Chapter 30 - Chapter 29: Ian Parker

Three days later,

Horne's injury hadn't fully healed yet. There was still a faint stabbing pain, but it was no longer a serious problem.

Enoch had made great progress in his cultivation. He could finally project his consciousness into the Sea of Consciousness!

His ability to enter the Sea of Consciousness meant that Horne was about to acquire a new spell.

Illusion!

Horne engraved the magic circle symbolizing illusion in the Sea of Consciousness. It only took him one day, and the progress was very smooth. However, he encountered great difficulties in using it.

While he was researching its application, a special guest came to Douglas' Carpenter Shop.

This guest was gentle and looked very learned. He wandered around the small shop for a long time without buying anything. Under the surprised gaze of Aunt Maze, he picked up a wooden carving and studied it.

All the wooden carvings here were carved by old Douglas himself. They had strange shapes and delicate craftsmanship, so the prices were naturally not cheap.

"Sir, may I ask what you want to buy?" Aunt Maze asked the man after seeing him wandering around for a long time.

"Um, I'll take a look, take a look." The man perfunctorily replied to Aunt Maze.

"You don't seem like someone who wants to buy something, sir." Aunt Maze said.

"Why do you say so?" The man asked curiously. He really wasn't here to buy anything, but how did this aunt notice?

"Except for these wooden carvings, everything in this carpenter shop is for poor people. Judging from your dressing, you shouldn't need them. As for the wooden carvings, although you've looked at them for a long time, your attention isn't on them. Am I right?"

Aunt Maze said proudly.

"Hahaha." The man was a bit embarrassed by what she said. "To be honest with you, I'm here to find someone."

"Who are you looking for?" Aunt Maze asked. She was a kind - hearted person who liked to help others.

"A young man with black hair and blue eyes. He should be here." The man smiled and stated his target.

"Oh, you're looking for Horne. You should have said so earlier instead of wandering around for so long." Aunt Maze rolled her eyes at the man.

The man gave an embarrassed smile.

Aunt Maze walked to the back door of the shop and shouted loudly inside, "Little Horne, someone's here to see you!"

"Coming, coming."

Disturbed by Aunt Maze, Horne came out. Although his injury wasn't healed, it was okay for him to walk around simply.

"May I ask who you are?"

Horne looked at the man in the shop in surprise. He didn't know this person.

"Hello, my name is Ian Parker. I think we met three days ago."

The man bowed slightly to Horne and said with a gentle smile.

"Three days ago... Are you..."

Horne widened his eyes. Could this man be the one who saved him at that time?

How did he find this place?

"Yes, it's me. I wonder if we could find a place to talk?" The man said politely.

"Sure, sure." Horne quickly agreed.

He led Ian to the living room in the backyard. After inviting Ian to sit down, he couldn't wait to ask,

"I'm very grateful to you for saving me. But may I ask how you found this place?"

"I left a small mark. It's very faint. I guess no one else except me can sense it. I'm also a wild witch. I have almost no combat ability, but my perception ability is very, very strong. It's stronger than anyone I've ever met."

This man seriously told Horne all this.

Horne was completely stunned. Why did this man almost expose all his secrets just because he asked how he found this place...

"Why are you telling me all this?"

If this person's way of doing things was like this, he should have been arrested and burned long ago. So Horne thought this person should have other purposes.

"I think you're trustworthy. And if I want to gain your trust, I naturally have to be more honest." Ian always had a very gentle smile on his face, looking very sincere.

"Just a feeling?" Horne asked doubtfully. Had all this been said just because of a feeling?

"I've said that my perception is very strong. I can not only sense energy fluctuations, but also slightly detect people's hearts. I can sense that if I tell you, you'll definitely not report me."

Ian kept revealing his secrets.

"What on earth do you want? It all seems so messy."

Horne felt that the person in front of him was simply a lunatic. He was so honest as if he were stupid. Horne didn't know how to deal with him.

"I'm pledging my allegiance to you." Ian said as a matter of fact.

"..."

Horne felt like he was going crazy. Who could tell him what this guy was here for?

Seeing Horne's confused look, Ian smiled and continued to explain,

"I saw the battle three days ago. I was watching from a distance. You're very powerful, and so is that girl. Although you can't compare with those big shots, among all the wild witches I know and have heard of, you're the most powerful. You're so powerful that you don't seem like a wild witch!

We wild witches who live in the cracks need a powerful leader. In my opinion, you're the most suitable one. So I went to heal your injury that day. It took me so long to find this place because it's quite far from the South District."

"Ah... I don't think I'm suitable to be a leader." Horne thought everything was too sudden, and this Ian was also very strange.

"I've said that I can slightly detect people's hearts. I think you're suitable." Ian said confidently.

"Um, my mind is in a mess. Can you go back first?" Horne issued an order to evict the guest. If he let Ian Parker keep talking, Horne really didn't know how messed up his mind would become.

"Okay. There'll be a gathering at Parker's Bookstore in the East District in three days. I hope you can come. Because we've decided to leave Ryan City and head for the God - Forsaken Land in fifteen days. I'm the curator of the library. If you plan to come, please contact me." Ian Parker stood up, bowed to Horne, and said.

Hey, you don't have to tell me your address and identity! Horne kept complaining in his heart.

"Um... Okay." He replied absent - mindedly.

Ian Parker bowed to Horne again and then left Douglas' Carpenter Shop.

Wait, what is the God - Forsaken Land?

Horne fell into deep thought.

The sun set, and Ryan City was plunged into darkness again. Horne called Annie and Enoch over and discussed the problems brought by Ian Parker's visit with them.

He told the two of them in detail what Ian Parker had said and wanted to hear their opinions.

"You said the guy who saved you is called Ian Parker? He directly told you his identity and said he's the curator of some library?" Enoch thought that if Horne wasn't crazy, then that guy must be.

"Yes," Horne nodded feebly.

"He has a small group of wild witches? There are a dozen wild witches?" Annie asked with bright eyes. She was very curious about other wild witches because the only wild witches she had ever met were Horne and Enoch.

"Yes." Horne said listlessly. Normally, if Horne found such a small group of wild witches, he would be very happy. But now that they came to him on their own and directly asked him to be the leader, Horne felt very confused.

"You said he thinks you're suitable to be the leader of the wild witch group?" Enoch asked again.

Horne slumped in the chair, covering his head, looking very headache.

"He's not wrong about that..."

Before Horne could answer, Enoch whispered.
