Lightened Mood
Alpha Throne stared at Rael for a moment, then turned and left the living room. His face was unreadable, but his footsteps were heavy with unspoken thoughts.
Beta Rayne stepped toward Lyra and pulled her into a tight hug.
"I missed you," he whispered, his voice cracking. "Every single night, I thought something bad happened to you."
Lyra blinked, caught off guard. "I am sorry," she whispered back. "I never meant to…"
"No," Rayne said, shaking his head. "I was at fault, too. I should never have helped you run. And I owe Aria an apology."
He turned to Aria, walking up to her slowly. "I am sorry, Aria. I thought I was doing the right thing."
Aria gave him a soft smile. "It is fine, Beta."
Rayne nodded, touched by her kindness. Then he turned to his brother, Beta Wayne. "Come on, I will fill you in on everything that's happened. It is a lot."
The two Betas walked out, their conversation already beginning.
