Natasha looked outside through the window and she realized that it was already bright outside, the sun was already up. She was so scared by the dream that she couldn't go back to sleep. It was fortunate for her that it was already morning.
She picked up her phone and made a call to her friend whose name is Sila.
Sila was her childhood friend, and her parents were very long-time friends with Natasha's parents. The two families were very close, and they would visit each other from time to time.
"Hi, my boy," Natasha said when they called her.
For the longest time, she was used to calling Sila ' My boy'.
She took a deep breath, she didn't want Sila to learn of her emotions. She was sure he would get worried about her.
Hi, my boy," Natasha spoke with a mix of relief and excitement. The nickname brought back memories of their childhood adventures together. The more she thought about Sila, she felt some kind of relief and happiness. Sila had always been there for her.
At the other end of the call, Sila's voice carried a hint of longing as he replied, "Natasha! It's been ages. I've missed you so much. We haven't talked for long, dear. I have been trying to get to you, but your phone never went through. Are you okay?" Sila asked a series of questions without giving her a chance to reply to each question at a time.
A smile tugged at the corners of Natasha's lips as she responded, "I've missed you too, Sila. Life has been so busy lately, and I wish we could have seen each other more often."
Natasha couldn't even recall the last time they talked.
"Yeah, it feels like forever since we last hung out," Sila agreed. "But hey, what's up? Is there something specific you wanted to talk about? I can feel that,?"
From her voice, Sila could tell that the phone call wasn't all about missing each other, but it was something else that he couldn't tell what it was.
Natasha hesitated for a moment, considering the request she was about to make. Sila had always been there for her, offering his unwavering support. She knew he would do anything for her, and this time, she needed his help more than ever.
She didn't want to guess what his reaction would be if he heard what her request was. The time was now, and whatever his reaction, she had to make her request. It was the biggest decision she had made, and there was no turning back.
"Well, Sila, I have a favor to ask," Natasha began tentatively. "You know, things have been difficult for me recently, and I've been contemplating a change in my life. I want to move to another city."
Sila's curiosity piqued. "A change? What kind of change, Natasha? Why do you want to relocate?"
Why did she want to relocate? Was it because of the divorce? Was it because she wanted to start a new life? Was it because of the pain? Was it because she didn't want to see Kenny anymore?
She could easily answer that question.
Natasha sighed softly, grappling with the right words to express her feelings. "It's hard to explain, Sila. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something feels off. I need a fresh start, a new life."
Sila's voice was full of concern as she asked gently, "Is something wrong, Natasha? You know you can tell me anything, right?"
A wave of emotions washed over Natasha, and for a moment, she contemplated whether she should tell Sila about what happened or not. But she quickly decided against it, not wanting to burden him with her fears.
"No, Sila, everything is okay," she reassured him, her voice shaking slightly. "I just need a change of scenery, a chance to find myself again. And I know I can count on you for support."
Sila could sense that Natasha was holding back, but he respected her decision not to share everything just yet. "Of course, Natasha. You know I'll always be here for you. I want nothing more than to see you happy and fulfilled."
A sense of relief flooded Natasha's heart as she heard Sila's support. She knew she could rely on him, no matter what.
It was not the right time to tell him about what she was going through. She felt that she was a grown-up and she should bear her burden alone without burdening others.
She had decided that once she felt like talking about what happened to her, she would do so.
Taking a deep breath, Natasha continued, "Thank you, Sila. I really appreciate your understanding. So, here's the favor, I need you to help me book an evening plane ticket to Velmora, as I mentioned earlier. It's important that I leave tonight."
Sila was taken aback by the sudden urgency in Natasha's voice. "Tonight? That's so soon! Natasha, please tell me what's going on. I want to understand."
Sila knew that a person couldn't make such a big decision in a rush. Did something happen to her?
" Natasha, what about Ken..?" Before he could finish his sentence, Sila was cut short.
"I promise, Sila, I'll explain everything in due time," Natasha replied softly. "Right now, I just need your trust and support. Can you take me to the airport this evening?"
Sila could tell that there was still something off; it was as if she was trying to hide something big from him.
Sila hesitated for a moment, his mind racing with questions. But ultimately, he nodded and said, "Of course, Natasha. I'll be there for you. We'll figure everything out together."
He knew that he must be there for her, he should support her in everything, and he should give her a shoulder to lean on.
Natasha's heart was filled with relief as she heard Sila's commitment to help her. "Thank you, Sila. I can't express how much this means to me. I'll be forever grateful for your friendship.
"You are always welcome, Natasha, and there is no need to thank me. That's what friends should do for each other, right?"
After talking for a few more minutes, the two ended the call and each fell deep into their own thoughts.
