Chapter 14 - Chapter 15: The Quiet Carry

Chapter 15:

The next few matches felt… routine.

But something had changed.

Rayn didn't speak much in chat.

Didn't overextend.

Didn't chase kills.

He rotated when it mattered.

Covered lanes when others roamed.

Used pings with precision — not spam.

He wasn't trying to lead.

But his calm movements made people follow.

---

In one match, the jungler typed:

> "Mid hold. I'll gank bot."

Rayn pinged once: "Careful. Enemy jungler missing."

Ten seconds later, a trap.

The enemy was waiting in the bot-side bush.

Their support died, but the jungler escaped.

> "How did you know?" the support asked.

Rayn didn't reply.

He was already rotating top to cover the open lane.

---

They won that game slowly.

Rayn never got MVP.

Didn't even top the damage chart.

But his death count: 0.

Tower contribution: highest.

Enemy mid? Shut down.

Post-game, a message popped up from their tank:

> "You're not loud. But everything around you feels stable."

Rayn stared at it.

Then replied for once:

> "Just doing my job."

---

In the following match, he picked Calen again.

The team comp was shaky. No proper frontliner.

Rayn adjusted his build — more utility, slower burst.

Focused on zoning, not killing.

At one point, he saw their fighter chasing deep into enemy jungle.

Rayn didn't follow.

Instead, he pinged "Retreat" and held mid.

The fighter died. The enemy collapsed mid.

Rayn was already there.

He cleared the wave. Delayed the push.

Saved the tower by 3 seconds.

> "You think like a map, not a player," someone said later.

Rayn didn't feel proud.

But he felt... closer to something.
