"Don't let me loose my temper, Mira! I'm warning.." He spoke firmly.
His warning was clear but as stubborn and utterly curious as I was I still had the want to find out why he had accepted his fate so weakly–something I sincerely knew wasn't a part of Liam..and he knew it.
But what exactly was he cooking…
I just needed to find out.
"Liam, I'm just here because I want you to understand that the fate of Cridwan is in your hands." I paused for a short while to watch his reaction. "And I believe that you are the rightful one to lead the pack next.
I watched him closely and in the next minute he suddenly got up and walked towards me with heavy steps, then before I could think further he had pinned me to the wall.
"Do you think I can't get out of this tunnel if I want? Or have they sent you here to provoke me? If yes, then go back and inform them that I, Liam, will never go on my knees to beg."
With that he released me and returned back to the large stone.
"But I can help you Liam, and I wasn't sent by them. I hate them so dearly much too. I just don't want the future of Cridwan to be at risk." I said thinking my reply to convince him..but…it didn't.
He snorted and turned around to look at me. "Never will I ever believe you again, Mira. And don't think because we have a mate bond that you can be used as a snake to get me because I have repeated this several times Mira Masha, I reject you as my mate and I'll do it all over again for a million times."
His words sent daggers into my chest, but since I had never liked him nor our mate bond, it never seemed to have an impact on me emotionally, but…I just stood there.
Like a dummy looking at a Demi God…
"I understand.." was my simple reply.
"But.." I seemed to want to put some fuel into the already burning fire.
"The ceremony begins today which means that your execution is in a day time. I think you should think we'll about your decision and pull off your pride and speak to the gen-" Before I could finish a large thud hit the ground and the walls began to shake violently that I nearly fell to the ground.
"You really love to play murderous games, huh Mira?" His expression was cold, calm and a streaking evil smirk cupped on his face as his cold eyes were fixed on me.
"Liam please I didn't mean to anger you." I could hear the shouting and howling of the witches and wolves and the earthquake became more and more violent each second.
"Get out now! Before I loose my temper even more." He said with a calm yet harsh and heart stabbing voice.
As I rushed out, I hid by a corner in order to hide myself from the guards that were approaching the tunnel and suddenly I felt a great force pull me into a cave.
"Karl.." I muttered as I breathed in relief.
"Oh my god..you got me scared to my lungs." I continued.
"What on earth is wrong with you Mira?" He asked and I realized that the earthquake had stopped immediately I stepped out of the tunnel meaning that to Liam I was the cause of his frustration and anger.
"I just went to see if I could get some sense into his head, but it looks like I really don't have the right as his mate."
"You shouldn't have risked your life like that.."
Risked my life?
It clearly meant that I was the only one who saw Liam to be harmless but cold on heart and that was just a part of him that couldn't be changed.
"Well.. did you succeed?" Karl added.
With his question I realized that he also wanted Liam as the leader of the park as that was just the rightful thing according to the moon goddess.
"No.." I replied. "And the execution is a day to go."
"Why is he this stubborn?" Karl sighed. "I really feel like the ex Luna didn't teach him the ways of the werewolves and that's why he believes that he isn't one. You know I really don't believe he is an Immortal."
"He thinks I betrayed him, Karl. But I have been trying to find out what exactly I had done to anger him this much. He looks at me with anger and hatred in his eyes and moreover…he rejected me as his mate but I can still feel the bond."
"That means that he hasn't truly rejected you." He replied and peeked slightly out if the cave. "I think it's clear now. Let's head out for the ceremony."
I nodded and we rushed out of the cave like two thiefs that had some blood on their hands.
"Mother.." I rushed to her embrace.
"Oh Mira..where have you been? I have been searching everywhere for you."
"I was with Karl all day, he thought me some of the history of werewolves." I smiled brightly as Karl stood behind me and my mother's eyes sparkled with joy.
"Does this mean you want to send more time with other young wolves to get another mate? That's so good of you, Mira." My mother's eyes sparkled even more irritating me to my kidney.
He pinched both my cheeks and I could only moan in pain.
"You too go have some fun now and make sure to listen to every word said in the ceremony." She said as she left while waving continuously.
I turned to Karl and he had a flushed face which angered me even more.
"Why are you smiling so much?" I asked with disdain slightly clear in my voice.
He said nothing and we headed to get a perfect stop in the front line where the ceremony would take place.
The ceremony was a traditional worship and sacrifice given to the moon goddess as a means of Thanksgiving to her mighty self.
After all the parades, the talking followed in which was one of the boring parts in the ceremony.
"Good wolfs and magic creatures." Magic creatures were referred to as witches and wizards.
"I welcome you all to the opening of the academy and this is not just like any we all know as there are going to be certain changes." The general addressed as everyone suddenly became so interested in his speech including I and Karl as we turned a couple of times at each other in confusion.
After a short while of silence, he continued. "Now in the academy, no immortal will be allowed in and from now on every immortal will be sacrificed to the moon goddess."
Everywhere was suddenly filled with whispers while some began to shout in happiness as they hailed the general for his 'right decision'.
My thoughts went to Liam and it turned out that they actually had the intention to sacrifice him to the moon goddess.
Would she take him?
Would she actually take the soul of the next leader?
A powerful soul that dueled in him…
Although I knew very well that he was aware of the great power in him, he just didn't have an idea of the responsibility that lay before him.
The opening of the academy would mean that every single young wolf, witch, or wizard would be closely watched..
