The next day which was a Sunday Casper was woken up by the sound of laughter.
Opening his eyes he saw his mom and sister having a discussion and laughing.
Since today was a Sunday Mrs Margaret wouldn't go to work.
"Good morning mom, good morning anny", Casper greeted
Mrs Margaret and anny stopped talking and looked back at Casper.
"Big brother it's already afternoon", anny said.
"Afternoon???" Casper asked while looking at the clock which said it was currently 2 : 50 pm .
"Good afternoon Casper" Mrs Margaret said with a smile.
"Why didn't you wake me up???" Casper asked.
"You looked tired and I didn't want to disturb you,so I let you sleep",Mrs Margaret replied.
"Big brother Casper how was your night???" Anny asked as she went to give him a hug.
Immediately anny asked this question Casper's face twisted as he remembered the nightmare he had yesterday night . It felt so real, he could feel their anger, pain and hatred in their voice.
Before he could sink in further into self guilt Mrs Margaret voice rang out.
"The food is in the fridge, you can take it out and warm it up",she said while smiling at him.
Casper nodded as he stood up and went to the fridge, took out the food and warmed it up.
After eating Casper went to brush his teeth and take a bath, before coming back to the Parlor to watch a movie.
A knock was heard on the door.
Casper stood up to answer it.
"Who's there" Casper asked while making his way to the door to open it.
"It's us" a voice said from the outside.
"Come and open the door ", another voice said
Casper recognized the voice as that of his friends.
Opening the door he saw Joe, Henry and Cassie looking at him while smiling.
Casper looked at them suspiciously while letting them in.
"You guys are smiling suspiciously" Casper said.
"What man is it a crime to smile???",joe said while throwing his hands around Casper's shoulders and pulling him in.
"Good afternoon brother Casper", Casper heard a voice say.
He looked down and saw Joan.
"Good morning Joan" Casper said while lifting her up.
"Where is Anny" Joan asked
"She's in the parlour", Casper said while letting Joan down on the floor.
Joan immediately took off to go find anny.
"So what are you guys doing here???", Casper asked.
"What's up with all the questions??? , is it a sin to visit our dear friend???", Cassie asked.
"I guess not", Casper said while scratching the back of his neck.
Immediately Casper walked into the parlour he heard a collective shout.
"Happy birthday", they all shouted in unison while smiling from ear to ear.
Casper was startled by the shout, he looked around the room and saw a banner which said happy birthday and a cake with 16 written on it.
"Happy birthday man" He heard joe and the others say again.
Tears immediately swelled up in his eyes as he went to hug them, he was deeply touched by what they did for him.
"How, how did you guys do this" Casper asked.
"It was your mom idea, she wanted to do something nice for you on your 16th Birthday". Cassie said
Casper looked at his mom with tears in his eyes, "thanks mom" he said.
"You're welcome sweetie" she said with a smile while pulling him in for a hug.
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you...."they all sang the birthday song with Casper in their midst smiling like an idiot and holding a knife to use to cut the cake.
"Come on man blow out the candle and make you wish" Henry said while patting Casper on his back.
Casper nooded while blowing out the candle.
"I wish to be an awakened" , he said before blowing out the candle.
A loud cheer was heard coming out of the rest as he blew out the candles.
"Come on cut the cake" Cassie said while eyeing the cake greedily.
Henry slapped her at the back of the head.
"Damit woman you look like a predictor looking at it's prey with the way you're looking at that cake" Henry said.
Cassie rubbed the back of her head as she glared at Henry dangerously.
Casper chuckled lightly while shaking his head.
He cut the cake and shared it between them.
"Darm this cake is soooooo good" Cassie said in-between bits.
"You're just are glutton and a free loader" joe said while Henry nodded from the side.
"Hey haven't you guys heard that free stuffs is the best stuff" Cassie asked while tilting her head to the side.
They all bust laughing after hearing her response.
"Yo are you gonna finish that???"Cassie asked while reaching her hands to Henry's cake.
Henry immediately slapped her hands away.
"Hands off my cake you glutton" Henry said while eyeing Cassie from head to toe.
"Ssh what ever happened to been a gentleman", Cassie asked while rubbing her hands.
"You can have mine",joe said
Cassie's eye gleaned with excitement as she reached her hands to Joe's cake.
"You see Henry, joe is a real definition of a gentleman", she said.what she failed to she was the dubious look in Joe's eyes.
Before she could take the cake joe immediately wolfed it down while laughing.
"Got you, whatever made you think I would give you my cake ???", joe asked while laughing at Cassie.
"That wasn't nice", Casper said.
"Come on Cassie you can have my cake" Casper said while offering his cake to Cassie.
"Casper is the real deal" , Cassie said while reaching her hands to the cake.
Before she could take it , Casper hurriedly eat the cake while laughing.
"Got you again" Casper said.
The whole room bust out laughing.
"I can't believe you fell for it again " they'll said at once.
"Drop dead man" Cassie said while resisting the urge to curse out loud.
The celebration continued until 10 pm at night.
"Kids it getting late I think it's time for you guys to go home" Mrs Margaret said.
Grumbling was head coming from the kids, as they stood up and got ready to go.
"I would like to thank you guys for coming for Casper's birthday and celebrating with him" , Mrs Margaret said with a warm and kind smile.
"Ooh Mrs Margaret you don't need to thank us for coming" , joe said
"yeah, Casper is our friend, it's only the right thing to do, there's no need to thank us", Cassie said.
"Casper is our guy" , Henry said.
"Awwn you guys are so sweet" Casper said while spreading his hands for a hug.
The group came together while sharing a heart warming hug .
"I think his gonna cry" , Cassie said
Casper laughed while using his hands to clean the tears from his eyes.
"I love you guys, you guys are the best thing that ever happened to me" Casper said while pulling them for another hug.
"You're the best thing to ever happen to us too" , they all said.
Mrs Margaret was smiling at them, she was so happy to see her son finally smiling.
"Alright let me escort you guys home" Casper said.
He escorted them to the door.
"Bye Mrs Margaret, bye little anny" they all waved Mrs Margaret and anny good bye.
"Bye everyone" Mrs Margaret said
"Bye Cassie , bye joe , bye Henry, bye Joan" , anny said lengthly while giving Joan a hug.
"I wanted to thank you guys once again for coming to my birthday, you guys really made my day" , Casper said.
"We have said it before you don't need to thank us for anything, we are your friends and it's our duty to be there for you " ,joe said as Cassie and Henry nodded in agreement.
"Thanks guys" Casper said .
"I swear if you thank us again we are going to beat you to pulp" Cassie said with her hands folder.
Casper chuckled as he resumed walking.
"So man school is resuming tomorrow" joe asked
"Yeah it is" Casper answered
"I'm not looking forward to school resumption at all, I mean why must they force us to go to school" Cassie said.
"We go to school to learn so that we can become something useful in the future ", Henry said.
"I will probably awaken, I prefer fighting at the front line , then going to school ", Cassie said
"Sigh what ever you say ", Henry responded.
After walking them to their bus stop Casper went home and slept, after all tomorrow was school resumption and he didn't want to come late to school.
