine (Undine + Mirefolk): A combination of water spirits and swamp creatures. They master water magic, swamp poison, and mist. Their appearance is somewhat strange, slimy or scaly.

9. Salamander (Fire Creature): Elemental fire beings capable of producing magic fire, resistant to heat, and skilled in close-range attacks or explosive magic. Their appearance often glows or smolders.

10. Gnome (Earth Creature): Elemental earth beings. Small like Dwarf but more aligned with crystals, minerals, and earth. Experts in defense, traps, and geological magic.

11. Construct (Artificial Creature): Beings not naturally born, but created through magic or technology. They are loyal, unemotional, and very powerful depending on their creator.

* Homunculus: Humanoid versions created in laboratories. Often used as assistants or magical soldiers.

12. Umbra (Shadow Controller): A mysterious race that masters shadows and darkness. Can sneak, disappear, and attack from dark dimensions.

* Noctari: Elite sub-race capable of transforming into mist or shadows, and absorbing light.

13. Dragon: Legendary creatures that are very strong and difficult to kill. They can shapeshift between full dragon and humanoid forms.

* Infernal: Based on hellfire.

* Glacial: Powers of ice and absolute freezing.

* Storm: Powers of storms, lightning, and wind.

* Abyss: Dark and corrupt, mastering poison and destruction.

* Celestial: Sky dragons, sacred and wise.

* Chrono: Masters of time, very rare and dangerous.

* Spirit: Spiritual dragons aligned with the spirit world.

14. Oni (Physical Demon): Humanoid beings with horns who are physically strong. They possess extraordinary durability and destructive power. Usually live in tribes or combat clans.

15. Rakshasa (Tiger Demon): Demonic beings in tiger form or human form with tiger patterns. Skilled in illusions, magical claws, and brutal strength. Aggressive and hunt like true predators.

16. Cambion (Half-Demon): Children born from relationships between humans and demons. They possess high magical power but are unstable, sometimes outcast by both worlds. They have the potential to become heroes or great enemies.

17. Goblin: Small and intelligent but cunning creatures. Can form primitive communities or high-tech cities depending on evolution. Rapidly develop and adapt.

Although there are 17 main races, due to a past war where humans fought against 16 races alone, they lost the war. However, because of that war, a new teaching emerged where races other than humans are considered failed creations of the gods from the great cathedral of the eastern empire. Many believed and began to follow their teachings. Thus, it was not uncommon to see elves or other races used as slaves on city streets in every kingdom and empire. Some even became sex slaves.

A person named Damilus, a human with elf blood, was formerly a worker from Earth at a telecommunication company. Due to his background, many colleagues disliked him, and further, because his superior praised his performance, those who disliked him continuously tried to sabotage him. One day, after he had returned from work, someone secretly used his computer to make a large transaction using company money. When he came to work, everything was fine until the big boss came out angrily and said in a loud voice, "Who used a large amount of company money without permission?"

"Masaru, boss, I saw him make a transaction last night. If the boss doesn't believe me, you can check his computer," someone said, pointing at Masaru. The boss then went to Masaru and checked Masaru's computer, and indeed, the boss found a sum of company money used to pay for a transaction. The boss, seeing this, was furious and disappointed at the same time. After that, the boss ordered his assistant to call the police. The police arrived and arrested Masaru. Without defense in court, Masaru was imprisoned for life. Before he died of old age, he swore that if he returned, he wanted everything that happened here not to happen, and if allowed, he wanted to be a good superior.

When he opened his eyes again, he saw an unfamiliar place and an unfamiliar atmosphere. Although the sky was blue and the clouds white, he seemed no longer on Earth but in a strange place. When he stood up, he was surprised to see dragons flying and several unique creatures. Although he was confused, he went near a river and saw that he was not in Masaru's body from the real world. He was confused, but then a voice from afar called him, "Onii-chan, food is ready, come back quickly". Somehow, he recognized that voice. It was Liana, his younger sister, 15 years old, of mixed Elf father and human mother blood. Damilus (now Masaru), 18 years old, like his sister Liana, was of mixed blood. Their father was Paul, 70 years old, an Elf. Their mother was Salasiah, 35 years old, human.

Initially, they lived safely and peacefully without any disturbance. This made Damilus think that he had gotten what he wanted when he was on Earth. But one day, a group of guards came, claiming to be royal guards, and their purpose was to arrest Damilus's entire family, including Damilus himself. They knew this because they had heard rumors spreading to the royal palace. They said that anyone who did not hand over the human and elf family would be considered a traitor and would be sentenced to death. However, the villagers, who were fed up with discrimination against non-human races, tried to deceive them, but it did not succeed and instead caused one of them to be stabbed to death. The villagers, seeing this, became angry and attacked the guards. Nevertheless, some of them helped Damilus and his family to escape because they knew it was impossible for them to defeat the royal guards with hoes and some farm tools.

Damilus and his family fled into the forest and occasionally peeked out. Until night fell, Damilus and his family decided to go back to the village because they no longer saw the royal guard troops. But what awaited them were not the villagers, but scattered corpses and burned houses. Smoke from the burning houses covered half the sky, and blood was everywhere. Damilus, seeing this, felt it was even worse than his time on Earth. He secretly resolved in his heart, "I will not forgive the system that caused these innocent people to die. I will let them continue to run the system with their arrogance so that one day they will see a small system that will gradually grow larger and make their man-made system nothing compared to that big system". With an angry and slightly sad face, he said that in his heart. "Damilus turned back, looking at the path they had come from. Smoke still billowed in the distance, a symbol of the old world left behind. However, in his heart, a promise was etched: 'I will not run again. This is not an escape. This is the beginning'".

The question for reader is: can Damilus realize his dream?

Even if he wants his dream to come true, will he have to leave his family and go on a journey to realize his dream?

Short answer: maybe, but it depends on how determined he is and how much the other races trust him.
