Hours after that arrogant, overgrown, pompous asshole Kai stormed out of the tent — with his smug face and rough hands — I was still sitting on the cold, hard ground. My back rested against the rough fabric of the tent wall, one hand pressed to the tender spot on my brest where he'd grabbed me earlier. Every breath sent sharp pain radiating through my bruised ribs, and my skin ached from where his fists had landed. It felt like my whole body was one giant, throbbing bruise.

I didn't cry though. I wouldn't give him that satisfaction. Bastard would probably jerk off to the thought.

The daylight crept in through the small gaps in the tent's fabric like a lazy, unwanted guest. I counted every minute, every hour, because I knew what was coming. They were gonna drag me out of here, throw me into that death pit of a training ground, and either beat me down to a pulp or break me in half trying.

Good luck with that. I've taken worse.
