Do the nobles really plan to ignore the monster flood? Jett stared flatly at the fairy. Yeah, that's never worked out well.
It wasn't hard for Jett to picture nobles who believed commoners had no place in the world.
He'd grown up manaless, hearing plenty that made him wonder if there was any place for him at all. That doubt had pushed him to seize a chance to change, and that second chance now bound him to the common folk—and to seeing this monster flood through to the end.
"So whose turf is Artemis Forest on?" Jett asked.
"Uhhh, I think it's the Mist Cloud Dukedom!" She fluttered in a tight circle.
"Where's the heart of your forest?" he continued.
She crossed her arms and proudly puffed out her generous chest. "Okey‑dokey! Only a fairy like me can zip you to our forest's heart—it's hiding in another dimension! Follow me, follow me!"
"Hold up. I still need to hear from the commoners traveling with us," Jett said, shaking his head.
