Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Three Moves – Eightfold Tempest

"If I make a move, you won't be able to withstand it," Hun Xiu said, shaking his head with gentlemanly grace.

He still held his wooden sword, letting the fierce gale of Dou Qi whip through his long hair and white robes.

Yet he stood as immovable as a mountain—calm and composed.

To some, this might have seemed like he was just posturing, but when they recalled Hun Xiu's terrifying strength, they realized—it wasn't posturing at all. He was simply stating facts.

If he truly attacked, what chance did Hun Douluo have?

His offer for her to strike first, and his suggestion that she concede, were indeed the actions of a gentleman. And yet… people couldn't help but feel he was looking down on Hun Douluo—belittling her because she was a woman. Still, there was no real evidence for that.

"Hun Xiu, are you sure you won't make the first move?" Hun Douluo's bright eyes narrowed slightly as she stared at him.

"Yes," Hun Xiu nodded calmly. "You go first."

"Since you're a girl, I'll give you three free moves. That way, your defeat won't be so humiliating."

"Hmph!"

Hun Douluo snorted coldly. "You'll pay for that arrogance, Hun Xiu!"

"Eightfold Tempest!"

She formed a seal with her hands, and the surrounding heaven and earth instantly stirred with violent unrest.

White wings unfurled from her back as she slowly ascended into the sky, standing poised in the air.

As her hand seals changed, the atmospheric turbulence intensified. A miniature tornado began to form in the center of her palm—just the size of a handprint, but packed with terrifying power.

Holding the tornado aloft in her palm, Hun Douluo gazed down from above at Hun Xiu—who remained perfectly still on the platform, wooden sword in hand, looking for all the world like a stoic, sword-obsessed warrior... one who also happened to be annoyingly handsome.

"Hun Xiu," she said, "you're seriously giving me three moves?"

"Of course."

Hun Xiu lifted his gaze—since Hun Douluo was in the air, his first glance landed not on her face, but on her long, straight legs beneath her white skirt. Fair and slender.

As for anything higher up… he didn't look. It was just a glance. He shifted his eyes upward and added casually, "Go ahead. I keep my word."

"If I break it, I'll concede the match myself."

"Well now, you said it! Don't come crying later!" Hun Douluo's eyes twinkled with excitement.

She knew she wasn't his equal. Hun Xiu's true strength had always been a mystery among the younger generation.

But so what if it was? She didn't believe he could withstand three of her attacks.

As her voice faded, the miniature tornado in her hand shot forward, no longer restrained.

The moment it left her palm, it roared like a wild, unchained beast—growing rapidly as it spun out of control.

The tornado howled across the field, expanding into a violent maelstrom.

The younger generation of the Hun Clan, watching from the platform, all felt the terrifying pressure of that wind and instinctively raised protective barriers to shield themselves.

"Earth-tier Low-Grade Dou Technique—Eightfold Tempest!"

Several spectators recognized the technique instantly and couldn't help but comment in awe.

"This Hun Douluo is intense! Starting with an Earth-tier technique? She's not pulling any punches."

"Pull punches? Her opponent is Hun Xiu! She doesn't dare hold back."

"If anyone's going easy, it's Hun Xiu!"

"Exactly!"

"But isn't Hun Xiu taking it too easy? Giving her three moves? This first one is already Earth-tier—what's next? A Heaven-tier technique?"

"Do you think Hun Xiu can take it?"

"Bro, be confident. Drop the 'do you think.' Hun Xiu is the greatest genius in the Hun Clan's history—he has the potential to become an emperor."

Back in the square, many sharp-eyed elders and observers understood the gravity of the situation and burst into chatter.

The storm raged with terrifying force, tearing the very void apart.

The twisting wind surged toward Hun Xiu like a death vortex. Anyone caught in that maelstrom, if unprepared, would be ripped to shreds.

But this was Hun Xiu.

The storm enveloped him completely, yet he remained upright, standing calmly in mid-air with the wind surrounding him.

Expressionless, hair fluttering, white robes flowing, sword in hand—he never moved.

The gale tried to tear him apart, but Hun Xiu simply used the wind to stay afloat.

He looked like an immortal within the storm, untouched by the world.

"Hun Douluo," he called calmly, "this wind is too weak. It doesn't even tickle."

Whoosh!

As soon as he spoke, a terrifying power erupted from his body.

In an instant, the violent storm surrounding him vanished—scattered like dust.

And Hun Xiu gently descended back to the ground.

Silence.

The entire square fell into stunned quiet. Everyone had thought Hun Douluo's attack might not be effective—but they never expected this.

Hun Xiu hadn't even moved.

He'd just stood there—and neutralized an Earth-tier Dou Technique cast by an Eight-Star Dou Wang.

This alone spoke volumes about his monstrous strength.

Even the top young elites on the platform—Hun Feng, Hun Yu, and Hun Huan'er—were far stronger than Hun Douluo, but none of them could have casually dissolved such a technique the way Hun Xiu just had.

Everyone stared at Hun Xiu like he was a monster.

Even Elder Hun Dun, who served as the judge, was deeply impressed. Watching Hun Xiu nullify the technique without lifting a finger, he couldn't help but nod to himself.

"Hun Xiu may only be a Two-Star Dou Huang, but the power he just released—far beyond even most Dou Zong. This boy truly does have the potential to become an Emperor. He is the greatest talent our clan has ever known."

In the sky, Hun Douluo was stunned as she watched her technique dissolve so easily.

Her Earth-tier technique—unleashed at full strength by an Eight-Star Dou Wang—hadn't even touched him. Not a single hair on his head was disturbed.

Hun Xiu's strength… was terrifying. So terrifying, in fact, that he might already be at the level of a Dou Zun.

Only the clan's elders could match him.

Was it truly a good thing to have such a terrifying genius among the younger generation of the Hun Clan?
