"I knew it was gonna come to this." Landon muttered as he massaged his forehead. Meanwhile I was rooted to the same spot because the king was staring at me with so much hatred, it felt like it might kill me.
"This wrench is Silas' daughter?!" He screeched when his eyes focused on me again and I flinched.
"She's not a wrench, father. She is our mate." Angelo snapped in clear irritation and as those words washed over me, something fluttered in my chest.
"And she's still a wrench! Why is a child of our enemy here in this pack and you three didn't have her instantly beheaded?!!" He demanded, while fuming with so much anger.
"She is our mate, you can't expect us to do that." Damon responded sharply and his response surprised me, because it sounded like he was defending me and that was so unlike him.
"Oh but you'll surely want to do that after you find out the truth." The king shot back and I frowned while staring at him in confusion.
What truth was he talking about?
