A FEW DAYS LATER
XAVIER'S POINT OF VIEW:
The full moon week was finally over. My body ached less. The fog in my head had cleared. The worst of the dizzy spells faded. I even managed to walk to the kitchen alone without one of them hovering behind me like I was about to tip over any second. Progress. Still, I could feel it, like a coil deep in my chest. A pressure. A weight. Something different that hadn't been there before the full moon.
"I am so glad I am finally able to stand up."I muttered.
"I am happy to see that."Michael said and smiled.
"You shouldn't be on your feet for too long." Adrian murmured from behind me for the third time that morning as I stretched my back near the window.
"I'm not going to combust if I get sunlight spontaneously." I said, voice dry. "We're not vampires."
Michael snorted from the couch. I wasn't so sure what was so funny for him, but I didn't mind him acting like that.
"Don't tempt fate. You've been way too spicy lately."He said.
