Synopsis:
Renji Arakawa is a teenage boy fatherless and trapped in extreme poverty in the city of Minatsuki. Since the age of fourteen, he has carried the burden of being the sole provider for his frail, ailing mother and younger sister, Yui. By day, he works as a laborer and dishwasher; by night, he studies alone, clinging desperately to a single dream—gaining admission to Mizuhara Academy, the most prestigious school that only accepts the very best.
But when he finally crosses the gates of his dream, Renji is not met with warmth. Behind the pristine uniforms and fake smiles of elite students lurk monsters far more brutal than anything he'd faced on the streets.
