Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Departure and the Book of Missions

Having made up her mind, Kushina tapped a few times on the invisible exchange interface, then gently closed her eyes.

A moment later, she opened them again with a smile.

"I've finished my exchange too."

The red-haired girl clearly didn't want to reveal what she had just redeemed, trying to brush it off casually.

Nawaki couldn't help but find it amusing. Did Kushina really think she could hide her exchange from the system administrator himself?

[Nine-Tails Chakra Mode (Initial Tailed Beast Mode)]

Cost: 3,500 points.

While the Nine-Tails Mode granted immense power, it came with heavy restrictions—only those who were already Jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails could access it. So despite its strength, the cost wasn't as high as some other exchanges.

This exchange forcibly suppressed the tailed beast sealed within the Jinchūriki, allowing the user to extract its chakra and enter the initial transformation state. It offered a tremendous combat boost and was quite practical.

Perhaps Kushina stayed silent because she didn't want others to know there was a monster sealed inside her.

---

With the exchange complete, Nawaki brought Minato to the clan's archive room, smiling as he gestured.

"The first shelf on the left—feel free to study any of the jutsu scrolls on the top row, but don't take them out of here."

"Got it!"

Minato nodded eagerly. He understood how strict clan rules could be, and the fact that Nawaki was granting him access to even part of their ninjutsu collection was already exceptionally generous.

As Minato eagerly flipped through the scrolls like a starving man at a banquet, Nawaki stood patiently by, his gaze fixed on the transparent system screen as he began pondering the next upgrades for the Lord God System.

Thanks to the ninjutsu Kushina had uploaded earlier, Nawaki's total points had now soared to an astonishing 54,000—enough for him to invest in even more powerful features.

---

The first thing he chose to upgrade was the Teleportation Function.

Originally, the teleportation ability was already powerful but limited to a single world. After the upgrade, it would now gain a "dimensional travel" feature similar to a Reincarnation Token, allowing travel between already-unlocked worlds. This would greatly reduce both point expenditure and token consumption.

Even rookie squads like Kushina's would now be able to access missions in other worlds, massively increasing the variety of available Reincarnator Missions.

From now on, only 1,000 points would be needed to exchange for a single Reincarnation Token to unlock a new world.

"But… just this upgrade alone cost 30,000 points. Most of the savings I worked so hard to accumulate are now gone in one shot…"

Nawaki couldn't help but complain a little.

Still, it wasn't something he could afford to skimp on. Worst case, he could just squeeze more points out of the Reincarnators later.

---

Beyond the teleportation upgrade, Nawaki also spent additional points to add a few new items to the Lord God System's exchange list:

[Reincarnation Exit] (SSS-tier Exchange)

Cost: 100,000 points

Effect: Allows a Reincarnator to permanently leave the system and return to their original world with everything they've gained.

This was a particularly devious addition.

After all, not everyone liked fighting. Some Reincarnators, after enduring countless life-and-death trials, might grow weary and just want to return home, bringing their rewards with them.

To someone like that, seeing this option would feel like grabbing onto the last piece of driftwood while drowning—they'd strive with renewed desperation, only to have Nawaki drain the last bit of their value.

As for whether they'd actually be allowed to leave?

Well… that depended on his mood. If he felt generous, maybe. If not… haha.

---

[Create Life] (B-tier Exchange)

Cost: 1,000 points

Effect: Allows the user to create a loyal lifeform tailored to their preferences—appearance, race, memories, and more can all be customized. Maximum strength: D-tier.

Ahem.

With so many Reincarnators, there were bound to be people with that sort of… need. Nawaki's job was to profit off of them. With a 100% profit margin, this option was sure to be popular.

It was a perfect solution for those who trusted no one: a combat companion who would never betray them.

Of course, it could be used for… other things, too.

[Book of Missions] (S-tier Exchange)

Cost: 10,000 points

Effect: Allows the user to duplicate one of their own abilities and designate it as a mission reward. The Lord God System will then issue a mission to any chosen Reincarnator. The task cannot be declined, and its difficulty will scale with the value of the reward. Mission objectives are fully customizable.

This one was Nawaki's insurance policy.

Whenever he needed to assign a task related to himself, he could use this tool to issue it without directly invoking the Lord God's name—thus avoiding suspicion.

It was also an experiment of sorts.

If he could add new exchange options and set custom prices... then theoretically, couldn't he create a completely broken bloodline or overpowered ability and price it super low—allowing himself to get stronger instantly?

Unfortunately, Nawaki discovered there were limitations. The stronger the reward, the more points it cost just to add it to the exchange list—nearly as much as it would cost to redeem.

---

In total, these three new options cost him 10,000 points.

Combined with the 30,000 spent on teleportation upgrades, Nawaki's once overflowing account had shrunk drastically. He'd gone from wealthy to moderately well-off in a blink, now holding just 14,000 points.

Still, he didn't spend it all. He left some points in reserve.

Administering penalties to Reincarnators or recruiting new ones both cost points. If someone broke the system's ironclad rules and he didn't have the points to punish them, it'd be awkward.

Worse, the divine image of the Lord God would crumble.

And that… Nawaki absolutely would not allow.

---

"I've made my selection, Big Brother Nawaki!"

While Nawaki had been busy upgrading the system, Minato had already memorized the scrolls he wanted. He walked over, clearly satisfied.

It was his first time seeing so many high-level jutsu in one place.

"Oh? What'd you choose?" Nawaki asked casually.

"For now, I've picked the Shadow Clone Technique and a space-time jutsu… Flying Thunder God Technique."

Minato scratched his head with a bashful smile.

He understood the concept of "biting off more than you can chew." Learning ninjutsu takes time, and if he tried to memorize too many techniques at once, he wouldn't have time to train any of them properly.

It was better to focus on one or two first. They might come in handy during the next Reincarnator Mission.

"I chose the Flying Thunder God Technique because I think the Lord God's long-range teleportation ability is incredibly powerful. I want to understand space-time ninjutsu better, so I figured this jutsu created by the Second Hokage was a good place to start."

Minato explained his reasoning with a gleam of anticipation in his eyes.
