Chapter 28 - 2,000 Bone Tempering Pills

It took quite some time for the Leon clan youths and even senior members to settle down from the earlier excitement.

In the Youth training hall of the Leon clan there was an interesting thing happening right now.

While training after the atmosphere was quite, a few particularly strong and composed young elites exchanged glances with each-other, then stepped forward together. Among them, Leon Fang one of the top talents with a cultivation of Bone Tempering Stage Sixth Layer took a step ahead, raising a hand for silence.

"Even if our guesses are true," Leon Fang said seriously, looking around at the others, "since Ancestor Leo has chosen not to reveal anything himself about his cultivation, it's best that we pretend we know nothing. None of us are to speak a word of this outside the clan. Understood?"

The gathered clan youth members nodded solemnly.

Indeed, if even they could piece things together with their limited experience, how could the clan's elders not have had suspicions? Yet none of the older generation had said a word. That could only mean one thing, either Ancestor Leo had his own reasons or plans, or he simply didn't want his power be known to the outside world just yet.

Regardless of the reason, the best course of action was silence.

"Understood!"

Everyone echoed the sentiment. And frankly, most of them had been too busy to gossip anyway. With their cultivation speeds recently boosted by a solid ten percent and an endless supply of pills they barely had time to think, let alone spread rumors. Their days blurred together under the relentless pace of training.

Leon Fang knew this well, and chose not to press the matter further.

Just then—

DONG. DONG. DONG.

Three melodious, clear chimes echoed through the Leon Clan compound, resonating like morning bells over the training grounds.

"Let's go to the courtyard"

"It's time for the monthly resource distribution!"

"I wonder how many Bone Tempering Pills are available this month?"

"Word is that Sister Lyra is already a Tier 2 alchemist now. With her reaching Tier 2 she should be able to produce more pills while practicing!"

"It really doesn't matter as we all get resource points based on progress. Most of us just get the standard 100 per month. If you want more, you have to complete clan missions or break through a realm."

"Ugh… don't even remind me. I'm turning eighteen in a few months, and I still haven't hit the Bone Tempering Stage. If I don't make it, no more free contribution points…"

Those words struck a chord with many.

In the Leon Clan, there was no distinction between main and branch families. Anyone who bore the Leon bloodline and was recorded in the clan registry received monthly resource contribution points until the age of eighteen.

After that, only those who had reached at least the Bone Tempering Stage could continue receiving them.

And even the amount was determined by natural talent:

Low-grade aptitude earned 100 points/month

Mid-grade aptitude earned 300 points

High-grade and above? A full 1,000 points per month.

Those with high-grade or better could even apply for additional resources with no hard cap, provided their requests were justified for cultivation and all of the pills were used on themselves. However, if anyone was caught abusing the system like selling or gifting those resources to others their privilege would be permanently revoked, and even past resources would be reclaimed in the original form or points would be deducted.

"Ahem. Quiet down, all of you!"

The crowd silenced as an old man in a grey robe stepped out of the hall marked with the words Contribution Hall, his voice effortlessly cutting through the chatter and silencing the yard all at once.

"The monthly resource distribution begins now. Each of you come forward when your name is called."

"Leon Chun – Completed seven Tier-1 missions last month, earning 32 contribution points. Including your monthly base, that's 132 points total."

"Leon Dei – Completed five Tier-1 missions..."

One by one, names were called, and the clan members stepped forward to claim their points.

For those who had worked hard and completed extra tasks, cheers and admiration followed.

As for those who only ever claimed the base amount and never took missions? No one mocked them out loud… but the cold shoulders spoke volumes.

It was a silent rule in the Leon clan or even any other cultivation clan in the world. The lazy would eventually be left behind.

Soon, the allocation was complete. The crowd surged toward the Treasure Hall, eager to exchange their newly earned points.

"Three Bone Tempering Pills and one Essence-Nourishing Pill, please!"

"Four Bone Tempering Pills and a Foundation Pill for me!"

They didn't even spare a glance at the weapons, formations, or assorted artifacts lining the hall. Everyone went straight for the pill section, crowding the counter like hungry wolves.

"Easy now, easy!" the middle-aged steward behind the pill counter laughed. "There's plenty to go around today. You lot don't know yet, do you? Just yesterday, Miss Lyra delivered a full two hundred bottles of Bone Tempering Pills!"

A hush fell over the crowd. Then came the collective gasp.

"Two hundred bottles?!"

"That's… insane!"

Each bottle held ten pills. Two hundred bottles meant two thousand pills.

With fewer than a hundred cultivators in the clan's youth division and many still in the Skin Refining Stage, that amount would more than cover everyone's training needs.

"No way… Sister Lyra's gone full-on alchemy maniac."

"Sure, Bone Tempering Pills are only Tier 1 peak-grade, and she's a Tier 2 alchemist. Making them isn't hard for her… but that many? Did she completely stop cultivating just to refine pills for us?"

"Looks like it. There's no other explanation for how she managed to produce that volume in such a short time."

"Say no more. Let's redeem our pills and get back to training we can't let Sister Lyra's efforts go to waste."

"Agreed!"

The mood shifted instantly as the youths of the clan were all fired up now, knowing how *hard* Lyra worked for them.

As they realized how much Lyra had sacrificed and how she had put the clan above herself many of the young disciples even felt a pang of guilt.

They'd been cruising, relying on the clan's support for their cultivation and improvement, while she had already begun to repay it.

So they all secretly thought of the same thing in their mind

From now on, they had no excuse not to work harder.

Even if it was just to be worthy of being able to help her if she needed anything, one day in the future.
