Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: Outcasts?

Chapter 39: Outcasts?

Yang Bo was ready to make a run for it. These guys' bombs weren't ordinary ones—their crazed expressions gave that away.

Yang Bo wasn't thinking of sneaking away. Looking outside, it was like an iron barrel—he didnt know how many experts were out there, and these guys had also released some dangerous substances into the underground pipelines.

Plus, there was firefighting foam everywhere...

"You, install the bombs and then follow us. We're going to drive out the people hiding down there."

  "Yes, Captain."

Yang Bo heard footsteps approaching and hurried out as well. But as soon as he peeked out, he saw a person pulling bombs out of one box after another. The bombs were cylindrical, about ten centimeters in diameter and twenty centimeters tall.

The person carried the bombs into the house. Yang Bo was about to slip away, but another person emerged from the opposite side, startling him into stepping back.

A laser beam flashed at the door, followed by a thud.

"What's going on?" a voice shouted from outside the control center corridor.

"There's someone hiding." The person installing the bombs replied.

Yang Bo was nearly scared to death. The next second, as Yang Bo was about to stand up, the person installing the bomb suddenly stopped at the door, dragging the box.

Yang Bo was just inches away from the other person. The next second, Yang Bo's hands sparkled with sparks as he revealed his true form. The person bending down to pick up the bomb was startled—a naked man...

The next moment, Yang Bo grabbed the man's head with both hands, and the man twitched once before going silent.

  Warship Maintenance +8!

A stream of information entered Yang Bo's mind, and he instantly understood that these people had infiltrated the warship disguised as maintenance personnel.

Yang Bo removed the man's helmet and discovered that he was already dead, his hair completely charred.

Upon closer inspection of the armor, he found it to be unusual, resembling the functionality of gene warrior armor.

Gene warrior armor is primarily defensive, similar to the bulletproof vests worn by police on Earth, capable of withstanding attacks from small-scale energy weapons.

"No need for a chip," Yang Bo transformed into this person's appearance, with long golden hair, put on the helmet, and stripped everything off to put it on himself.

These guys definitely didn't have biochips; otherwise, they would have been easily detected.

Looking at his newly transformed self, Yang Bo felt no fear at all, but rather some anticipation...

The bomb still needed to be planted. When Yang Bo emerged, he found that some companions were already driving away those hiding, while others—genetically enhanced warriors resisting—were being blown apart by laser guns. Though their armor provided high defense, some were still killed. Those killed were immediately sprayed with a liquid from a bottle by their own people, and their bodies vanished.

Yang Bo followed the crowd to the dome concert venue, which was packed with people but eerily silent. On the central stage, the red-haired figure was killing people.

"Sins cannot be forgiven. I declare: execution." The red-haired figure had already disposed of over a dozen people on stage, and Yang Bo still didn't know what was happening.

  Then one person was beheaded.

There were twenty mechs at the concert. Yang Bo looked closely and realized they were all exhibition mechs. How did these people manage to control the mechs?

What organization was this Red Count, and who were they killing?

Then the red-haired man started rambling again, talking about dawn, darkness, divine punishment, and spokesmen. It seemed like this organization believed itself to be righteous knights, following the orders of some great figure, aiming to restore the glory of an empire.

Yang Bo's mind was filled with thoughts of how to escape. These guys now had so many hostages, and while the authorities hadn't dared to act publicly, they must have taken action behind the scenes.

"Don't let them catch you off guard and kill you."

Yang Bo was now extremely anxious and tense, because he was now part of an extremist organization. He had already witnessed the official authorities' power—not to mention mechs and aerial combat aircraft.

Even the sword-like things he had seen on billboards before.

Don't let the official authorities kill you...

"Damn it, these bastards…" Yang Bo sensed the mecha, ready to deploy it at any moment.

Just then, the ground shook twice. The red-haired man laughed arrogantly: "We've installed over six hundred high-radiation bombs throughout the building. If you have the guts to detonate them all, then all the peasants here will die, die, die."

  Yang Bo froze. "Commoners?"

"These commoners are a waste of space, a burden. They should be turned into stinking mud and used as fertilizer." The red-haired man continued.

Yang Bo finally realized, "Shit, he's talking about the residents!"

The radiation from high-radiation bombs is fatal to ordinary residents. For genetically evolved beings, it depends on the dose. However, even with such advanced technology, there are still various types of radiation in space that humans cannot detect, including some meteorites that are visible to the naked eye but cannot be detected.

High-energy particles and cosmic storms in the universe can destroy even the most advanced human warships. Humans seem to have conquered the cosmos, but in reality... no one knows how many dangers lurk in the dark cosmos.

"Bastard." Yang Bo wanted to shoot this scum dead. "So what if I'm a resident? You're just lackeys of the nobles, scum."

"Follow me." The captain pointed at Yang Bo and his group, then walked toward the central stage and then toward the通道 below the stage.

However, before they could enter, they were knocked flying by a massive shockwave.

Yang Bo and his companions leaped to their feet. The red-haired youth was still muttering to himself when a mecha saw the scene, leaped into the entrance, and violently destroyed the entire underground passageway entrance.

The area below the stage was very spacious, over ten meters high. The blue mecha leaped inside, but the next second, it flew backward.

Yang Bo looked at his companion who had been crushed to death and shuddered.

"This is bad. There's at least an A-rank ancient martial artist inside," the mecha suddenly shouted.

"Haha, these fallen ancient martial artists can only become the lackeys of the powerful," the red-haired youth laughed heartily, his battle armor shimmering with a brilliant glow. He transformed into a silver streak of light and vanished inside.

"Energy metal," Yang Bo recognized it immediately. Battle armor made from energy metal could amplify one's own energy, but it was said to be extremely expensive, extremely expensive.

The next second, the man flew out, with a palm print on his silver battle armor.

"Pfft!" The man coughed up blood, and blood sprayed from the gaps in his face mask.

"Captain." The people around him, wearing armor, rushed over to check on their captain.

"Come out. You ancient martial artists are all about righteousness, aren't you? If you don't come out, I'll kill everyone. You have ten seconds. All mechs, come here and follow my orders." The red-haired knight waved his long sword, pointing at the countless people crowded around him—the elderly, children, and women.

Yang Bo was behind the red-haired man, watching as twenty mechs gathered together, most of their weapons aimed at the stage exit, while a few used various weapons to target the people on the concert stage.

"Red Earl, are you really going to oppose our ancient martial arts association?" A voice rang out from beneath the stage.

"Haha, we're contemporaries. Others might be intimidated by the Ancient Martial Arts Association, but we..." The red-haired knight spoke up to this point, his eyes going blank, then his entire head exploded instantly, and a figure in black armor flew backward.

"Ah!!!" The other black-armored figures snapped to attention. Their leader had been shot in the neck with a laser gun by their own people, and they all raised their laser guns.

The next moment, a massive figure appeared—a blade mecha. Countless laser guns fired at the mecha.
