Chapter 10 - Destiny

Sona's plane had just landed at Incheon Airport.

Her heart beat wildly because she was finally home again.

Home again after five years away.

Working in New York took up a significant part of her life, but it allowed her to fulfill her cherished dream and bring happiness to her family. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond her control, she lost touch with Yoongi.

During the first few months, Sona and Yoongi wrote to each other and arranged online dates. But fate had other plans for them. Because of his busy schedule, he often did not answer calls or messages. Sona ignored his calls while she was at work. Their relationship could not withstand the distance between them. The ocean separated the two forever.

Mina rushed at her sister with cries and hugs. Sona did not recognize her younger sister in this cheerful, slender beauty. Mina had changed completely over the years. She had grown from an unpleasant, cheeky girl with a small stature into an incredibly attractive young woman with long, curly black hair and large, mesmerizing eyes.

All this had happened after Mina, still a schoolgirl, had disobeyed her mother, auditioned for Big Hit, and become one of the trainees. True, she had not yet debuted, but Mina dreamed of a stellar future.

Mina's mother also became more beautiful and began to smile more. When she found out that Sona had bought a place for her so that she could forget about the old diner and open a real café, she almost fainted. She promised to throw a grand celebration as soon as Mina arrived and invite the whole neighborhood to the opening.

"Oh, I missed you so much," said Mina, hugging her sister.

"My beautiful daughter is finally home," Mom said happily. Tears of joy rolled down her cheeks.

The three of them were now standing in the middle of the hall, hugging each other. It looked a bit odd from the outside, but they didn't care. They were overwhelmed with happiness. Finally, they were all together and at home.

They took Sona's suitcases and headed for the exit. Mina recounted everything that had happened to her over the past five years, from becoming a trainee to everything she had gone through. She boasted about the number of idols she had seen and met. She mentioned Yoongi, whom she had recently seen in the studio, but Sona didn't hear the last part. Her attention was drawn to the crowd gathered near one of the exits.

There were dozens of reporters and paparazzi. Hundreds of frenzied fans were screaming frantically. Such events had long ceased to surprise anyone as they were a common occurrence whenever idols flew into Incheon after a concert tour or actors after filming a drama.

Amidst the commotion, Sona thought she saw a familiar face. But this feeling lasted only a few seconds and disappeared as soon as she left the airport. Outside, Mina suddenly disappeared without a trace and reappeared just as suddenly.

The three of them got into a taxi that took them to Seoul and beyond. Sona enjoyed the views outside the window. She had forgotten how beautiful the outskirts of the metropolis were in spring when the trees bloomed white and pink. Once home, she felt free. After a long flight, she fell onto the bed and fell into a sweet sleep.

The day of the move had arrived. All the necessary items had been delivered and brought into the premises long ago. The furniture and kitchen utensils were ready to use. All that remained was to put the small items in their places and prepare the café for opening. Mina and her mother arrived early. They decided not to disturb Sona, as only a few days had passed since her return.

The girl woke up feeling more energetic than ever before. The spring sun shone through the curtains. She made strong tea and enjoyed its taste as she walked around the house.

She put on her headphones and went to the bus stop. The bus moved smoothly along the nearly empty city streets, allowing Sona to enjoy the short trip. Suddenly, a familiar song began to play. The title "BTS - Hold Me Tight" lit up on the screen.

Her heart skipped a beat when she heard Yoongi's voice, as if it had been pierced by hundreds of sharp needles at once. But that feeling didn't last long because Sona had long since convinced herself that the beautiful past would remain in the past. She would smile as she remembered all the unforgettable days she had spent with Yoongi. She closed her eyes and turned toward the sun, which danced on her face.

The café was bustling with activity, most of which had already been completed. She only had to add the final touches to the old diner, which held hundreds of pleasant memories from the past. The first thing she came across was a bell hanging above the diner's door, announcing the arrival of new visitors.

She picked it up, and a sweet ringing sound echoed through the room. Sona froze. A memory from the past came back to her of when Yoongi first came to her. She remembered how he stood on the threshold, smiling broadly in his coat. His eyes were shining then. The girl sighed heavily. She climbed a chair to hang the bell above the door of the new café. Now, it would announce new visitors with its ringing.

The day was coming to an end. Sona, Mina, and Mom were tired but happy and still working. Mom was working in the new kitchen, and the girls were cleaning the hallway and washing the floor until it shone.

"I'm so happy that Mom will have a café like this now," Mina said, looking around the room. "I won't have to see drunks every day anymore."

"That was probably the only drawback of the diner," Sona confirmed, leaning on a mop. "I miss the atmosphere it had." Every day was unique," she said with a smile.

"Now everything will be wonderful for us. I left my past problems far behind a long time ago. It's all thanks to you. I don't even know how to thank you," said her sister, as if hinting at something.

"Your 'thank you' is enough for me. Let's hurry up so that everything is ready for the opening tomorrow." They continued working when they heard the sweet sound of a bell above the café's entrance door. Sona hurried to answer. "We're still closed..."

The room fell silent. Only her frantic heartbeat could be heard. The girl was afraid to move, lest what she saw suddenly vanish like fog. She saw a white face, beautiful sparkling eyes, and hair that was no longer light, but chestnut brown. Yoongi stood in the doorway, just as he had five years ago when he came to Sona.

He looked at her without taking his eyes off her and remained silent. Mina watched closely, and when her mother's voice rang out from the kitchen, Mina dropped the mop and rushed to silence her mother so she wouldn't disturb this special moment for them both.

The silence lasted a minute, but no one dared to speak first. Yoongi's gaze made the girl feel awkward, but she did not take her eyes off him. Her heart screamed, wanting to say so much, but her lips did not move.

Finally, a slight smile appeared on Yoongi's face. He stretched out his right hand and held up his little finger, reminding her of the promise he had made the day before she left. It was a promise made by both of them. He promised to wait. She promised to return. Sona's heart leapt with joy, and she finally burst into tears. Yoongi spread his arms wide, begging for a hug. Without hesitation, Sona rushed to him.

"I missed you so much," she whispered, burying her nose in his chest and crying. "I'm sorry..."

"Calm down. I kept my promise. I waited for you; nothing else matters now," Yoongi reassured her. Sona listened to his sweet, beloved voice. They stood in the middle of the hall, embracing each other.

"What's going on?" her mother asked, surprised, watching from the sidelines.

"Nothing..." Mina replied happily.

"Everything will be fine now!" she said confidently.

She smiled, knowing it would be so because she was the one who called Yongi the day her sister returned home after suddenly disappearing.

On that same day, Yoongi also returned from the United States on the same plane as Sona.

Destiny gave the lovers another chance at a happy future.
