I stood in front of the mirror.
My long, purple hair reached all the way down to my waist.
My pale white skin almost glowed under the sunlight pouring into the room.
My purple eyes seemed to stare into the void — both frightening and filled with pain.
This is me.
Kimura Kurumi.
I'm a 15-year-old girl.
And I'm a Stellizer.
Stellizers are the ones who clear out the dungeons that appear in our world.
These dungeons contain monsters — and Stellizers, like me, are ranked based on the kind of destruction they can cause with their weakest attack.
The ranking system, from weakest to strongest, goes like this:
G, F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS, Z, and Ultimate.
A G-rank can destroy a single building.
F-rank, three buildings.
E-rank, ten buildings... and so on.
At the top, Z-ranks can wipe out a solar system, and Ultimate ranks can destroy multiple.
I'm ranked E.
Well… supposedly.
I walked to my desk and picked up the paper lying on top of it, reading as I made my way to the kitchen.
I set the paper down on the kitchen table and started making coffee.
Just then, a small glowing blue ellipse appeared before me.
Inside it was Haruto Tanaka — Vice Captain of the Tokyo Team.
(I'm part of the Tokyo Team.)
"Hey, Kuru—"
"You're about to ask me to take a mission, right?"
"Ahaha… You caught me."
"I'm going to take it anyway. Doesn't sound too hard."
"Well… It's harder than you think. Two supervisors will be there."
"Supervisors?"
"Yeah. One S-rank and one A-rank. You need to deal with them first — and make sure no one notices."
"Who do you think I am?"
"Right?"
I picked up the paper again and read it.
Five targets to eliminate in a D-rank dungeon:
Ren Yamamoto, D-rank Stellizer
Souta Inoe, D-rank Stellizer
Sakura Tanaka, E-rank Stellizer
Kaori Gojo, E-rank Stellizer
Ishikawa Itachi, C-rank Stellizer
But how am I supposed to tell which ones are the supervisors?
Well... I'll figure something out.
Once the coffee was ready, I drank it slowly.
I opened the fridge and saw it was completely empty.
Only then did I remember I hadn't gone grocery shopping in three months.
With a sigh, I downed the rest of the coffee in one go, slammed the mug down on the counter, and walked to my room.
I put on my Stellizer uniform — a pure black suit that offers protection against monster attacks.
Because of its lack of color, monsters can't detect it.
Honestly, I love the design. I'd wear it in daily life if I could.
But we're forbidden from wearing it outside missions.
I headed toward the front door.
Opened it.
And left.
The dungeon was nearby — strange how I didn't notice it before.
Maybe because it was low-level?
I kept walking.
About ten minutes later, I arrived at the dungeon.
Everyone else was already there.
"Sorry I'm late, everyone. I'm Kimura Kurumi."
A tall, well-built man looked at me while holding a list in his hand.
He had short brown hair slicked back, brown eyes, and deep facial lines — he seemed over 40, but still in great shape.
"No problem at all, Kimura-san. I'm the one in charge of this dungeon operation.
Ren Yamamoto."
I walked toward the group as Ren continued, his tone warm.
"I was honestly surprised when I heard a 15-year-old was a Stellizer.
At first, I thought we were being pranked.
And when you were late… well, I was sure of it."
"People usually think I'm too young."
A woman spoke up — shoulder-length, wavy light-blue hair, blue eyes, a sharp yet pretty face.
She looked 170–175 cm tall, with a slim figure and a serious but cute vibe.
Around her mid-20s.
"I could be mad for wasting my time… but I'll forgive you.
I'm Sakura Tanaka. That's all you need to know."
Her voice was high-pitched and arrogant.
"A-uh… Understood…"
Then a man spoke — 170–180 cm tall, navy-blue hair and eyes, tan skin, medium build.
His bangs were split into three rough pieces, slightly messy.
His expression was tense, almost intimidating.
Probably in his 20s or 30s.
"I'm Souta Inoe."
His voice was calm… and creepy.
I didn't like him.
Definitely a supervisor. Has to be.
Then another woman — long white hair down to her waist, blue eyes, a cheerful, sisterly smile.
Around 162 cm tall — same height as me.
She seemed heavier than me, wore sunglasses for some reason.
White-skinned, probably in her 30s.
"Kaori Gojo!" she said, smiling and adjusting her glasses.
She reached out and patted my head.
"What a cute little girl you are."
"Uhh… thanks."
Suddenly, I felt a presence approaching.
The atmosphere shifted.
I felt a heavy pressure fall on me — like death was hanging over my head.
"Ishikawa Itachi.
Nice to meet you, little girl."
I could barely lift my head to look at him.
His hair reached his jawline, colored somewhere between black and muted grey.
He stood at least 180–190 cm tall.
Though he looked slim, it was clear he was strong.
His pitch-black eyes seemed to stare into my soul.
Pale-skinned, maybe in his 20s.
He wore a black haori-style outfit with the Stellizer logo — not the official uniform.
Did he get it custom made?
I realized I was trembling as he reached out from his robe and gently patted my head.
Then Ren spoke up.
"Alright, let's head in. Everyone ready?"
"Yes," everyone replied in unison.
Ren took the lead.
Kaori followed right behind him.
Souta and Sakura flanked her.
I positioned myself just behind them.
And Itachi… walked behind me.
That's how we were going to clear this dungeon
