Chapter 6 - chapter six

Diana had grown used to the thrill of seeing him, to those moments that had now become part of her routine, yet held a special glow that made her days feel different.

Every time they met, it was as if time stood still. The hours seemed to vanish in a sigh as they talked about everything and nothing at once. He made her feel safe, free from judgment, and that was something Diana deeply valued. However, behind that increasingly intense connection, a silent fear had begun to grow in her—a fear that it might all be too perfect to last.

That night, they had agreed to meet at a cozy, small, and somewhat hidden restaurant—one of those places that seem to resist the city's bustle. Upon arriving, Diana was enveloped by the scent of freshly baked bread and the soft light that illuminated the tables, giving them a warm and intimate atmosphere. They sat by the window, from where they could see the street and the lights reflected in the puddles, still fresh from the recent rain.

At first, the conversation was light, as usual. They talked about work, about movies they wanted to see, and places they hoped to visit someday. However, halfway through the evening, a regretful silence filled the air, and in that instant, he looked at her in a different way—more deeply.

Diana felt her heart skip a beat, a mix of unease and anticipation swept over her.

"Diana, there's something I want to tell you," he said. His voice had a deep, serious tone, as if each word was a piece of something greater and more fragile.

Diana leaned in, not daring to interrupt him, and he continued, his gaze fixed on the table, as if the weight of what he was about to say was almost overwhelming.

"I… I've been through things I don't often talk about—not because I want to hide them, but because they've changed me. And sometimes I think… not everyone is willing to understand them."

Diana listened in silence, her mind spinning around what he was trying to express. The vulnerability in his words moved her deeply. It wasn't often you met someone willing to lay bare their fears and shadows, to open the door to those hidden corners that most people prefer to leave in darkness. She shifted gently, giving him space to continue.
