After what Zoe has said, she made a mental note to check if this guy has checked up with her office. Knowing from what she had heard, Felix Blackthorne must have had such a hard time getting what he wanted, and he must have spared no effort in trying to get to her. Her office might have got a headache from him.
Well he must consider himself lucky that she got caught in the case of Miss Aria Winters either way. He is getting what he wants even without knowing it, she sighed. She really hated how once something caught her attention she couldn't give up on it even if she wanted to. And that may be the reason why she had her reputation in the medical world.
Though she had quite many personal things to deal with, they had all hit the dead end. Even if anything at all had a lead it was the case of Winters.
Just then a call from Amelia interrupted her thought, and the timing couldn't be more perfect. She had to share what she knew. If anyone had put an effort into her crisis it was her, more like the only person she trusted with this was her.
"Hello love" Amelia's voice echoed. She had always been her safe space , if she trusted someone with her life it would be her.
"You have no idea what I know right now" she couldn't contain herself with Amy , it's really hard for her. She always had been that way with her.
"Ofc I don't , you didn't exactly tell me" she said softly, she knew how her friend gets excited when she has a breakthrough, as much as she loved her she knew how much she has been through.
"Right brace yourselves. You know we have reached the dead end,no more ways to get anywhere atleast for a while until you crossmatch the algorithms and find some way out. Now I have stumbled upon a case where the same drug may have in play." She breathed out. Lord knows how hard it was for her to hold it in.
"What! That's too scandalous,are you sure? Lu you know how acquainted I am with drugs and I have not been able to pin point it nor make it. That drug is almost untraceable." This was way too unbelievable and if what she had said was indeed true, it would make both of them a lot easier.
"I know how that sounds, but look this girl has been in a coma for almost the same time this happened to me,and there is no lead in her case medically and otherwise." Before she could complete it Amy interrupted her.
"Lu that's way too vague ,that doesn't point anywhere it could be anything. And she is in a coma?"she was a bit worried to break it to her friend that she may have been happy for nothing. She knew how much this could have meant for her .
"Amy let me finish, I know I may sound insane but , the symptoms seem identical and even I can't recognise what is wrong with her for gods sake. And my instincts is just screaming at me." She said, she knew it was ridiculous,the rational part of her was screaming at her for being so ridiculous but a another part of her , a stronger part of her said otherwise. It just didn't seem the case.
"Ok, let's assume you are right but it doesn't mean anything I mean we are still going nowhere, I mean it's been years. How exactly can she be of help?" Now amy was purely confuse.
" A lot actually, she is in coma, her body is not actually working like ours, her mechanisms are slowed if there is any possibility of tracing the drug its through her bloodstreams. And we can test on her the antidote. And it doesn't end there when she is awake we may even have a lead. This girl could lead to too much. She really could be our way out. Though it may not be that easy." She pointed out .
Aria Winters was her priority at the moment with all the things she was dealing with. If what she had assumed turned out to be right all this would be too much for her.
But the otherwise was a bit dreary, because she would be stranded nowhere with it, but she just dismissed that thought out of her mind. It didn't have to be relevant at the moment,she concluded.
"At this point we have nothing to loose, so it may be worth a try. But if somewhere along the way I feel that this is utterly useless you drop it. Do you understand me?" She said. She knew that her friend had already came a long way if she had thought of this much, which was pretty much the same as no turning back.
"Yes captain" Luna couldn't be anymore happy. She already had tons of things to right after this phone call. She herself knew that she was invested in this case,way more than she wanted to .
Miss Winters seemed to have left quiet the impression on her. She had a feeling that it would turn her life upside down. But she could only hope it would be the way she wanted it to be.
"Now go and do what you must. I will always have your back. Contact me if you need me or if there is a breakthrough. Alright?" She said.
She knew that it would be too long to their next call. Because her friend was an eccentric who forgets that the world and other people exist when she gets immersed in hers.
"Thanks amy. And I will"
She started marching to grab her things which she might need to test the waters with Aria. She wanted to know all about her medical history. Absolutely everything and anything. This was going to be epic and she just knew it.
