Zara twisted midair.
Her arms were spread out, one leg extended back.
Her body caught the motion like a current.
She spun. Light. Controlled.
A pirouette, in the sand.
She landed with one foot pointed, knees soft, arms curved above her head. The sand spiraled beneath her like applause.
Silence.
Then—
"Holy shit," Nadia exclaimed.
Cheers erupted.
Even other resort guests outside the team clapped.
Gina folded her arms across her chest, trying to hide her shock. "Showing off again like she still dances."
Zara didn't look at her. Or at Ace. Or Kendrick.
She tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, her face beaming with joy. Even though her heart was still thumping widely in her chest.
She hadn't done that move in ages. What if she had fallen?
"You should be in the ballet. What are you doing here!" A lady yelled excitedly from outside the group.
