Chapter 1 - Broken bones, Racing heart

"Sir, how could you go on such a dangerous mission alone? Do you have any idea how scared I was? What if something had happened to you? I'd be left without my mentor..."

Assistant officer Teayun spoke in a shaky voice, his eyes brimming with unshed tears.

Mr. Park Yeon Shuk let out a soft chuckle.

"Come on, nothing could've happened to me. I've faced worse. They couldn't even touch a hair on my head," he said confidently, despite the bandage on his left arm.

[Character note: Mr.park yeon shuk,28, profession:police officer, height:6'1,fair skin, dangerously handsome]

Teayun frowned, looking at his bandaged hand.

"But sir… they did manage to injure your arm..."

Feeling a little embarrassed, Park looked away and mumbled, "Alright, forget it. Just drive faster."

A while later, their car stopped in front of Tulip Hospital.

As they walked in, Teayun rushed to the receptionist and said urgently,

"My officer's arm is broken. Please call the best orthopedic doctor you have—right away!"

"Yes, sir! Please wait in the cabin. I'll inform the doctor immediately," the receptionist replied.

Both men settled in the cabin.

Minutes passed. Ten… then twenty.

Still no doctor.

"...Where is your doctor?" Mr. Park snapped, his patience wearing thin.

Right then, the door opened with a soft knock.

The nurse stepped in and said, "Doctor Teajoon has arrived."

A quiet figure entered the room, dressed in a crisp white coat.

Dr. Teajoon, around thirty-two, fair-skinned and slim, walked in with a calm, collected air. A stethoscope rested lightly around his neck, and thin-framed glasses sat neatly on the bridge of his nose.

The air shifted the moment Dr.Teajoon walked in--

Park's breath caught. For a moment, everything else around him faded. The pain in his arm? Forgotten. His frustration? Gone.

All he could see was him — the man in a white coat, slim glasses perched on his nose, and a calm, unreadable expression.

Without pause, Dr. Teajoon looked up and said in a soft, emotionless tone,

"Let me take a look at your arm."
