Chapter 16 - chapter 16

Ashborn watched the man place his gun on the back of Theas head, he considered just letting her die, after all he wasn't ready to expose himself to Tiger.

However he knew that would just leave a bad taste in his mouth. Fuck it, he said as he pulled the trigger. A booming sound echoed and everybody stood still.

Then slowly the guy with the gun on Theas head fell. For a few seconds nobody reacted, Theas eyes were still closed. He could read all of their expressions as if they were right infront of him.

Tigers men looked around in panic searching for the culprit but saw no one, as normal people they could not see so far, especially at night.

He had 3 bullets left and he was not going to waste them. He shot a second guy and then another. With his last bullet he shot at Tiger.

However he caught the bullet with his bare hands, this raised an eyebrow from Ashborn. He dropped the bullet and his hand was bleeding.

The bullet has not managed to go through his hand but it drew blood, this made Ashborn smile a little, glad you bleed, he whispered. Tiger turned around and looked directly at him them grinned.

He pointed at his position and his men started running towards him. He ran back to his room. Get up buddy, we have company, he said strangely excited.

He doesn't know why but the thought of playing hide and seek with stakes this high made him excited. However he didn't want innocent people to be caught in the crossfire so he went south.

The south part of the town was largely deserted so nobody would get hurt because he was certain Tiger and his men would not care who they hurt.

He looked at Shade and grinned, kill all of them. Shade growl in agreement. He climbed to the roof of one building and waited.

Before long a group of men appeared shouting. He didn't bring his guns, he had no intentions to use them, he wanted to fully enjoy the thrill of the hunt. Spread out, one of them said.

He smiled, oh, I don't think that a good idea. It seemed the Shadow Walker bloodline was effecting him in some way as the idea of stalking and silently slitting your preys throat sounded appealing to him.

It was night time, that mean shadows were everywhere somehow, that still did not make sense to him , ofcourse the moon shined bright in the sky so he still had to use the shadows of buildings to hide.

If only he could jump through shadows like Shade but alas. He watched two guys go in the direction of Shade, poor fools. He jumped to the roof of another building.

He had seen a few of them enter this building, silently he entered, from the shadows he watched them foolishly spread out.

He was stuck to the wall, invisible to the eyes of his foes. Just as one guy was passing by him he grabbed him and broke his neck. It felt easy, like a breaking twig.

It was also strange how he felt nothing but excitement even though he just killed a person. He dragged the body to an empty room close by. He heard somebody else shout.

It seemed they were calling out to the dead guy. He approached him silently and slit his throat. He closed his mouth to stop him from shouting as he gently placed him down.

With his strength he could ofcourse kill all of these guys without much effort or having to hide in the shadows but where's the fun in that.

There were four men in this room and two of them were dead. The other two were searching the other rooms. Like a ghost he stuck to the shadows blending with them perfectly.

One of them came out and before he could react his head was sent flying, Ashborn caught it and his body before they could fall and placed them down gently.

Did you guys find anything? The last man asked but no answer came. Guys, are you there? He watched as the man started to panic, he held his gun tightly.

He tried to run when Ashborn stepped out of the shadows and looked at him, the man raised his gun and pointed at him. Stop, don't move or I'll shoot.

Ashborn tilted his head, why didn't you shoot? He was genuinely confused, he thought all of Tigers men would shoot first and ask questions later.

What? The man asked. Why didn't you shoot? I'm your enemy, your boss ordered you to kill me so why didn't you shoot? I...I don't want to do this.

Tiger forced us, if you don't obey him he will kill your family. Oh, does that go for all of you? No man, most just follow him because they want power, the prize he offered for your head is really high.

That man is a monster but working for him does have it benefits. I see, so what should we do about this? You're making things difficult for me you know that? He said.

If I thought all of you were just assholes it would be so much easier to kill you. Did...did you kill the others? Yes, will that be an issue? No all of them were from Sticks faction, they deserved death.

Whose that? Tigers right hand man, the guys under him are all ruthless, they're the ones who are given the jobs to deal with humans because Tiger knows they wouldn't hesitate to kill even a child.

The rest of us are instead used as canon fodder against the corrupted or for other mundane jobs. I was just unlucky to be here man so please don't kill me.

Don't worry, I won't, he said as he turned around. He took two steps then slightly moved his head as bullets passed next to his him.

He sighed, I knew I shouldn't have trusted you, he said as he approached the man. If you're not part of that faction then why would you be here?

Ofcourse you could attributes it to simply being unlucky but that sounds like a lord of rubbish to me, he said as he shoved his dagger into the mans heart.

Also, you're not a very good liar, even though you tried to act innocent your eyes held nothing but greed, he could see the fear and despair in the mans eyes as his life slowly left his body. They must've heard those gun shots, I should move, he wiped his blade on the dead mans shirt and left the building.
