Chapter 2 - An Angel?

Old Hal made his way to the crater, and what he saw nearly made him drop to the floor. A body of a young man who looked to be in his early 20s lay in the crater. The body was completely naked, with everything on display, and had a fair skin tone and texture so flawless that it would put the best model's skin to shame if compared to it. His silver hair, which fell long down his back, made Old Hal wonder if he had been right to brag about his own hair length. The young man had a square jawline with a pointed nose and luscious lips. In all, he looked like a son of Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty in Greek mythology.

But what really shocked Old Hal to the bone was the otherworldly glow radiating from the young man. He knew that only a specific set of entities possessed this glow. However, the young man's glow seemed weaker compared to what he was familiar with, so he decided to get closer to the body. As he approached the young man, the blue hue in Old Hal's eyes began to fade, making way for a black hue that crept in from the sides, as if a mysterious energy within him was warning him against getting too close to the body

"Don't tell me it's what I think it is," Old Hal said mysteriously. "If it is, I guess my life here is coming to an end." His words left uncertainty, leaving it unclear whether he meant he was about to die or his entire existence in the world was ending.

Old Hal got closer to the body and place his hand on the young man's forehead, trying to inject a mysterious energy into the young man body. And the reaction he got confirmed his suspicion, a repelling energy swiftly crept out and formed a form of protective layer around the young man's body, preventing the dark opposing energy from invading the young man's unconscious body.

Old Hal kept muttering solemnly, "It's only those beings that wield this energy – the Angels. But what is an angel doing in the mortal realm? Are they making their move after staying put for so long, or was it some kind of scuffle that mistakenly dropped this young one here? Judging by his energy, I'd say he's pretty young"

"I would be getting my answers after he wakes up, I guess. And he better understand his situation quickly and not try anything funny when he gain consciousness, I'm too bored for any drama", said Old Hal after using a normal piece of stick he took from his robe to draw inscriptions in the air which moved and disappear onto the young man's body, sealing the divine energy radiating from him, making him appear like an a ordinary human.

One would wonder about the real identity of Old Hal, for him possess mysterious abilities and powers that defy the boundaries of the human world.

Far away from the forest, in a room in the royal castle which not many has an idea about,

*knock knock* , a six feet man who looked to be in his late 40s knocked and entered a room without waiting for response.

"Why would you knock if you are not going to wait for permission before entering ?" asked a pale early 40s looking woman sitting in front of a mirror, knotting a piece of dress and not bothering to turn towards the man who just entered her room. She looked extremely beautiful with her pale skin, round face with her long black hair for someone her age. But don't be deceived, just like the six feet tall man, Cyrus, she has lived for a long time, and has fought and experienced wars and histories upon histories. And she is Sophie, one of the nine guardians of the human world, ranked 4th in terms of strength and battle prowess, only below Cyrus, the man in her room at the moment.

"No response? Okay, what brought you here? It unlike you to visit this beautiful damsel on your own accord, if you have finally mustered up your courage to propose to me, you would have to hold your horses you know, I'm still considering whether to enter a relationship at the moment ", joked Sophie with a sweet smile on her face.

"Did you sense it? asked Cyrus with his stone face, ignoring her joke, yes, he is that type of person with no definition for jokes in his dictionary, and always been teased for not smiling ever in his whole living of existence.

"I did, but do you think it is them", she replied, "because the presence disappeared immediately it appeared", she continued.

"The sensation felt exactly as Lord Zuk described, so I'm pretty sure of what I am thinking. We have to contact the rest, and be prepared for anything. For both of us to sense it, I'm sure they too would have sensed it", said Cyrus, heading towards the door of the room.

"Do you think we will be under some attack ?"asked Sophie. "For a long time, there has been no movement from them, so I wouldn't be surprise if we are", replied Cyrus.

"What about Lord Zuk, any sign of him coming back? Because if we are truly under some attack, I don't think even with all the warriors in this world and we the guardians, we would be able to put up much of a fight, if how Lord Zuk described them to be is how they truly are", said Sophie.

"Lord Zuk would be back, and I believe he would provide a way to give us a chance against them. He was able to learn about their existence in a way, so I'm sure he's cooking something up his sleeve. That's probably why he left for who knows where," replied Cyrus as he made his way out of Sophie's room.
