Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Are We There Yeti

"Last week on Total Drama Island," The regular recap of the previous episode started…only with one major difference. It was Chef doing it! That's right, instead of the host with the most Christ Mclain doing it, the buff cook of a sidekick was taking over the recap for some reason. "Those good-for-nothing campers got swept away by a rainstorm that left them stranded on a deserted island. Meanwhile, the chubby one drifted ashore in his outhouse and made a new friend that has an IQ almost as high as his. The orange one was acting all broody and depressed because he lost his hippie girlfriend but the gruesome chick knocked some sense into him. So together they built a raft for them and the delinquent, which left mouthy girl to fend for herself. Somehow, they all ended up together in a treehouse confessing their sins. That's when they came up with a crackerjack plan to find out who was making the fire, but all they found was the secret location of our production crew camp. The chubby one ended up biting the dust and high tailing it outta this dump probably because he freaked everyone out with the whole coconut thing. Yeah, it's me doing the recap. You got a problem with that?! Since Chris is off hosting some frou-frou rewards show, I'll be filling in as host. But guess what? I ain't happy about it, either. So sit back, shut up, and watch a nice episode of Total! Drama! Island!"

The sun shined down on Total Drama Island and with it brought the beauty of nature. The squirrels happily squeaked as they went about gathering nuts, the birds chirped as they flew through the sky, and the campers snored while in their beds…wait what?

You didn't mishear that ladies and gentlemen. The four remaining campers were all sound asleep while their bunks were outside their cabins…again! They were completely unaware to the nature around them. Gwen sneezed in her sleep as a squirrel's tail brushed against her nose, a frog hopped on top of Duncan and ate a fly buzzing around his eyes, a bird came and plucked a few of Lincoln's hairs off his head for its nest, and an acorn fell into Heather's mouth that she managed to choke back out.

However, when a squirrel came to collect the acorn and hopped on top of Heather's chest to do so is what ended up waking the queen bee up. Waking up with a startled look on her face, Heather quickly sat up and looked around to see they were no longer in their cabins. "What? Who's that? Where are we?" She let out quickly while swatting away another squirrel that got close to her.

And due to Heather's outburst, this ended up waking up the other campers with all of them experiencing a similar feeling as Heather as they quickly looked around to see where they were. "How did we get here?" Duncan questioned as he threw the frog that was on him off.

"Oh my God not again!" Lincoln let out as they were once again stranded in the middle of nowhere with camp nowhere in sight.

"Chris?" Gwen questioned, quickly thinking the host was up to this. Especially after the events of the last challenge.

Just then the sound of a helicopter came from up above along with a familiar gruff voice. "Everybody just shut up!" Hanging out the door of the helicopter was none other than Chef who jumped out of the vehicle once it was close enough to the ground, the helicopter touching down not too far away. "How you got here is not your concern!"

"What happened to Chris?" Gwen asked as she and everyone else got outta bed.

Chef was quick to get right in front of the Goth's face and snap at her. "None of your gosh darn business what happened to Chris!" The buff cook yelled loudly, getting Gwen to shut up and back away. "I'm in charge now. And I'm gonna make you wish you were never born. Your mission is to find your way out of the forest or die trying."

"You can't be serious!" Heather yelled while looking at Chef like he was crazy. "We will die."

CONFESSIONAL – GWEN

"They left us in the woods. Alone. Again." Gwen already got her fill of being a stranded survivalist during the last challenge. She did not need to go through all this again! "With Heather, I'd rather go swimming in the shark-infested water."

"Here's how it works." Chef began explaining the rules of the challenge while marching back and forth in front of them like a drill sergeant. "Team one, delinquent and snowball. Team two, Grim and Grimmer. Everything you need are in these bags." Chef tossed a red bag of supplies to both Lincoln and Heather. "You'll navigate your way north to base camp. The first team to tag the camp totem pole wins. And here's a tip. Better set up camp before sundown. Because when nightfall hits, you won't even see your trembling hand in front of your terrified face. Unless you got night vision goggles." Just to taunt them, Chef pulled out a pair of night vision googles out of the pocket of his apron and laughed. "But you don't, hahaha."

As Chef put the goggles back, suddenly Duncan, acting completely out of character, ran up to Chef and clung onto the cook's apron with a terrified look on his face. "Oh, please! Please don't leave us here!" Duncan begged with a broken tone. "I'm begging you, we won't survive!"

Chef growled and threw Duncan off him. "Grab a hold of your guts, soldier!" Chef snapped at the delinquent while the other campers looked at him strangely.

CONFESSIONAL – HEATHER

"Duncan's a lot of things, but he is definitely not a chicken." Heather stated with a thoughtful look on her face. She knew Duncan was acting like that for a reason. "He's up to something, I can tell. And I am going to find out what it is."

"Um, any chance there's any grizzly bear repellent in this thing?" Lincoln asked nervously as he dug through the supply bag Chef tossed him. Last time they had to deal with giant snakes, a giant goose, and a shark. Quite frankly if he saw any bears he would just be done at this rate.

"Nope! But I wouldn't worry about that." Chef 'reassured' everyone making a small bit of relief come to them. Only to be quickly dashed away by Chef's next words. "You wishyou'd saw a grizzly once you meet up with ol' Sasquatchanakwa! He's one mean mamma-jamma!" Chef then cackled as he headed back towards the helicopter, a few of the remaining campers gasping at the information as Chef grabbed onto the flying machine as it took off. "Good luck, troops! Try not to die!"

And with that Chef was completely out of their sight, leaving the final four campers to fend for themselves out in the woods and hopefully get back to camp. There was even two more helicopters appearing to come and take away the bunk beds back to camp. "This isn't legal!" Heather tried to yell out to Chef, which was of course in vain. "You can't do this!"

"Hey peaches." Duncan grinned as he took the supply bag of Lincoln and grabbed the white head by his shirt. "File it with the network lawyers." Before Heather could make a rebuttal to Duncan, the delinquent quickly took off while dragging Lincoln with him.

"Where do they think they are going?" Heather thought the two boys were crazy to just go off like that. Every part of this island was a death trap in the making and she doubt Chef actually gave them everything they needed to survive. "They can't survive out there. It's suicide, it's-"

"Hey. I've got an idea." Gwen cut off Heather to get the queen bee to stop talking. "Let's see what happens if you shut up already." Gwen then started walking forward, Heather reluctantly followed as she glared at the goth girl.

CONFESSIONAL – HEATHER

"Okay. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than ditching her grim little butt in the middle of nowhere," Heather already thought of various fantasies of leaving Gwen for dead. "But this is the wild. I need someone to shove in front of me if a bear comes by."

CONFESSIONAL – DUNCAN

"Now that he's no longer acting like dead weight having Linc on my team might not be so bad." Duncan had to admit as he clipped his nails with his knife. "I've seen what he can do and he's got some pretty impressive survival skills. He even said he and his friend Clyde survived a bear attack once, and considering he's lived with 10 sisters before I'm inclined to believe it. I mean women and bears are pretty similar, only difference is that one is loud, vicious and can rip your limbs apart in a matter of seconds…and the other's a bear."

"Woah, woah, woah! Duncan! Slow down!" Lincoln yelled as he tried to keep up with the delinquent as Duncan dragged them through the woods for a solid 5 minutes. They were now quite a bit away from where they started with the girls nowhere in sight. Thankfully Duncan listened to Lincoln and stopped running as he let go of Lincoln, allowing the white head to catch his breath. "Geez man, what the heck was that? Where even are we now?"

"I just wanted to get away from the girls." Duncan explained his reasoning behind the sudden sprint in the random direction. Lincoln rose a brow as Duncan went on. "Psych them out a bit, you know? Okay, let's see what we got."

Duncan then emptied out the bag of supplies Chef gave them on the ground. They saw that they had a can of bug spray, a map, a lighter, a pair of binoculars, and a sleeping bag. "Alright looks like we got some good stuff." Lincoln said as the two boys looked over the items they had. "No food but we should be able to find some around here, plenty of bushes, trees, and rivers that should have food."

CONFESSIONAL – LINCOLN

"Alright, no more mopping. Gotta keep my head in the game and my eyes on the prize!" Lincoln hyped himself up to stay focused on the challenge at hand. Sure he was still pretty upset about Dawn being gone, but he can't just sit around and mope all the time. Like Gwen told him, she was watching and rooting for him. "I'll admit being paired with Duncan isn't so bad. He's got some good skills for being out in the wild so I think we got this challenge in the bag!"

"Heh, there's no need to worry about food for us." Duncan grinned confidently as he reached into his pocket…and pulled out the night vision goggles Chef showed off earlier. "We'll be outta the woods in no time thanks to these babies!"

Lincoln gasped at first when he saw the goggles, but soon smirked as he looked into Duncan's eyes. "Heh, should have known that little scene earlier was intentional." Duncan couldn't help but smirk with pride as he shrugged. "You really are a master criminal huh?"

"You know it man." Duncan and Lincoln then shared a high five as the delinquent twirled the goggles around on his finger. "Even when night falls, with these babies we can see clear as day."

"Won't have to stop and make camp so long as we're on the right trail, nice going." While normally Lincoln wouldn't approve of cheating…Chef technically didn't say it was against the rules to snatch the goggles from him and use them then. So as technical as it was, it was very much still fair game. "Now we just need to know which way camp is. Chef said it's to the north right?"

"Yeah, so you grab the map and try and pin down where we are." Duncan instructed with the Loud boy listening and picking up the map. "I'll try and find which way north is."

Lincoln was about to open the map and do as Duncan said, but then an idea popped inside the white head's mind as he grinned. Rolling up the map and putting it in his pocket, Lincoln turned to Duncan and said, "Actually I think I can find out which way north is. Got that needle you use to make piercings with you?"

"Uh, yeah." Duncan confirmed as he rose a brow. "Why exactly?"

"Let me see it, I got something that should help us." Duncan simply shrugged and decided to let Lincoln do his thing and pulled out his needle. Lincoln gladly took it and walked over to a nearby tree, taking off a good sized and completely intact leaf. With the leaf and needle in his hand, Lincoln examined the ground for a bit to find the last thing he needed for this to work. Thankfully due to the massive rainstorm that occurred during the last challenge it didn't take long at all to find a puddle that was the perfect size. First placing the leaf in the puddle, Lincoln then carefully took the needle and placed it down lightly and perfectly straight, making sure the sharp end of the needle was facing the tip of the leaf and the blunt end was facing the stem.

"Are what are you-" Duncan's question was cut off by Lincoln raising a hand, gesturing him to be quiet. At first Duncan didn't appreciate that, but soon his eyes widened as he saw his needle slowly begin to turn in a different direction, soon coming to a stop when the pointy end was pointing to the left side of the leaf, telling them which way was north. "Dang, where'd you learn to do that."

"Read all of Rip Hardcore's books." Lincoln bragged as he took the needle off the leaf and handed it back to Duncan. "Contains all sort of handy information like that. So we know north is that way, all we need to do is find where we are on the map and we're camp free!"

"Not bad snowball, not bad at all." Duncan genuinely complimented the white head as his partner took out the map so they could determine where they were.

Back with the girl team, Gwen was looking over the compass that Chef had put into their bag of supplies that included that, some energy bars, a medical kit, toilet paper, and sunscreen. "Camp is north." Gwen pointed out as she gestured to the river they were walking next to. "So we just follow the river. Easy."

"Yeah. As long as we're not munched by Sasquatchamacallit." Heather stated as she followed Gwen with crossed arms, looking around with a bit of a fearful look on her face. Though Heather always tried to keep her confident and intimidating vibe around her at all times to show her dominance, this challenge caused it to crack a bit just like last time.

Meanwhile Gwen just rolled her eyes and shook her head, thinking that Heather was overreacting to what was probably nothing. "Would you relax?" Gwen told the queen bee in an annoyed tone. Get back to camp from the middle of nowhere in the woods, Gwen thought she could handle that. But having to handle both that while essentially being tethered to Heather the entire time, that sounded like true hell on earth for the goth. "That's obviously just another stupid made-up myth to scare us."

CONFESSIONAL – HEATHER

"I don't believe in Sasquatches. I don't." Heather tried to convince herself, but the look in her eyes said otherwise. "And they wouldn't like, drop us here in the middle of the forest if there really was one. What if we died?" Heather's eyes then widened fearfully as she started to breathe heavily. "Would they?"

"Ugh! I'd kill for some bug spray!" Gwen and Heather were currently following the river like the former had said while the latter was constantly scratching her entire body as a swarm of mosquito's was currently treating her like a walking blood bank. "These mosquitoes think I'm an all-you-can-eat buffet!" However due to her constant complaining, a mosquito ended up flying inside of Heather's throat making her violently cough. "a mosquito bit the inside of my throat! It itches."

Meanwhile Gwen's eye just twitched as Heather coughed some more and scratched her throat.

CONFESSIONAL – GWEN

"Okay, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I actually miss Chris." Gwen said the one thing she was sure she would never say in her life. But the challenge Chef was putting her through as well as her teammates he assigned her was all just becoming too much. "Anything is better than Chef psychopath. Why do camp cooks always look like escaped criminals?"

CONFESSIONAL – HEATHER

"Can you hear me Chris?" Heather yelled as she slammed the wall of the outhouse, wishing it was Chris that she was punching instead. "I hope you enjoyed your little day off while we put up with your psychotic sidekick, who, by the way, wasn't even doing anything. He just ditched us in the woods!"

Currently with the boys, Duncan and Lincoln were currently hiking up a rocky cliff. They were sweating a bit due to the sun now shining down even hotter during this time of the day. "So hey," Lincoln decided to spark up some conversation with Duncan, hoping it would both pass the time as well as get at least him to forget about the heat beating down on them. "You think Chef was being serious about that whole Sasquatch thing?"

"Nah man, no way." Duncan said in between breaths as he hoped pass some more spiky looking rocks, Lincoln quickly doing the same to avoid them. Peaking over the hill they were on, they saw it was more of a cliff with a river down below that was flowing in the same direction they were hiking. "He was just trying to mess with us, I mean if giant walking apes did exist someone would have found it at this point."

"Yeah that's a good point." Lincoln agreed as he wiped some sweat off his forehead. "I mean just look at the 'photo's' taken of him. Kinda weird how ALL of them are either blurry, only show an arm or a leg, or just uses some weird optical illusion or something. Plus they might as well just be like oversized gorilla's if they do exist."

"People just making up weird stuff like that to seem cool." Duncan chuckles as he briefly stopped to catch his breath, Lincoln quickly doing the same and enjoying the brief resting time. "I mean come on, when's the last time you've seen a horror movie about Big Foot? What would you even call something like that? Watch out for the Prints? Hahahaha!"

"Heh, might be better than some other monsters." Lincoln grinned as he looked around the area they were at. "I mean I don't get what's so terrifying about the Invisible Man. He's not even a monster he's just an invisible dude. Cover him with paint, get a gun and then bang he's dead."

"I know right. Now then let's see where we-hey wait a second. Look over there! It's the girls!" Duncan pointed to the area below the cliff and took out the binoculars. With them Duncan could easily see both Gwen and Heather heading off in the same direction they were while Lincoln had more difficultly seeing them. "Looks like the girls got their own compass, heading the same way we are. But from where we are they actually might have the lead, dang it!"

Lincoln rubbed his chin as Duncan stomped a foot angrily on the ground. However, Lincoln smirked as he looked below and saw the river down below. "Wait Duncan, I got an idea." Considering his last idea with the all-natural compass worked so well, Duncan was quick to look to Lincoln and see what was brewing inside the white heads mind. "If we dive down into the river, we can make a raft and use the river to easily get past the girls while relaxing along the way."

"So let the river do all the work while the chicks try to catch up?" Duncan grinned as he put the binoculars away and headed towards the edge of the cliff. "Let's do this! I can handle another intense dive this season."

"Least the river doesn't have any sharks…I hope." Although Lincoln suggested the idea…he was still a bit scared about jumping off the cliff and into the river. Though the one they were on wasn't nearly as big as the one from the start of camp, it certainly was above high dive status. "Welp, no time like the present…GERANIMO!" Lincoln and Duncan then jumped down, eyes set on the river down below.

"Okay look," With the girls, Heather decided at this point it was best to just bite the bullet with Gwen and try and actually be a proper team with her, as much as the thought made Heather want to puke. But currently they had no idea where the guys were and as far as they knew Lincoln and Duncan could be way ahead and Heather still had no clue what kind of plan Duncan was brewing with that whole chicken scene earlier at the start. So as the girls stopped to eat some of their energy bars, Heather decided to bring this idea up with Gwen. "We both know we don't like each other. And we both probably wish we could push each other off a cliff right now."

"The thought had crossed my mind." And it wasn't just this challenge that Gwen was referring to when she had those thoughts.

"But I think we can also agree we have to win this challenge." Gwen had to agree with Heather on that. At this point of the game, having invincibility was an absolute necessity. With only four of them left, having both the guys get immunity to the vote paints a massive target on both her and Heather's back and considering how crafty Duncan can be with both strategy and convincing others, she couldn't guarantee that Heather will for sure get the boot. Plus the added possibility of Chef pulling out a sudden death with her somehow being the victim of it. "We can't afford to let the guys win invincibility. And who knows what kind of evil bonding they're up to right now."

They were currently having a burping contest on the raft they made to ride the river.

"So we're a team on this, right?" Heather then extended her hand, willing to put up with Gwen and work with her this time and this time only.

Gwen rose a brow, trying to detect any sort of tricks or deceptions Heather might be pulling on her. But surprisingly, Gwen couldn't see any of that at least right now. So she took Heather's hand into her own, Gwen shook on it and agreed to work with the queen bee. "Right." Gwen said…before gasping as something appeared in the corner of her eye.

Heather rose her brow and looked to where Gwen was looking and found herself gasping as well as they saw the guys riding on a raft on the river while waving at them with taunting grins. "They're getting away!" Both girls said in unison as they ran after the guys to try and catch up to them.

CONFESSIONAL – HEATHER

"Ha. Using the river was brilliant." Heather had to admit the boys plan was a smart one. "Well played, boys. Well played."

And so war was on between the two teams. The goal was simply steal as much stuff from the other team as possible.

The girls made the first move as they managed to make a snare trap by luring one of the boys in with some fruit and berries they found. Lincoln ended up falling for it, succumbing a bit to his hunger and thinking it was probably just a stash a small animal was collecting but quickly got tied up by his leg and hanging from the tree leading to Duncan having to climb up it and get him down, giving Heather the perfect opportunity to quickly snag the boys' bug spray from the bag Duncan sat down.

The boys weren't gonna take this lying down though, as they managed to sneak up from behind the girls in the bushes and mimic bear noises to scare the girls into hiding inside a large log and causing them to drop their bag. The guys then pushed a boulder to block the side of the log the girls went into and stole their food from their bag.

But the girls were quick to fight back as they grabbed a large apple from a tree and found Lincoln and Duncan resting by a large tree, Duncan collecting branches while Lincoln ate one of the energy bars they stole. With Duncan gone, Heather threw the apple at Lincoln's head, managing to knock him out and take the sleeping bag he was sitting on.

But the guys really stepped up their game with their next one as, using all the branches Duncan collected, they made a pitfall trap that the girls ended up falling right into. With Gwen accidentally tossing the bag away as she fell, this gave Duncan and Lincoln the perfect opportunity to swipe the girls' most valuable item. Their compass.

And this constant supply stealing went on and on until…

THAT NIGHT

"Ugh. I can't believe they stole all of our supplies." Heather growled out as she and Gwen walked through the woods, the sun long gone and replaced by the moon which thankfully kept things from being completely pitch black due to it being full. But you heard Heather right, her and Gwen were left with zero supplies with Lincoln and Duncan having took all of it.

"Never underestimate a known criminal. Especially someone with Lincoln as his partner." Despite their differences and their other interactions during their time at camp, Gwen had to admit that when paired together Duncan and Lincoln were an incredibly impressive and hard to beat combo and they were actually able to be civil with each other and work together in various scenarios and unfortunately for her and Heather this was one of them. Just then Gwen sniffed the air and cringed a bit as she looked at Heather. "Ew, I hope we find the camp soon, you really stink."

"You should talk." Heather stated as she plunged her nose. "I can smell your armpits from here."

Gwen simply rolled her eyes, but in doing so spotted something on the ground. A humanoid looking footprint…only much bigger than how a foot should be. It was about Big Foot big. Thinking that the guys were once again trying to freak them out, Gwen got Heather's attention and gestured to the footprint. Gwen gave a smirk and Heather quickly picked up on Gwen's plan and nodded along. "Heather, look!" Gwen gasped out, acting all freaked out and scared. "It's a Sasquatch footprint. Oh! I'm so scared!"

Just then a nearby bush rustled and all the ladies did was smirk and shake their heads. "Please. You're embarrassing yourselves!" Gwen then shushed Heather and pointed to the bush, Heather grinned as Gwen tiptoed over to it and lunged at it, trying to take the guys by surprised…however it wasn't either of the guys that Gwen lunged at. Far from it. Emerging from the bush with Gwen on top of it, was a large sasquatch with purple fur and red eyes. "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" Heather screamed loudly as she ran off. Gwen's eyes widened as she looked at what exactly she was sitting on top of and soon began screaming herself while flailing her arms around, Sasquatchanakwa itself screaming as well as it ran off being startled by Gwen's screaming.

Meanwhile the guys were still heading in the direction of camp with Duncan in the lead and Lincoln behind him, the Loud boy putting on the night vision goggles. "Alright, let's see whats going on around here." Looking around to get a clear view of their surroundings, Lincoln saw some nocturnal animals doing their thing. A racoon fishing in the river, some birds sleeping in their nest, a rather familiar owl chatting it up with an annoyed and tired looking moose, Gwen riding towards them on Sasquatchanakwa, a snake slithering around in the grass….wait…

"What the…" Lincoln soon gasped as a horrified look came to his face. He wasn't seeing things at all! Sasquatchanakwa was heading towards them with Gwen on his shoulders! "RUN!" Lincoln yelled loudly as he quickly ran forward as fast as he could. It didn't take Duncan long to look back and to see what was going on and ran away screaming himself, Heather not too far behind while Gwen was still on Sasquatchanakwa's shoulders and the oversized ape ran in the same direction.

Eventually leading to all of them ending up in a cave. Thankfully this was where they all came to a stop as things seemed to quiet down. "Duncan?" Lincoln whispered, unable to see due to the goggles falling off him during the chaos.

"Lincoln?" Heather whispered in response.

"Heather?" Duncan responded to the queen bee's voice.

"Duncan?" Heather questioned, making sure she was hearing him right.

"Heather?" Gwen whispered out to her partner.

"Gwen?" Heather whispered back.

"Gwen." Lincoln looked towards where he heard the goth's voice.

"Lincoln." Gwen did the same.

"Now that we've taken roll call, what are we going to do?" Heather asked the million-dollar question on everyone's minds. "Did you see the size of that thing?" Meanwhile Sasquatchanakwa, who was also in the cave with them, frowned at Heather's description of him. He was sensitive about his weight after all.

"I could've taken him." Duncan stated confidently, everyone giving him deadpanned looks.

"Is that why you were screaming like a little girl?" Gwen questioned, getting some snickers from Lincoln and Heather.

"Right. Well, I was just faking him out." Duncan stated as he awkwardly look around. Thankfully as he did so, his feet brushed up against something and when he reached for it, he felt the object around for a bit and could tell they were the night vision goggles. "Anyway, I think we're safe here for a while."

But as if on cue, a bunch of squeaking sounds were heard coming from all over. And squeaking sounds in caves could only mean one thing. "Uh, that depends on what you mean by safe." Lincoln said nervously as the squeaking sounds got even louder.

Meanwhile Heather gulped nervously as she felt something wet graze her ear. "I never thought I'd say this," The queen bee squeaked out fearfully. "But…please tell me that tongue in my ear is Lincoln."

"Ew no!" Lincoln instantly denied, the thought of him doing that quickly made the Loud boy sick. "That would be the…um…bats…"

Once Lincoln said that, all the bats shrieked and caused the four campers and Sasquatchanakwa to scream in unison as they ran around the cave to try and avoid the bats. In Lincoln's case, he was completely blind as he ran around to try and find a way out, but in his scurrying he ended up falling off some sort of ledge and tumbled down to a completely different part of the cave. "Ow! Ow! (BLEEP)!" Lincoln swore as he tumbled more until finally coming to a stop when he reached a flat part of the ground. "Ugh…" The Loud boy groaned but thankfully wasn't to hurt. Just a bit sore, he could just walk it off.

"AAAAAHHH!" And it seemed another camper shared a similar tumble as him as he heard a feminine scream and heard something fall not too far away from him.. "Ugh! I hate this stupid show!"

High pitched scream, voice filled with hate, the rage that quickly filled within him when he heard it. That was Heather alright. "Heather? That you?" Lincoln asked just to make sure. While he wished it wasn't, even he had to admit it was better to be with her in this cave then to be by himself. After all, if they ran into a bear or Sasquatchanakwa again, he didn't need to outrun them he just needed to outrun Heather.

"Yes, it's me!" Heather shouted in frustration as she stood up, wincing as her entire body ached from her fall. "Well this is just great. First you steal all our stuff, then we end up running into that stupid oversized monkey that turned out to be real, and now I'm stuck in a pitch-black cave with you!"

"Yeah, not to thrilled about it either." Lincoln quickly responded as he crouched down and felt around the cave floor a bit, looking for something. "Look, let's just skip the petty insults and try and work together to get outta here. Neither one of us wants to be in this cave so the sooner we stop arguing, the sooner we get outta here. Capiche?"

"…Fine." Heather relunctactly agreed. While she wasn't too thrilled about being alone with Lincoln, she'd rather be out of the pitch-black cave than in it.

"Good, now feel around on the ground for a stick or any sort of piece of wood. Odds are an animal brought something like that in here." Lincoln instructed the queen bee, continuing to try and find one himself. "Don't ask why, just trust me."

"Ugh, alright." So Heather did as she was told, only so that it would hopefully get them out of this cave quicker. Thankfully it didn't take long for Heather to find something long that felt like it was made of wood. "Hey snowball, I found one."

"Ok hand it over." Lincoln quickly stood up and held his hand out, hoping Heather would follow the sound of his voice and see well enough to see his hand to place the stick onto. Heather did go up to him…but ended up whacking Lincoln's head with the stick. "OW!"

"Oops, sorry not sorry." Lincoln could practically feel Heather's grin over the mistake she was not at all sorry about making.

"Just give me that!" Lincoln snapped as he snatched away the stick from Heather. Heather crossed her arms in the dark and waited for Lincoln to do what he was going to do. The Loud boy reached into his pocket and took out the lighter he was keeping in there for safe keeping and lit it up, making Heather gasp at the light source he had. So to give them a bigger and more effective light source, Lincoln used the lighter to light the top of the stick on fire and made them a torch. "There, now we have light."

"Well at least we're not in the dark anymore." Heather had to admit, this was an improvement. Looking around as Lincoln put the lighter back in his pocket, Heather saw there wasn't any animals around thankfully. "So genius, how do we get out exactly?"

"Hmmm…" Lincoln hummed as he moved the torch around the area they were in to get a better view of the area so that he could hopefully find something that'll help them find the exit. But the thing he found ended up hitting his ear, not his eyes as when he listened closely to the sound, he found next to the wall of the cave a stream of water. A very small stream but still a stream. The small amount of water was moving at a steady pace towards the wall in they fell from which meant one thing. "There's water coming in from that way, so that must be the way out! Just gotta move in the opposite direction of the water and we'll be out of here in no time!"

Heather's eyes widened a bit at both Lincoln's observation and deduction skills. "Well…good. Let's just get out of here." And with that, the two headed off towards what was hopefully the way out.

CONFESSIONAL – HEATHER

"Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he was able to find a way out of that stupid cave, but it doesn't make any sense! How could he still be going strong like this!" Heather slammed her fist down on her knees in frustration. She got rid of Dawn so that Lincoln would end up depressed and be an easy picking but now it's like he's not being affected at all! "It's like nothing has changed! At this rate him and Duncan are going to win the challenge and that is something I can't allow! There has to be something to throw him off his game something that…" Heather's eyes widened and an evil grin soon came to her face as the perfect idea came to her. "Oh…that's it! That snowball is done for!"

"Alright! I think I see the exit, not too far now." Lincoln said with a grin on his face as he saw some moonlight not too far ahead. Thankfully he wouldn't have to be alone in the cave with Heather for long, and with any luck Duncan would be waiting for him outside.

"Well that's just great to hear!" Heather smiled and spoke with a…way too cheery tone. Lincoln didn't notice at first since he was excited to see the exit. Quickly putting on a wicked grin, Heather put her plan into action. "Ya know Lincoln, I must say I'm rather impressed."

"Um…thanks?" Compliments from Heather. Lincoln instantly knew something was up and put his guard up.

"I mean it! Your fantastic survival skills pulled through for two challenges in a row, it really shows how skillful you are." Heather further piled on the compliments, further making Lincoln uncomfortable. Heather would never compliment anyone other than herself unless there was something to it. "Especially after losing Dawn, such a shame by the way."

"Yeah…it was." At Heather mentioning Dawn, Lincoln grew angry. The last thing he wanted was for Heather to be talking about Dawn in anyway, especially with her gone. Lincoln sped up his pace to try and reach the exit faster, but Heather quickly caught on and sped up slightly herself.

Grinning, Heather knew Lincoln was already on edge. This was easier than she thought, now it was time to go in for the kill. "Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to upset you I was just saying. Not every guy is able to go on without their girlfriend. But you've managed to pull through." Lincoln gritted his teeth as he tried to tune the queen bee out and just ignore it. "I mean it was just kind of a shame how easy it was."

Now that got Lincoln's attention and made him a bit confused. "What?" Lincoln questioned as he looked back at Heather with narrowed eyes. "What do you mean 'how easy it was?"

"Oh you know," Heather innocently shrugged as she looked Lincoln right in the eye, put on a wicked smirk, and said with nothing but pride…

"How easy it was to rig the votes against her."

Clang!

Everything went silent. The only things being heard was the low volume water of the super tiny stream and the sound of Lincoln dropping the torch onto the cave floor. "…What…" Lincoln had to make absolute sure he heard that right. Did Heather…just say she rigged the votes against Dawn?! "Say…that…again."

"Um, are you deaf or something?" Heather mocked Lincoln with a grin on her face. This was working far better then she thought it would already, not to mention how much fun it was. "How else do you think Dawn got the boot? You really think anyone but me would vote for miss peace loving hippie? I knew you were all gunning for me so I did what I had to do to stay in the game. So I thought by getting rid of Dawn, I'd essentially be crippling you as well but we saw how that went. But all I needed was to make a quick change of plans."

Lincoln's eyes were incredibly wide as he started breathing heavily, his face going red as he gave Heather a glare that would bring her down a million times over if looks could kill. "You…You…YOU (BLEEP)!" Lincoln was completely confused by rage as he gave Heather the most pissed off look he's ever gave anyone. "GIVE ME ONE GOOD REASON WHY I SHOULDN'T THRASH YOU RIGHT NOW?! I'M NOT ABOVE HITTING A GIRL YOU KNOW!"

Heather wasn't intimidated by this at all, in fact she was planning on this as well. Smirking, Heather began to bend her leg a little. "Oh, I can think of a good reason right HERE!"

"GAH!" Heather then went for yet another low blow as Heather jabbed Lincoln's crotched with her knee and quickly brought the Loud boy down to the ground holding his privates.

Heather meanwhile easily landed on her feet and ran towards the exit of the cave at full sprint while laughing mockingly. "Ha! Later loser!" Heather taunted him as he growled viciously, almost like an animal.

"You…won't…get away!" Lincoln yelled as he powered through the pain and stood back up and began running after Heather as fast as he could, though he did have a bit of a limp. When Lincoln made it out of the cave, he looked around to see where the queen bee went but failed to see any trace of her. "Grrrr, I'm not letting you win you hear me!" Lincoln then took off in a random direction, not wanting to give Heather any chance at winning this challenge.

CONFESSIONAL – LINCOLN

"I should have known…I SHOULD HAVE FREAKING KNOWN!" Lincoln snapped violently as he slammed his fist against the wall with enough force to crack the wood a little bit. "There's NO WAY Dawn could have been legitimately been voted off! Heather…she's going to pay…BIG TIME!"

CONFESSIONAL – HEATHER

"And just like that, the guys are doomed to lose." Heather confidently said with a grin on her face, feeling incredibly proud of herself right now. "Chef specifically said that the first team to get back to camp and touch the totem pole wins. Well with snowball now out to take me down, I doubt he'll try and track down Duncan and just try to get back to camp by himself. Meanwhile all I need to do is meet up with Gwen, keep Duncan and Lincoln from getting together, and victory is ours and either Lincoln or Duncan goes home. I am so dominating this game!"

After Lincoln ran off, some bushes that were right next to the cave he and Heather just came from started rustling and from them emerged the queen bee herself grinning and laughing. "Bye snowball~" Heather whispered as she leaned on the wall next to the cave exit. "Now I wait for Gwen."

"Duncan! There's the exit!"

"Huh, speak of the goth devil." Hearing the voice of the goth coming from nearby, Heather followed the source of Gwen's voice and found another entrance/exit to the caves and soon from it stepped out both Gwen and Duncan, who looked to be stuffing something into his pockets. Heather would make sure to check that out later. "It took ya long enough to get here."

"Always a pleasure to see such a welcoming face after escaping pure darkness." Duncan joked despite the fact that, thanks to the goggles he quickly stuffed back into his pocket so no one would see them, he could see clear as day inside the cave and led Gwen through it. He simply told the goth that he had great night vision since most of the trouble he got into happened at night. "Don't suppose the yeti is here too?"

"Thankfully not." Heather rolled her eyes yet also shivered a bit in fear at the thought of that thing coming after them but so far they were yetiless. "Now come on Gwen, let's get outta here."

Gwen simply shrugged and was about to follow Heather, but Duncan looked around and noticed the distinct lack of white hair around them. "Hey, have you've seen Lincoln around anywhere?" Duncan asked as he looked to Heather.

Heather, fully expecting this question, was able to play it cool as she looked to the delinquent. "Nope, must have ended up in a different part of the caves." Heather simply told Duncan, quickly turning around as she wanted to get away from the delinquent as quick as she could. "Guess you'll just have to wait for him. Bye!"

"Great…" Duncan grumbled as he leaned against the wall, having no choice but to wait for Lincoln to pop outta the caves.

Heather then grabbed Gwen's wrist and was about to drag the goth away, but Gwen pulled back leading to Heather giving her an annoyed look. "Hey, we can't just leave." Gwen told Heather firmly as the queen bee put her hands on her hips. "We should at least stick around until Lincoln comes back."

"Uh, why should we?" Heather questioned as she really just wanted to get out of here and she couldn't do so effectively without Gwen, who needed to be with her so she could win. "He's Duncan's partner, if anything we should use this to our advantage."

"Always did have a heart of gold didn't you Heather?" Duncan said with max sarcasm.

Meanwhile Gwen just narrowed her eyes at Heather and put her arms to her hips. "Look, even if Lincoln wasn't missing, we just ran away from a sasquatch, ran into a cave infested with bats, got lost in said caves, and spent the entire day at odds with each other. Quite frankly, I'm just about ready to pass out now."

"Yeah I wouldn't mind a few Z's myself," Though they were competing, Duncan agreed with Gwen and honestly felt pretty beat himself. Some rest while waiting for Lincoln certainly wouldn't suck at all.

Meanwhile Heather just glared at the two and crossed her arms.

CONFESSIONAL – HEATHER

"Ok, a little bit of a hiccup in the plan but this can still work." Heather was still confident in everything working. Lincoln was still running around blind and probably wouldn't stop to rest for at least a few hours. "Just have to play my cards right and victory is in the bag."

"Alright, fine we can stop to rest." Heather relented as she looked at Duncan and pointed at him. "But you have to share the food you stole from us."

"Fine, whatever." Duncan rolled his eyes and pointed to the girls. "But you two have to make the fire."

"Alright." Gwen shrugged as the three went off to set up camp.

Despite not having all the supplies due to some of them being on Lincoln, the three of them were able to set up a decent enough campsite. A fire warming them up with Gwen also using a sleeping bag to keep her warm, they all had something to eat, Duncan had a nice tree to lean against, and Heather agreed to stay up a bit to watch for Lincoln…at least that's what she said.

MORNING

Duncan let out a long and loud yawn as he started to stir awake, he rubbed his eyes to try and speed up his wake-up time. But when he did wake up, his eyes quickly widened as he observed the scene. "Grrr, I should've known!" The girls were gone! Both Gwen and Heather were nowhere in sight, and to top it off Lincoln still was nowhere in sight! "Come on snowball where did you go?!"

CONFESSIONAL – DUNCAN

"Ok, I may not know him as well as other people, but I don't think Lincoln is one to up and bail like that without a good reason." Duncan put a hand to his chin in thought. Something was clearly up, no way it would take Lincoln this long to get through the caves and the delinquent somehow knew that he didn't become yeti food. "Starting to think something's up...Heather's hiding something, more than usual I mean."

"Geez, what was up with the wake-up call Heather?!" Gwen yawned out as Heather dragged her through the woods. Heather was the first to wake up and once the queen bee was up she wasted no time in taking Gwen back to camp, giving the goth a rude awakening and ignoring all protest she was making.

"Just pulling my weight and making sure we win!" Heather firmly told the goth, not stopping for a second. Gwen did manage to pry her hand away from Heather but simply kept running, seeing no real reason to stop while they were ahead. "I took a look at Duncan's map while he was sleeping and camp is straight ahead!"

"Well…alright then!" Gwen then grinned a bit, deciding that if victory was straight ahead might as well keep going straight. However, Gwen blinked a few times as something else crossed her mind. "Wait, what about-"

"Relax, snowball's fine." Heather easily lied as she rolled her eyes. "He showed up all dead tired, I explained everything, he passed out. He's safe and who knows how long before he wakes up so let's-wait, there it is! I see the camp!"

Over by the camp totem pole, Chef could be seen sitting down in a lawn chair with a tray of sticky buns he just freshly baked. The buff Chef was absolutely loving his time by himself. No Chris or annoying campers meant he could do whatever he wanted, even mess around with some of the contestant's belongings. And now he was about to enjoy a healthy and balanced breakfast of a dozen sticky buns…until…

"There it is! I see the camp!"

"Ah, crap." Chef frowned as he heard some of the campers approaching.

"Get back here!" Duncan could be heard yelling from a bit farther away.

Chef sighed in response as he got out of his chair and placed his sticky buns down. "Fun's over," Chef grumbled as he walked over to the totem pole, and not long after that Heather and Gwen emerged from some bushes and headed over to the pole at full speed, eventually reaching it with both girls placing their hand on it.

"Noooo!" Duncan yelled as he emerged soon after the girls claimed victory…by himself.

"Wait a second," Gwen immediately noticed the lack of Lincoln…despite Heather saying he made it. "Duncan where the heck is Lincoln?"

"Uh, still not here! Shoulda known you too were trying to trick me!" Duncan yelled as he walked up to the girls and glared at them. "We should stick around till he shows up huh Gwen?!"

"But…you said he did show up." Gwen quickly glared at Heather. The goth should have known something was up but she was too tired at the time to make any questions about it. But now she was wide awake and was about to give Heather what for. "You said he and Duncan were sleeping at camp!"

Now Duncan was glaring at Heather as the queen bee innocently shrugged. "Oh did I?" Heather said in a cocky tone that only pissed the goth and delinquent off even more. "My bad~"

Rustle!

Suddenly the group heard the loud rustling of bushes and from it emerged the very person they were talking about, Lincoln. Only the Loud boy looked completely exhausted with his eyes baggier than usual like he got little to no sleep and his cloths were dirty and a bit torn. "Finally…I made it…" He panted in between his breaths. However, when Lincoln looked to the pole, he saw everyone else was already there. With the two girls closest to the totem pole and Heather having a smirk on her face. "No…NO! NO! NO!"

"Dude, chill out! What the heck happened to you!" Duncan asked his partner as he walked up to Lincoln, being taken back a bit by the rage Lincoln had on display. He never saw Lincoln act like this before and it was both weird and kinda cool in a way. "Why did you just bail like that? You should've waited outside the cave!"

"Guess he just got distracted." Heather stated as she leaned against the poll, knowing that there was nothing Lincoln could do about her moving to the final three now. "Too bad, so sad."

Gwen looked back at Heather, her glare renewed as she got right in the queen bee's face. "What did you do?" Gwen demanded to know.

Lincoln soon stepped up to explain. "Oh, you wanna know what she did?!" Lincoln yelled as he glared daggers right at Heather who just continued to look proud. "She rigged the votes against Dawn!"

"What?" Gwen and Duncan said in unison.

Heather meanwhile rolled her eyes and continued leaning against the pole. "Heh, you're just as slow as he is." Heather mocked as Gwen and Duncan looked angrily at the queen bee. "He said I rigged the votes against Dawn to get her eliminated."

"You little witch!" Gwen yelled right at Heather, doing everything she could not to slap the devil woman in front of her. But if she gave in and did it, Gwen certainly wouldn't say she would regret it.

"Uh, that's low man even for you." Not even Duncan would say he would pull something like that. Yeah he was no stranger to bending or outright breaking the rules, he stole the night vision goggles from Chef after all, but even he would say that was too far.

"Oh big deal, I did what I had to do to win. And there's nothing any of you can do about it. I'm moving on and that's that!" Heather told them all with narrowed eyes and a wicked grin, stomping her foot on the ground for emphasis.

Lincoln opened his mouth and was about to speak up and give Heather a long and loud verbal assault. "ENOUGH!" But Chef snapping cut any chance at that as the buff cook walked up to Lincoln. "That's the game, girl team wins and snowball, you're done."

Lincoln sighed as he slumped down, having no choice to accept his defeat. "So I guess either me or Duncan are going home then huh?" Lincoln asked, but Chef shook his head in response.

"No son, you are done. You're out of the game." Everyone except for Heather gasped in response to this, Heather just grinning at how well this worked out for her. This was a sudden death round…and Lincoln hit the mark for it. "I instructed that you kids work together as a team to make it back to camp, and you went AWOL! And the first rule of the army is you never leave your squad behind."

"Ha! Wow, not only did you lose your girlfriend but you also dug your own grave." Heather further mocked Lincoln, driving his lose further into the ground and rubbing as much salt into the wound as possible. "Aren't you just the lucky one."

Lincoln growled and was about to stomp up to Heather, wanting for the first time in his life to beat someone to a pulp, but was stopped by Chef placing his hand firmly on Lincoln's shoulder. "Don't listen to her son!" Chef told the white head while giving Heather a glare himself. "You got nothing to be ashamed of, you've had a strong run. I'll go and get the boat."

Lincoln sighed as he nodded his head, falling onto the ground and slamming a fist against it. Heather simply smirked again before heading to the showers to finally get cleaned up as Gwen walked up to Lincoln. "Sorry about all that Lincoln, that's just not fair." Gwen told Lincoln in a sympathetic tone as she placed a hand on his shoulder.

Lincoln simply sighed as he stood back up in a slump. "Thanks Gwen…guess in a way I did do this to myself, I let Heather get in my head and completely threw off my game…" Lincoln then turned to Duncan, a look of shame on the Loud boy's face. "Duncan…I'm really sorry about bailing out on you."

"Eh well, not my butt being kicked off." Duncan shrugged, but still extended his fist out to Lincoln. "But sorry bout that man,"

Lincoln did manage a tiny smile as he gave Duncan's fist a bump. "Thanks, just do me one favor guys." Lincoln asked the two. "Make sure Heather goes down the next challenge."

"Oh you can count on it." Gwen smirked as she crossed her arms.

"She's going down in the next challenge." Duncan promised with a thumbs down.

"Thanks guys," Just then the all too familiar horn of the Boat of Losers rang through everyone's ears, and everyone knew it was time for Lincoln to make his trip off the island. "Well…guess this is it guys. Goodbye."

And so, with Gwen and Duncan waving him off, Lincoln headed over to the boat. Walking all the way to the end of the Dock of Shame, Lincoln recollected all the memories he's made at camp. The friends, the enemies, the fun, the pain. He's been through a lot in these seven weeks and overall, he would say he was glad he signed up. Yeah there were certainly some low points such as right now, but there were high ones as well. Including a certain person…

Who was there waiting for him on the Boat of Loser.

Dawn.

"…D-Dawn…" Lincoln froze a bit as he saw his nature loving girlfriend waiting for him right on the boat.

"Hi Lincoln," Dawn greeted him with a heartwarming smile and in a soft and loving tone. "It's great to see you again."

Now normally Lincoln would be overjoyed to see Dawn. But now, after he lost his cool causing him to get eliminated he felt ashamed. "I'm sorry…" Lincoln mumbled as he stepped onto the boat, his head lowered.

Dawn wasn't gonna hear any of that however and walked up to Lincoln and cupped his cheek in her hand and raised his head up so that his eyes would meet hers. "You have nothing to be sorry about." She told him firmly, yet still somehow keeping that soft tone he loved to hear. "I saw everything. You fought as hard you could. I'm proud of you."

"But-" Lincoln was quickly cut off by Dawn.

"But nothing." Dawn said as she used her other hand to grab one of his. "You may have lost the contest but who cares. We both don't care about the money and…we're finally together again."

"...Yeah, I guess we are." Now that was something Lincoln had to smile about. Dawn was immediately starting to make him feel better, she truly was a miracle worker. "I'm so happy to see you again."

"Hehe, so am I." Dawn giggled as she pulled Lincoln closer. "And there's one thing I've missed doing so much~"

Before Lincoln could ask what that was, Dawn quickly collided her lips with his and Lincoln putting absolutely zero resistance as he melted into the kiss, enjoying every moment of it. "Hehe, young love." Chef chuckled as he watched the scene before starting up the boat and heading off to the losers resort.

And with the Lincoln and Dawn being taken away from the island, both still kissing, came the end of yet another episode of Total…Drama…Island!
