It was already dark outside. After a long evening filled with snacks, teasing, and laughter, the group finally began to drift toward their rooms.
"Goodnight, snuggle bear," Liora teased softly, her voice warm as she waved at Ren.
"Sweet dreams, my mate," Ren whispered with a wink.
Aria shook her head at them.
"Ewww…" Ren chuckled.
Kael covered his ears playfully, "can't believe them."
Dax barely made it to his bed before exhaustion overtook him. His limbs were heavy, but his thoughts lingered on the lighthearted moments that made him feel, if only briefly, normal again.
Then came the dream.
The sky shimmered with stardust. Dax stood at the edge of a glowing cliff made of lunar stone. Before him stood a girl with hair like spun moonlight, her eyes the same stormy silver as Aria's. Her hands were raised toward the sky, chanting something ancient and powerful.
Her name whispered through the wind.
