Jimmy returned to New York, and after a small three-person meeting with Hughes and Mahong, Hughes still hadn't made up his mind to let Jimmy go interstate for work, so he had to put up with it for now.
However, Jimmy's feeling of suffocation didn't last long. That evening, he received a text from Tom. Jimmy left his apartment on foot, not taking his car, and walked towards Central Park.
Jimmy's apartment was in the Upper West Side, not far from Central Park, so walking wasn't a problem.
At a bench in Central Park, Jimmy sat and waited for a few minutes before Tom arrived and sat next to him.
Tom, "Jimmy, have you ever thought about taking this opportunity to break away from the CIA?"
Jimmy nodded, "I don't have any special feelings for the CIA, you know, I've always been with the police and FBI." He was originally looking forward, but suddenly turned to Tom, asking in confusion, "Why bring this up all of a sudden?"
