Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Erasure Punishment!

Wood Style: Nativity of a World of Trees was one of the most practical secret techniques in Wood Style—remarkably, it required two hand seals to cast, which was rare among secret jutsu.

It combined offense, control, support, and defense in one, allowing the user to create a vast forest domain. Within that domain, any further Wood Style techniques would be enhanced in power and reduced in chakra cost.

Given Nawaki's current strength, he could only create a forest spanning sixty to seventy meters in diameter—but its potency was still overwhelming.

Most importantly… his Wood Style kekkei genkai was a perfected version.

As long as he channeled the life-force within his body while using Wood Style, the resulting jutsu would not only be ten times tougher than normal, but would also possess self-regenerating properties.

With the Hoshikage's abilities, breaking this forest was simply impossible. His only option was to evade.

However… the Mysterious Peacock Method had one fatal flaw—once activated, the user couldn't move.

And so, this unfortunate man was thoroughly engulfed by the trees, reduced to nothing more than fertilizer.

If it had been an ordinary Jonin, they'd at least have had time to use a Substitution Jutsu or similar technique to escape the forest.

"…Still, I may have gone a bit overboard. One-shotting all the enemies kind of makes it obvious I was holding back at the start…"

Nawaki sighed as he slumped down against a tree trunk, beads of sweat forming on his brow.

The bleeding from his severed right leg had stopped—thanks to the powerful regenerative properties of his kekkei genkai. But even so, it couldn't achieve full limb regeneration.

Fortunately, he had free healing support. As long as he was still breathing, he could recover to full condition on the spot.

On the other side of the battlefield, the two Suna ninja had already been pulled into the forest during the casting of Nativity of a World of Trees—Nawaki had intentionally directed vines to drag them in.

Now, they were tightly bound like dumplings, suspended from a massive tree and writhing helplessly, muffled groans escaping their mouths.

"Big Brother Nawaki!"

A golden blur zipped across the battlefield—Minato rushed over, completely ignoring the injuries covering his own body. He knelt beside Nawaki and examined his wound, only to fall into silence.

This kind of injury… was well beyond the capabilities of ordinary Medical Ninjutsu.

"It's fine. Just a scratch."

Nawaki nonchalantly patted Minato on the shoulder and, with some effort, began forming hand seals again.

A moment later, wood began to grow from the stump of his severed leg, rapidly forming into a brand-new wooden prosthetic.

Leaning on the wooden limb, Nawaki stood up, stretched his leg, and smiled at Minato with a thumbs-up.

"Besides being a bit stiff, it feels pretty much like the real thing."

Minato opened his mouth, his eyes filled with admiration.

Such strength of character… Truly a genius of the Senju Clan!

Just then, the sound of faint sobbing broke the mood.

Turning his head, Nawaki saw Konan helping Kushina over. When she caught sight of Nawaki in such a wretched state, her tiny hands trembled as she wiped away the tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Big Brother Nawaki… I'm sorry… It's all my fault. If I hadn't rushed in without thinking… you wouldn't have lost your leg…"

Nawaki couldn't help but chuckle.

Reaching out, he lightly tapped Kushina's forehead and said with a smile:

"If anyone should be apologizing, it's me. If I hadn't held back because I was concerned about the Land of Bears, none of this would've happened. Even if I'd just killed those two Suna ninja from the start, it would've gone much smoother."

Kushina couldn't hold it in anymore.

She threw herself into Nawaki's arms and sobbed loudly.

She was still just a child—though she had endured many hardships, the guilt of Nawaki losing his leg because of her was simply too much to bear.

Once Kushina had calmed down a little, Minato frowned and asked:

"Big Brother Nawaki, why did those Hoshigakure ninja still try to kill you even after you revealed your Wood Style? Weren't they afraid of Konoha's wrath?"

"Wood Style? Minato, let me tell you something. When a village with a total population barely in the single digits dares to call its leader a 'Kage'—that kind of arrogance stems from the belief that they're equals with the Five Great Nations."

Nawaki said with some sarcasm, then suddenly seemed to recall something. He raised his hand and gestured.

Within the forest, a deep rumbling echoed. Numerous vines unfurled like blooming flowers, revealing a purple meteorite nestled within. The vines gently presented it before Nawaki.

He reached out and took hold of the stone that had made Hoshigakure what it was.

"This is the meteorite that fell here hundreds of years ago—the source of their inflated confidence…"

Suddenly, a cold and detached voice echoed in everyone's ears.

Nawaki's expression shifted.

[Main Mission complete. Beginning task evaluation.]

[Qingsha, Yuliang: insufficient remaining points. Erasure punishment will be administered.]

What?

Points awarded for mission completion… but erasure?

Everyone was stunned, but one thing was certain: the two Suna ninja who had actively sabotaged the mission would now be executed by this mysterious force.

The group quickly looked up at the two who were still suspended mid-air—Qingsha and Yuliang.

Even Minato, usually composed and mature, and the more silent trio of Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan, couldn't believe what they were seeing.

The two Suna ninja struggled frantically, groaning and twitching like fish caught on hooks, their eyes filled with terror.

As if some invisible force had taken hold of them, their bodies began to disintegrate from the feet upward—flesh and blood peeling away into fine powder, drifting off into the wind. Not a single drop of blood was spilled.

In just a few seconds…

Two living people were reduced to dust before everyone's eyes, leaving only their clothing and forehead protectors to fall silently onto the trees below.

"This… this is…"

No one could speak.

They had seen people die before—but the way Qingsha and Yuliang died was beyond terrifying.

Then, the voice of the Lord God returned.

This time, it sounded like a nightmare etched into their souls.

[Reincarnator Mission complete. Return will commence in five minutes. The next Reincarnator Mission will begin in one month. You may spend points one day in advance to preview the mission details. Please prepare accordingly.]

[Exchange panel unlocked. Points may now be spent to acquire items. You may upload possessed treasures, secret techniques, etc., in exchange for points. You may not teach acquired techniques to others. Techniques learned from other Reincarnators may not be uploaded. Violators will be erased.]

It was strange…

The Lord God's voice was as emotionless and mechanical as ever, but to those who heard it now—it carried a chill, a killing intent that made their blood run cold.
