Kelsey's POV
{BBC – 9:30 A.M.}
After finding my way to Kate's floor, she was there waiting for me already.
I followed her through a hallway that smelled like strong coffee and too much cologne. The financial department compound office wasn't anything fancy... just a large room packed with people and wooden divider desks that barely offered privacy. It was noisy, too. Phones rang, fingers clacked on keyboards and a few heads turned the moment we walked in, and I could already feel the heat of their stares crawling on my skin.
Kate led me to an empty seat tucked between two desks. The chair squeaked when I sat. She smiled and handed me a clear mug filled with iced coffee, just the way I liked it... no sugar, just strong enough to keep me alert.
"Thanks," I muttered, wrapping my hands around the cool mug.
The murmurs started the moment she stepped away.
"Is that her?" someone whispered.
"The one from the rumours? The slut from Fiona Doyle talked about?"
