"Surely, you're insane-brave enough to threaten me. I'm impressed," Zane commented coolly, raising the knife to her chin.
He raised her chin just enough to force her frightened, teary eyes to meet his unforgiving stare.
Selina swallowed hard, a lump forming in her throat as she lowered her gaze from his chilly eyes. "I'm just a helpless girl desperate to escape jail and fix my messed-up life. I have no intention to provoke you. I promise it won't happen again,"
"That depends on how desperate you want to live." His voice was devoid of emotion, but it was an opportunity she needed to seize wisely.
