Evan's Journal

Month 1, Day 29

Location: Hau'oli City

Time: 06:00 AM

The city is still half-asleep, but I'm already wide awake. The salty breeze coming in from the ocean smells clean and sharp this early, and the faint orange hue in the sky tells me dawn hasn't fully broken yet.

But for us? It's already go time.

My team and I are behind the Pokémon Center, on the open training field. The ground is a little damp from the morning dew, but that isn't stopping anyone. I've set today's goal: 15 full laps around the training field—no exceptions.

Thorn, Trixie, and Grip are pacing hard—wings flapping, legs pounding. Thorn's dark wings slice through the morning light like blades; Trixie hovers low with surprising speed for her size, and Grip—man, that little bug's stamina is no joke. He charges along the dirt path like it owes him money.

By lap ten, they're on the edge—breathing hard, thoraxes trembling, legs buckling. But they don't stop. Not once. Even when their bodies say

"Enough," their eyes say,

"again."

They dig deep.

They push on.

And somehow, they make it.

Fifteen laps. Done.

Afterwards, they collapse—right there on the field, wings sprawled, limbs twitching from strain. I walk over, drop to one knee, and activate Bugforce. I can feel their fatigue, muscle tension, and the fraying edges of their stamina. With a focused pulse of Bugforce, I help ease their exhaustion, like patching up a torn net with glowing thread.

Because today isn't just about endurance.

Today, we begin something new: Lightning Flow Training.

And yeah, if Kishimoto ever finds out, he might send a lawyer. I'm trying to recreate Lightning Release Chakra Mode—anime-style. But hey, inspiration comes from everywhere.

Here's the idea.

In the anime, ninjas channel lightning chakra throughout their bodies, boosting strength, reflexes, speed, and even durability. It lets them move like thunderbolts—blink-and-you-miss-it fast.

Now, we don't have chakra, but we do have lightning energy.

And my Pokémon? They're no strangers to it.

Thorn and Trixie have experience shaping electricity with Electroweb, while Grip has Spark—his internal generator. What I'm teaching them is to circulate that power within themselves, not just release it outward. To use lightning to enhance their bodies from the inside.

It's experimental. It's messy.

And it's awesome.

Trixie shocked herself and crashed into a thistle bush. Thorn almost scorched the tips of his wings. Grip built up so much static that a patch of grass got fried into blackened toast. But that's how learning works—trial by thunder.

And slowly… it starts working.

Thorn's jabs begin to whistle through the air, sharp and swift.

Trixie blurs mid-air, surrounded by a faint electric shimmer.

Grip's legs move faster than ever—he leaves sparks in his wake.

It's not perfect. Not yet. Their control wavers. Their bodies move faster than their minds can track. Coordination is a hurdle. But it's clear—they're adapting. Adjusting.

And soon, they'll master it.

This is the start of something big.

I can feel it in my bones.

Next stop: Melemele Meadow.

Bright, breezy, and buzzing with life—it's the perfect place to explore today. Who knows what kind of Bug-types or wild surprises we'll find? Maybe even something worth adding to the team...

Let's see what the meadow has in store.
