Chapter 92 – Rocks Is Dead, An Era Ends, and the World Plunges into Chaos!
Susanoo's blade sliced through space itself.
Such terrifying power—was this the strength of a god?
This kind of power should belong to them, the Celestial Dragons. Why did this lowly scum have it?
Even now, they weren't afraid for their lives. Instead, what they resented most was that such power was wielded by someone so unworthy.
"Prepare to retreat."
A cold voice rang in Saint Saturn's ear, and upon hearing it, he understood—Imu's final move was coming.
"Block it with everything you've got!"
Saint Saturn shouted, and each person unleashed their strongest attack. The remaining members of the Holy Knights, who had been watching through the livestream, rushed in. Excluding Saint Garling and three others, eight members had now gathered.
Nine people unleashed their strongest blows.
Armament Haki burst through the air in dazzling colors, and strange, terrifying Devil Fruit abilities appeared one after another.
It was impossible not to be awed by the depth of the World Government's power.
For the last eight hundred years, they had relied on more than just the Marines. The Marines were merely one of many violent organizations under the World Government's command!
A magic circle appeared above Saint Saturn's head, then rapidly expanded to envelop the entire island.
"Tch, looks like it's time to go."
Saint Garling scowled at Whitebeard. This exhilarating fight had come to such a sudden end.
"This guy..."
Whitebeard's face darkened as he looked at Garling. His chest throbbed with pain.
Though he had been wounded in the fight, Garling hadn't come out unscathed either. Still, it seemed the man had no intention of continuing. Instead, he turned to the magical formation in the sky. What kind of ability was that?
"Rocks, your era is over!!!"
Taking advantage of Rocks' distraction with several Holy Knights, Garp and Roger struck from either side, aiming at his head.
Rocks was already at the end of his rope. He could no longer dodge. He stared wide-eyed as two fists, clad in Haki, slammed toward him. His own Haki had long since been depleted.
As the fists struck his skull with force, a trace of desolation appeared in Rocks' eyes. He had lost. His ambitions remained unfulfilled. And he still hadn't seen how far that man would go.
In his mind, the image of Renji—radiant and brimming with confidence—remained.
Rocks thought back to his early days at sea. Back then, he had been just like Renji. He believed the new era belonged to the young, and the old should return to their coffins. The world no longer needed them.
With that belief, and extraordinary talent, he had become the ruler of his time.
Back then, he had been just as ambitious as Renji.
But now, after so few years had passed, the words he once said—the bullet he fired into the future—had come back and struck him down.
Even if his opponents' methods weren't honorable, a loss was a loss. To Rocks, no excuse mattered.
"Rocks is down."
Looking at the lifeless body of Rocks, Roger felt a pang of indescribable sorrow. But there was no time to dwell. He saw Garp and the others already shifting their attention toward him.
He wasn't going to be their next target.
He immediately turned and ran.
His mission was complete. Time to regroup with his crew and check if any treasure had been found, then leave.
But with that towering Susanoo in the distance and the magical formation in the sky... Roger was thoroughly spooked. He had to leave—God Valley was cursed!
"Captain, we found two treasure chests! According to the intel, there should be Devil Fruits inside, right?"
"Really?!"
The Roger Pirates were gathered around the two chests. When they saw Roger approaching, they quickly made way.
They eagerly reported the discovery to him.
"Oh? Let me open them!"
They actually found them?
According to the information, there were six chests, each containing a Devil Fruit.
That meant he had gotten two!
Roger was curious—what kind of treasures did the Celestial Dragons stash away?
He opened both chests, one with each hand. But instead of Devil Fruits, what lay inside were two babies. Roger's face instantly fell.
"What the hell is this? Where are the Devil Fruits? Why are there babies?!"
Inside the chests were a red-haired baby and a blue-haired baby, both wailing loudly the moment the chests were opened.
"What do we do, Roger?"
Rayleigh and the others hadn't expected babies either. But now that the chests were open, they couldn't just leave them behind—especially not in God Valley.
"Take them. They're our spoils of war. The red-haired one will be Shanks, and the blue-haired one will be Buggy. From now on, they're interns of the Roger Pirates!"
Roger looked at the babies and grinned. He suddenly felt like having two little ones on the ship might be kind of fun.
Leaving them here in God Valley would be a death sentence.
And they couldn't leave without any loot—so the babies would do just fine as their prize.
"Two baby interns, huh?"
Jabba looked at the infants in Roger's arms, finding the idea oddly amusing.
"Let's go. We're not staying in this cursed place any longer. I've got a bad feeling something terrible's about to happen."
Roger glanced at the sky. An ominous premonition filled his heart.
With that, he led the crew away—fleeing in the opposite direction of Renji's fully formed Susanoo.
On the island, as news of Rocks' death spread, the morale of the Rocks Pirates collapsed. Many had already decided to flee.
"Jiehahaha! That bastard Rocks is dead, huh? Looks like it's my era now."
Golden Lion looked down, then swept everyone in his path aside with a sword strike as he flew toward the outskirts of God Valley.
"Everyone, we're going back to Beehive Island!"
Wang Zhi looked back at the pirates behind him. With Rocks dead, there was no longer any point in staying here.
He planned to return and seize control of Beehive Island. There was no point in staying here any longer.
"Damn it, damn it, damn it—where's the treasure?! I didn't find a single thing!!"
Although Captain John had already heard the news of Rocks' death, he hadn't managed to get any treasure during this whole operation. That left him bitterly unwilling to leave.
Even knowing it was time to retreat, he couldn't just leave empty-handed!
"Saint Saturn, how pathetic—you're pretty fragile against my slashes, aren't you?"
Renji looked down at Saint Saturn, whose body had been severed at the waist. His upper and lower halves were completely separated, and he was now in a near-death state.
The battlefield was a complete wreck. Saint Saturn was gravely injured, and the other Holy Knights had all sustained varying degrees of serious wounds.
At that moment, they were all locked onto Renji. If he intended to keep fighting, they were prepared to sacrifice themselves to hold him here until that final attack came and annihilated everyone.
Just as Renji was about to deliver the finishing blow, a dazzling white light came streaking down from the sky. Renji's eyes flashed with surprise.
Imu had made a move?!
He glanced at Saint Saturn—he was already half-dead. His body, severed by spatial slashes, couldn't be reattached; part of it had even been swallowed by the spatial rupture. His Mythical Zoan powers were merely keeping him alive.
To be safe, Renji was going to finish him off.
But then, he saw something that caught his attention—Saint Saturn's body was slowly repairing itself. Even after being cut apart by space, he could still recover? That regeneration...
Renji's eyes lit up. Controlling Susanoo's bow, he fired an arrow straight into Saint Saturn's heart. Saturn seemed to sense something, but having already been mentally shaken by the slash, he didn't notice in time.
He tried to resist instinctively, but it was already too late. Two sealing marks appeared—one on his heart, the other in his brain.
Once the marks were complete, a smile played at Renji's lips. With a regeneration ability this powerful, Saint Saturn would make the perfect blood bag.
Whenever Renji lacked stamina—drain Saturn.
Whenever he was low on life force—drain Saturn.
And if Saturn ever thought of rebelling, he could instantly extract every last drop of his vitality.
Just like that…
He had no choice but to become Renji's puppet.
Renji then looked up at the blazing light crashing down from the sky.
No time to waste—he had more important things to do. He turned off the livestream, dismissed Susanoo, and made his way to the battlefield where Rocks had fallen.
Everyone else had evacuated by now. Only Rocks remained, standing in the center, though lifeless.
Renji sealed Rocks' corpse into a coffin and stored it inside Kamui's dimension.
Then he quickly found Old John.
"Let's go, idiot! Stay any longer and you'll die!!"
This guy really didn't want to live, still hunting treasure at a time like this?
"Renji?!"
"Hurry! The island's about to be wiped out. Forget the treasure—stay here any longer and I'll inherit all your loot!"
"You bastard!!! I treated you like a brother, and this is how you mess with me?!"
Old John had been reluctant to leave, but when Renji said he'd take all his treasure if he died—he couldn't accept that.
He'd spent half his life collecting that hoard—no way would he let Renji take it!
"Let's go!"
With that, Renji threw an arm around John's shoulder, and the two of them teleported to where Kaido and the others were.
"God Valley is going to be destroyed. We're leaving."
"Mm."
Kaido had been planning to leave already, but stayed a bit longer to see if Renji would make it. If not, he'd become captain by default.
But Renji had returned—so now, he could only follow quietly.
[Ding! Fate of Saint Saturn altered. Reward: 1 Lottery Chance!]
[Ding! Fate of Kaido altered. Reward: 1 Lottery Chance!]
[Ding! Fate of Kuma altered. Reward: 1 Lottery Chance!]
Three lottery chances?
Renji was a bit surprised. He'd thought Captain John might earn him a chance too.
But thinking it through, it made sense—John wasn't that important in the original story. He was more of a legendary background figure, not a core character, so changing his fate didn't count.
Still, three was a decent number.
Within the magic circle, Saint Saturn slowly regained consciousness. Though something felt off with his body, he didn't have time to think about it. He began transferring all their people out of the formation.
With Imu's final strike, God Valley vanished instantly—wiped off the map. A giant whirlpool began swirling beneath the sea where the island had stood, swallowing it completely into history.
From afar, Renji gazed at the disappearing island with a hint of emotion. Feeling his stamina constantly regenerating, he couldn't help but feel a little glad he hadn't killed Saint Saturn, but marked him instead.
What would he have gained by killing him?
Pretty much nothing.
But now that he had marked him—Saint Saturn had become a living energy bank. No wonder Mythical Zoan users were famous for regeneration.
Draining his vitality and stamina felt amazing.
Back in Mary Geoise, Saint Saturn frowned as he sensed his energy leaking away.
This had never happened before when using that magic circle...
Was it because of the massive strain from being cut in half?
"Draw."
Renji whispered to himself, and the lottery wheel began spinning.
[Ding! Lottery complete. Congratulations—you've obtained: Voice of All Things, Devil Fruit Side Effect Removal Scroll, and Top-Tier Armament Haki.]
These three?
Not bad at all for Renji right now.
His Armament Haki had now stepped into top-tier. The Devil Fruit side effects were gone, and he had also acquired the Voice of All Things—a power that both Roger and Luffy possessed!
That ability wasn't even considered part of Haki. It was innate—rarer than even Conqueror's Haki.
