Chapter 43
Friday morning....
I entered my class, only to find that my table and chair were gone. I scanned the room, confused. "Seriously, who is trying to frustrate me this morning?" I turned to the class and asked them if they saw anyone taking them, but they just looked at me and went back to what they were doing.
With no spare seat available, I decided to report the issue. However, there was no teacher around, and I couldn't go to the staff room. "Oh my God, this is stressful," I muttered to myself.
As I stepped out of the class, I spotted Chuchu leaning against the wall. "Oh jeez, seems someone is looking for her table and chair," she said with a laugh.
"Chuchu, however I have offended you, please forgive me," I said, mocking her. "Isn't that what you want to hear?"
Chuchu smirked."You know what? Bang. I just want to make you miserable."
Chuchu's words dripped with malice as she said, "I can tell you where you can get your chairs and table." Her tone was laced with a sinister sweetness, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. "Mm, just go downstairs and you'll see it," she said, her voice trailing off as she walked away, leaving me to wonder what lay ahead.
I followed her directions, my feet heavy with trepidation. The stairs seemed to stretch on forever, and I felt a sense of foreboding with each step. When I finally reached the spot where my chair and table were supposed to be, I spotted them under the staircase, in a dimly lit area that seemed to reek of neglect.
But it was what was written on them that made my heart sink. Insults and graffiti covered the surfaces, a cruel message scrawled in red letters. I felt a wave of humiliation wash over me, and I wondered how I was supposed to carry this to my class.
Just as I stood there, frozen in shock, a group of students emerged from the shadows, their faces twisted in cruel grins. They began to pelt me with water ballons "Oh my God!" I exclaimed, my voice barely above a whisper, as I felt my dignity slipping away with each passing moment.
Water balloons rained down on me, splashing against my skin and clothes. I raised my hands in a futile attempt to block the barrage, my eyes scanning the crowd for the culprits. That's when I saw Chuchu, her face twisted in a malevolent grin. Her eyes gleamed with a sinister light, as if she derived pleasure from my misery.
The water balloons pummeled me from all sides, a relentless onslaught that left me gasping and disoriented. I felt like I was being swept away by a tidal wave, my senses overwhelmed by the sheer force of the attack. But just as suddenly as it had begun, the barrage ceased, and I sensed a presence interposing itself between me and my tormentors.
Chuchu's voice sliced through the air, a sharp rebuke that commanded attention. "Stop! Stop! Stop!" she cried, her words a stern warning that seemed to freeze the very atmosphere.
I raised my head, my eyes stinging from the water, and my gaze locked onto Jason's. He stood like a bulwark in front of me, his eyes blazing with a fierce intensity as he watched the students, his taller frame holding me in a...hug or maybe i would call it..a shielding??Chuchu's voice was directed at them, her tone unforgiving, and I felt a surge of gratitude towards Jason for intervening.
For a moment, the world seemed to hold its breath, the only sound the gentle patter of water droplets on the ground.
Who knew he had it in him to be so protective? Chuchu's sharp rebuke seemed to have done the trick, and the students had stopped, their faces sheepish and apologetic.
He turn to me. A hint of amusement danced in his eyes as he asked, "Is getting into trouble your hobby?" His voice was low and teasing, and I felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment.
I looked up at him, my eyes locking onto his, and replied, "I swear, it's not! She started it." My voice was barely above a whisper, but Jason's eyes sparkled with understanding.
Just then, Chuchu rushed over, her face a mask of innocence. "It's not what you think," she said, her voice smooth as silk. "We were actually playing together." Her eyes met mine, and I knew she was trying to spin a web of deceit.
The student turned to go,but jason wasn't having it. he stopped them with a single, authoritative phrase: "Where are you all going without apologizing?"
The students shifted uncomfortably, their eyes darting between Jason and me. One of them stepped forward, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm sorry. She made us do it," she said, her finger accusingly pointing at Chuchu. The others echoed her apology, their words tumbling out in a chorus of regret.
I stepped away from Jason, my eyes locked onto the students. A spark of determination ignited within me, and I spoke, my voice steady and firm. "Whatever she promised you, I will do it times ten. I want you to do the same thing she did to me back to her." Chuchu's eyes widened in horror, her face paling as she realized the gravity of her situation.
"Wait, are you crazy?" she exclaimed, her voice rising in panic. But the students merely nodded, their faces set with determination. They retrieved water balloons and plummed her with it, the sound of splattering water and Chuchu's cries filling the air. I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at the sight of her, drenched and helpless.
But my triumph was short-lived, as a teacher intervened, her voice ringing out across the courtyard. "What is going on here?" she demanded, her eyes scanning the scene before her. The students scattered, leaving Chuchu drenched and furious, her eyes blazing with hatred as she glared at me.
