Chapter 351 - Satania's Hasty Retreat

Like Viginette, Satania was a demon from Hell, so it was only natural that she could see the evil spirits on the streets.

Therefore, Satania didn't bypass Shin's "Presence Concealment" directly. Instead, she indirectly noticed Shin's presence by observing the evil spirits being destroyed by him.

In essence, "Presence Concealment" could achieve an effect similar to invisibility when successful. However, once someone saw through it, the concealment effect would completely fade.

"So, you're the Shin that Gabriel and Viginette mentioned at school."

In a nearby park, Shin and Satania sat on the swings and began chatting.

Since Shin didn't have anything urgent to do, it was fine to chat with Satania. Besides, she seemed quite interested in him.

According to her, Gabriel and Viginette had mentioned Shin at school, so Satania and Raphael, being fellow demons and angels, had also remembered his name.

However, Satania didn't know what Shin looked like. Although Gabriel and Viginette had photos of Shin on their phones, they seemed unwilling to show them to others.

"Hmm... you don't look particularly special. Why wouldn't they want to show us your photo?"

Satania's evaluation of Shin's appearance was quite unique—normally, Shin's looks would be considered top-tier, but in Satania's eyes, he was "nothing special."

This showed that Satania's criteria for judging human appearances weren't based on whether someone was handsome or ugly, but rather on whether they had any distinctive features.

At least in her eyes, Shin fell into the "ordinary" category, plain and unremarkable. She seemed a bit disappointed, probably because she had expected him to look more monstrous or fearsome.

"Sorry for being so ordinary-looking."

Shin's mouth twitched. This was the first time he had received such an evaluation—after all, his looks had attracted quite a few confessions from girls.

However, considering Satania's personality and intelligence, it wasn't surprising that she would make such a comment. Shin didn't mind too much. "But what are you doing out so late? I saw you dealing with evil spirits earlier?"

Satania quickly shifted the topic away from Shin's appearance—not because she felt her comment was rude, but simply because her mind worked in a straightforward, impulsive way.

Her words confirmed Shin's suspicion: she had noticed the evil spirits disappearing, which indirectly revealed his "Presence Concealment."

"This morning, there was a strange magical fluctuation nearby. I discovered it was caused by a group of evil spirits gathering, so I came to capture them."

Shin calmly delivered his fabricated explanation—after all, Satania was Gabriel's friend, and there was a chance the two might discuss this later.

If Shin gave different explanations to Gabriel and Satania, it could lead to his cover being blown. Therefore, he naturally used the same story for both.

"Magical fluctuation...?"

A look of pure stupidity appeared on Satania's face before she suddenly clapped her hands, as if realizing something.

"Oh, right! Hell sent me a message this afternoon too, telling me there was strange magic nearby and asking me to investigate! I completely forgot!"

It was no wonder Satania was labeled a fool. Not only had she forgotten the task assigned by Hell, but she had also casually mentioned "Hell" in front of Shin.

Satania, however, didn't seem to notice this at all. It was unclear whether she was truly that clueless or if she assumed Shin, being friends with Gabriel, already knew about Heaven and Hell.

Even the somewhat dim-witted Satania seemed to realize that Shin had already obtained the target of her investigation and was planning to hand it over to Gabriel.

This made Satania panic—although she was friends with Gabriel and Raphael, she still had a sense of duty as a demon from Hell.

Heaven and Hell were in competition, and this item couldn't be allowed to fall into Gabriel's hands and be handed over to Heaven. It had to be given to Hell by her, the future Great Demon!

She quickly turned to Shin, putting on a serious expression—though her face still radiated a sense of foolishness no matter how hard she tried:

"Shin! Can you give that thing to me instead? I can offer a higher price than Gabriel!"

"Huh?"

Shin was momentarily stunned, not expecting Satania to try and compete with Gabriel for the magical crystal he had created by compressing evil spirits.

It seemed his lie was quite convincing? Both an angel and a demon had been fooled?

Well, Satania was fooled because she was too simple-minded and lacked critical thinking. She'd probably believe anything Shin said—if it were the other angel, Raphael, it might not have been so easy to deceive her.

But from Satania's tone, it seemed she thought Gabriel had bribed Shin with money?

"Let me tell you, Gabriel's living allowance isn't as much as mine."

Satania puffed up with pride, lifting her head as if looking down on Shin.

"If Gabriel can afford it, I definitely can too!"

She wasn't exaggerating. Her living allowance was undoubtedly much higher than Gabriel's.

Gabriel's performance had been lackluster, so Heaven had reduced her allowance by 20%. In contrast, Satania, who was always full of energy, had received a 5% increase from Hell.

On top of that, Gabriel spent most of her money on online games, so Satania's financial situation was indeed much better.

"However, Gabriel didn't pay me with money."

Shin smiled and wagged his finger, rejecting her offer.

"Unless you can offer a more substantial reward than Gabriel."

"No problem, whatever she offered, just name it!"

Satania's declaration made her sound like a wealthy patron. She always saw Gabriel as a rival, so she would never back down in a competition with her.

Seeing Satania's confidence, Shin leaned in and whispered into her ear, slowly revealing what Gabriel had done.

Satania's expression shifted from confidence to surprise, then to panic, and finally to a deep blush:

"Th-this kind of thing... how could she do it so casually!?"

Her reaction was somewhat similar to Fujiwara Chika—both Satania and Chika seemed to lack common sense in some areas but were surprisingly pure in others.

Sure enough, upon learning that Gabriel had used her first kiss to secure Shin's help, Satania immediately deflated.

She wasn't very close to Shin, so there was no way she could imitate Gabriel's actions.

"D-damn it! Just you wait, I'll definitely find a way to make you abandon Gabriel and join me, the Great Demon!"

Unable to come up with a solution, Satania scratched her head, frustrated, and stormed off after delivering her threat.

But from her final words... it seemed she had set her sights on Shin.

However, Shin and Satania didn't attend the same school, and given Satania's level of intelligence... Shin wasn't worried in the slightest.
