Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

As he had expected, before long a group of men reached the building, there were more than 30 of them. By that time he was already on the roof of another building but before he could hide in the cover of the shadows one of them spotted him.

Gunshots echoed as bullets flew at him like rain. He ran and jumped down dodging the fiery rain of lead. He ran towards Shade and the men chased.

Shade rose from the shadows like the incarnation of death, his claws the reapers blade. Every swing split a man if not multiple apart.

Blood and entrails flew in the air, Ashborn was not to be left behind either. Like wind he ran amongst them and heads flew, none could follow his movements, none could escape his blade.

Tiger was getting close, he could smell him, he nolonger had time to play hide and seek, exciting as it was. Before long only a few of them were left.

The remaining men were shivering In fear, barely able to hold their guns, they might not have expected a massacre like this. He came out of the shadows and stood before them.

Drop your guns and you might see another day. He had lost interest in killing them, they were too weak, even their guns barely did anything. Not only was he so fast they could not even follow his movements, he was as hard as steel too.

The few bullets that managed to land did nothing but bounce off, they did hurt but not enough to deter his slaughter, he had experienced far worse pain than the mere stings of bullets.

The men having lost all courage after witnessing his power dropped their weapons and ran off. Come out, I know you're there, he said.

Tiger came out behind one of the broken down buildings a hundred metres away from him. He clapped his hands, impressive, truly impressive.

To kill so many of my men without having a single scratch, only a bloodline holder can achieve that but i don't sense any bloodline nor blood essence from you so tell me, who are you?

It doesn't matter who I am, you have terrorised this place for long enough, it time you pay you debt. Pay my debt?, hahahahaha, you a funny boy aren't you?

I have no debt, I own this place and everything in it, including the lives of the puny insects who call it home, here, I am a God, this is my kingdom.

I have a proposition for you though boy, work for me and you can have whatever you want, any woman you want and all the food you can eat, you won't even have to work for it.

A man of your skill can be of use to me. Hahaha, anything I want? Have you seen this place? Look around, there's nothing here to have, this place you call your kingdom is a shit hole, you're a king of shit holes Tiger, you no different from the ones you call insect, you are just a slightly larger insect.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Tiger frowned after what the boy said, it was not the first time he had been called an insect. Tiger was from a clan of bandits, their leader was a blood essence condensation stage expert.

He was one of the few who were granted a bloodline by their leader. He had always believed himself to be above the mundane humans.

Even if he was only at the first rank, he was still much stronger than them and could live for over 200 years, much longer than any human, he had thought himself a god, a chosen person.

That was until he met him, a scion of one of the larger clans. The man was at the same rank as his boss yet he watched as their leader was killed like it was nothing, he was nothing but a child,no more than 20 yet he single handedly destroyed their entire clan.

Most of them died that day but not him, not because he was special no, simply because his enemy did not think he was the worth the effort.

He may have lived that day but that was his greatest shame, that was one of the reason he was so oppressive to those weaker, deep down he knew he was just trying to convince himself he was not an insect like them.

That he is better, that he is stronger, that he can live like a king while they fight tooth and nail everyday to survive. He had been ruling this place for seventy years without being challenged, living his dream, yet.

Now there was a boy calling him an Insect, how could he allow that, how could he allow a mere child to insult him like that. Without another word he attacked.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Ashborn did that on purpose, he may not know Tiger but he doubted anybody who would address themselves as a God would take lightly to being called an Insect.

He wanted to provoke him, to cloud his mind with anger and it worked. Tiger moved, his body blurring towards him. Ashborn could read him like a book.

Even though Tiger was a stage higher than him he was somehow slower. This was the benefits of a higher graded bloodline. A flurry of claws came at him.

He dodged them without much effort, there was no skill behind those attacks just pure rage. He will win, he knew it. As long as Tiger is clouded by anger he had no chance against him.

He ran around dodging swing after swing. They were moving so fast all others could see were blurring shadows. Tiger roared to the sky like a wild animal.

His onslaught did not stop nor did it waver, he was too blinded by his own rage, his eyes had turned red. He was too far gone, Ashborn knew he had already won this fight.

He could see Tiger men watching from afar, they were anxious and he could also sense Shade in the shadows, he was following them but did not attack, he would not attack without an order.

Their dance lasted for an entire minute before he decided it was enough, during the entire time he kept provoking Tiger, making him angrier and angrier.

The angrier he got, the more unrefined and wild his movements became. Deciding it was time, he swung his dagger at Tiger, intending to behead him with a single strike, he was stronger and faster that was for certain so there was supposed to be no issues.

Tiger had no way to dodge or counter attack, or so he thought but before his dagger could behead Tiger a punch landed on Ashborns nose.
