Leah barely spared her daughter a glance. "Your father's assets were wiped out. Gone. I checked with your grandfather and the company board—there are no confidential deals and no pending transactions related to this unusual disappearance. So tell me, Selina, how exactly did this happen?"
Selina swallowed hard, her voice trembling as she forced the words out. "It was connected to what happened to Father. The people who harmed him were the ones who claimed his assets."
Leah narrowed her brows, fury radiating from her like a storm as she growled. "And you dared to hide this from us?!"
Without warning, Leah struck Selina across the face. A sharp sound echoed through the room. Selina's head jerked to the side, her cheek burning from the sudden blow.
